The host was great, sent recommendations of things to do in the area and let us check into the house early! The house was clean and very nice, had everything you could need, including washer and dryer, which was so helpful. Couple of things to note- the beach access is not directly behind the house. You have to go through the trees on the side of the house and make your way down. Still was nice to have the beach accessible though! The house is advertised as a house with AC, but per the check in notes for the house, they highly encourage you to NOT use the AC units in the house, and instead use the ocean breeze. They also mention that Hawaii has high electric bills - so somewhat of a guilt trip there haha. It was quite warm inside, so we did use the AC… especially for the price you pay to stay here.Lastly, there are quite a few cameras around the house that were not disclosed in the listing. The main one that was the most uncomfortable was the one on the back patio. It just felt like someone was watching you at all times. I understand that it is likely for security purposes, but if you don’t disclose it, it makes people uneasy.Overall, great place to stay! Would stay there again if there were no cameras! :)
This was a great location to be able to explore all parts of the island - it was centrally located to go either north or south. The house had plenty of space for my entire family and the porch was a great place to catch sunrises. There were issues with the ac - so it was definitely warm - but hopefully it will be fixed for the next guests!
What you dream about when you think of VRBO. Beautiful. Private. Fun and lovely
Our family of five stayed at this cozy beach house to celebrate a Hawaii Christmas-it was perfect; great location (convenient to major attractions-Waimea, Poipu, Hanalei), well stocked (spices, kitchen tools, beach towels, boogie boards, toiletries, towels, etc), and amazing views of the beach, which is only steps away. It was the most unbelievable way to create family memories!
Pictures do not do this VRBO justice! One of the best views of the ocean from the home's back porch on the island of Kauai. The home had everything for an excellent stay. Outstanding host!
My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary at this wonderful house in Anahola. The house is beautiful and has recently been renovated, which was done quite nicely. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The bathrooms were quite nice and it was great having 2 for the two of us to split as the first bathroom was a little small. The living room was amazing to just sit in and enjoy the ocean breeze and views. The bed was super comfortable and I slept better on it than in my own! Of course, the star of the show was the back porch. We literally sat out there for hours and took in the beauty of Kauai. The sunrise in the morning was glorious. The moon at night was amazing. I’m literally missing it badly as I sit and write this review:-( I would say my only negative was the road construction. While we were able to navigate around the inconvenience, we basically had to plan our day around the schedule of the road work. Obviously, none of this is the owners fault, but just something I feel a potential renter should be aware of as it seems the project will probably last quite some time. One other suggestion I have is that I felt the plants in the back of the property needed to be trimmed down a bit in order to see the scenery a little better and also allow easier access down to the beach in front of the house. It felt a bit like jungle trekking to get down there. All-in-all we loved our stay in this sublime location and would do it all over again!
Overall the property is fine. Images are true to picture. Because it’s so close to the ocean, we found that the front porch and front of the house was always coated with sea mist. Just something to be aware of. The main living area always felt damp because of this.
The main reason for our mediocre review though is the host. We booked this in Dec’23 for a June’24 stay. On the day of our arrival, we received a message that the only road in and out of the property was destroyed in a winter storm and would be closed 8am-3pm during the weekdays. Having two teens and a very active vacation planned, that was disappointing but we thought that we would try to work with the inconvenience.
In day 3 of our stay, after having to move our car every day before 8am or lugging our stuff to the car and not being able to return midday easily, we were informed by the construction crew that the water would be off 8am-3pm. That was it for us. No ingress or egress to the house, and now no water. We reached out to the host and he agreed upon a one night refund and we found last minute $$$$ accommodations for the final two nights of our stay.
It’s been now 6 weeks and no refund has been issued and the host is unresponsive. I’m sad about the stay. We spent a great deal of money for this house and the three days we were there were stressful. Damp house, doors that don’t close all of the way so we had flies constantly, and then unable to get to/from the house anytime we wanted. Disappointing.

Nice small house with a wonderful ocean front porch. Great porch furniture. Comfortable place to relax. Host was very responsive and helpful.
Super location, on the water. House was clean and beautifully outfitted. Kitchen well supplied and stocked.
Property owner was extremely responsive and helpful!
We encountered a pest issue during our stay; cockroaches were present in numerous areas including the kitchen, shower, and even under the bed sheets. Regrettably, the property owner considers this acceptable, offering a lesson on "island life" and assuming it was our first time on the island. We urge potential renters to carefully consider whether such conditions would be acceptable to them. Unfortunately, we felt compelled to vacate on the 5th day of our 10-night stay due due to this issue. We have yet to receive the promised 1-night refund. The cleanliness left much to be desired with rotten food found in the kitchen drawers and a boarding pass from previous renters lying around. The vacuum cleaner stored in the bedroom closet was full of dust, crumbs, and other debris. Fan blades haven't been wiped inyears. A/C units only in bedrooms, and are accompanied by a note to not run for more than 3h consecutively. The circuit breaker tripped multiple times when using both the floor AC and the wall-mounted AC simultaneously for periods exceeding three hours; notably, there is no AC in the main living area. Relying on the ocean breeze proved insufficient, particularly during daytime hours. Privacy is undermined by a conspicuously placed camera on the back porch, an element absent from the listing photos, which records every time you step out to enjoy the view. Additionally, the adjacent beach is not conducive to swimming, marred by debris and an eyesore of an abandoned structure.
