Honu Hale (turtle house) is our dream come true & could be your dream vacation home when you stay. Located in a prime area at the gated Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club, this first floor 2 BD, 2 BA is spacious & recently decorated to reflect artist owners with Hawaiian decor. No lugging heavy suitcases or bags of groceries up flights of stairs. Your reserved parking spot is right in front of the building and just a few steps away. Magnificent views are offered from your private large lanai of the Kona Country Club, which is open to the public, and a large grassy area for family fun.
Inside you’ll find a remodeled stocked kitchen so that you can cook your own meals, should you choose to do so, or you can go a short distance up Alii Drive to the Keauhou Shopping Center where you’ll find restaurants, drug store, grocery store, movie theater complex, book store, coffee shop, boutiques and even a Jam’s World for Hawaiian wear. Each Friday there is free live Hawaiian entertainment for your pleasure.
The dining room has seating for 6 at your glass table and 2 at the bar & good times will be had as you gather around.
The connecting living space comfortably seats 6 on 2 comfortable sofas, one of which opens up to a queen bed and a large chair, ottoman & additional recliner! You’ll find a TV here with cable for your favorite shows. Free WiFi is available. Guest Bedroom Roku TV too!
All of these rooms have a view out the large glass doors opening up to your private lanai. You’ll enjoy relaxing here, complete with 2 reclining lounge chairs and 1 table that seats 4! Additional tables and chairs are in the locked outdoor closet for your use. Inside this closet you’ll find beach and recreation items for your use.
Adjoining the living space is the Master bedroom and a Cal King bed with bright colorful decor to add to your enjoyment. It also opens up to your lanai and view. There are sliding shoji screens that you can close for privacy. The large master bathroom offers you a luxurious tiled shower complete with a teak fold up seat. You’ll also find a full sized washer & dryer here for your convenience. There is a door so that your master suite can be closed off from the other bedroom for privacy.
Guest bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Second bedroom offers cheerful bedding & 1 twin bed & 1 Queen Bed. All rooms have ceiling fans & Air Conditioning! 00 per night. This charge is automatically added to your bill upon booking. If you would prefer to not have AC please inform a written request to have this amenity and charge removed from your bill. 2 other free standing fans are available for your use. The condo complex is located on 17 acres of beautifully landscaped property that offer you a pavilion with grills, picnic tables, and a grass volleyball court nearby. A short walk takes you to the remodeled pool where you can swim laps or just relax. Tennis/Pickleball player? Then this is the place for you. There are 3 professional style Tennis/Pickleball courts with night lighting. Numerous Hawaiian archaeological sites with descriptions throughout the complex that you can explore. If you’re into ocean views and sunsets, just walk out of the condo, turn left and walk a short distance between buildings 1 and 2 to the public access. There you’ll find a walking path along the lava rock and crashing waves and a picnic table where you can have pupus and drinks while you watch for humpback whales in season, spinner dolphins and sunsets. Who knows, you might even be lucky enough to see the green flash.

We loved our week at the Honu Hale! The closet of fun was a great bonus we loved the boogie boards, pool noodles, and volleyball. The art is beautiful and the condo is just beautiful. The management is easy to talk to and very responsive.

Soothing Hawaiian music welcomed us and the ceiling fans had cooled the inside. The condo was perfect. It had everything we needed plus a little more. We really enjoyed the floor to ceiling sliding doors, lani, and designated parking. The furniture and fixtures were very nice and comfortable. The view from the lani was beautiful as we relaxed in the patio furniture in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped and had updated appliances. The resort was very nice, beautifully landscaped, heated pool, and barbecues. We would not hesitate to stay here again and really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful property and condominium. We would stay here again if we came back to Kona. Some of the highlights I’ll list. The King size master bedroom bed was superb. Very comfortable. We nitpick mattresses whenever we stay at places. The second bedroom with a twin and a full size bed was great for kids or other. The patio is very pleasant but the biggest thing here is the privacy. Reason is if you walk along the oceanside pathway of the property you will see other condo units that have great views of the ocean but lack that privacy aspect so there’s pros and cons to everything. We also enjoyed the patio closet with random beach need items. We used the water shoes, beach chairs, coolers, etc. Keep one of these coolers in your car when you go to the grocery store to put things in. One last thing is a tip. The pool is wonderful on the property w/ clean restrooms and a outdoor shower to utilize but maybe on our 9th day of our 13 day trip we figured out the property has its own beach access so go north of the pool area past 3 or 4 condo units, follow a sidewalk around a corner and you’ll discover the beach access. It was quite private but don’t put your hand down on a sea urchin like I did:)

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay on the Big Island and in this condo. The location was perfect and close to shops, restaurants, walking distance to a great snorkeling spot!! They had everything we needed and plenty of extras, boogie boards and cooler came in handy for us.
Will stay here again on our next visit to this island.

The condo was amazing nicely decorated. The place had everything we could want but a can opener. The only thing that was confusing was the air conditioner they do charge by day and i assumed it was paid when I paid my rental but it was not and after arrival they took that from my bank account which was my spending money. Read the contract I very well could have been mistaken.

We had a great stay with Keauhou Kona Surf & Racket Club. We had 44 family members stay somewhere within the complex, and we had snorkeling, body surfing, and surfing within walking distance. We decided to return to Kona next year and, stay here the next time too.

Overall, this ground floor, spacious rental was great place to stay! The unit was clean and had all the necessities. Location is great, we stayed in November and didn’t find we needed the A/C. We used the supplied fans and that was all we needed. The green space off the back deck was really nice. The rental came with a pack of 2 dishwasher pods, a small amount of laundry detergent and no extra garbage bags so keep this in mind if you are stopping to get groceries/supplies on the way and don’t want to spend your trip running back and forth to the store. It would be a huge improvement if a few spare garbage bags were supplied as these are necessities I have always had supplied with other rentals and wouldn’t have thought to grab at the store. The fun closest was a great help, but bring a collapsible cooler bag if you have limited space in your car. The supplied beach chairs could use some updating. Thank you so much for a comfortable, reasonable stay in Kona!

The property was clean with beautiful grounds. It is very close to the water (although you can’t access the ocean from there). The pool was nice and perfect temperature. The condo was spacious and comfortable for a family of 5 with 3 beds and a sofa bed. There were lots of fans but it was very hot in the condo the entire week we were there. Next time I would just pay the extra fee for AC to be turned on. The management was available when I had questions and when the fans stopped working they promptly replaced them. Overall, great stay.

A friend and I rented the unit for a week in August.The unit was as described, in a convenient location and clean. We were a bit disappointed that basic spices, a starter supply of coffee, et al were not provided. The a/c was an option that we added on - and needed.

Nice place to finish our vacation for our last 3 days. The condo fit our family of 4 fit great. There was enough separation from the kids bedroom and the place was clean upon arrival. Good location between downtown Kona and Captain Cooks. The pool was nice to finish in with the kids. Great sunsets off the beachside of the property. They provided lots of gear for the beach except the snorkel mask were broken and leaky. That’s been my experience at most places we have stayed on the Islands. Longs sells them for $30. We had a pleasant stay and would rent here again.
