Property Overview
From the moment you arrive at Hale Wailele (Waterfall House), tropical scenes take your breath away. Perched above the Kona Coast, this spectacular home invites you to unwind in complete comfort. Enjoy expansive ocean views, indoor-outdoor living, and evenings spent watching the sky melt into the sea. This spacious home with floor to ceiling windows in the great room looking out onto fountains in the pool with an incredible ocean view beyond the palm trees and torches connects you to the ocean, to nature, and to each other. The architecture of the home highlights open spaces, cooling breezes and peaceful privacy. Hale Wailele surrounds you with beautiful architecture and artistic touches such as arches, niches, cathedral ceilings, gorgeous paintings, music and sculptures throughout.
Our home is in a quiet neighborhood where most people live with open windows. Therefore, we do not offer it for weddings, meetings, or parties. The use and enjoyment of the house, pool, etc. is limited to the individuals listed on the rental agreement. We will only confirm reservations that give details about the group, purpose of the trip, and reassurances about being respectful and keeping noise at normal conversation levels. Disruptive behavior and excessive noise are not permitted.
The primary bedroom is furnished with a king bed, TV, garden tub with separate shower, Toto bidet commode, and infra-red sauna.
Bedroom two has a king and a queen bed, and full guest bath.
Bedroom three has a king bed, and sitting area and full guest bath
The den has a TV, recliner, and a pullout sofa. It opens to a side yard perfect for game of croquet or bocce. The den and bedroom three share the full guest bath.
The loft looks over the great room, has a computer desk, foosball table, 2 queen futons and 1 double futon.
The gourmet kitchen features stainless appliances and two adjoining dining areas with ocean views. There are also two bar areas- all focused on the gorgeous view and pool area.
If you prefer to cook and dine on the lanai, we have a large stainless gas grill, and an Evo grill. There is plenty of seating at two lanai tables.
Tropical gardens surround the home on the spacious one acre lot. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the orchid garden, herb garden and extensive assortment of flowers and fruit trees including, papaya, lemon, lime. apple-banana, avocado, fig, and mango.
There are 3 smart-home features installed. 2 Nest doorbells, one at the front door and one at the side door (both facing parking areas); and a smart lock, that will be programmed with a code to unlock the door, for your convenience.
Also a quick note about our animal friends :)
Geckos: Because of the tropical climate and vegetation in Hawaii you are likely to see our friends the geckos. They are a beautiful bright green with a few magenta spots. They have no teeth, are harmless, and considered good luck on the islands because they eat harmful insects. They are most easily spotted outside by lights waiting for dinner, but can fit through the smallest openings and are sometimes seen inside as well. If you see one inside and prefer not to have its company, please just toss a hand towel over it and release it into the gardens.
Birds: There are many birds around the house and throughout the neighborhood including Brazilian cardinals, finches, doves, exotic pheasants, chickens, and others. While they are fabulous to watch and a favorite part of the tropics, they can also be noisy for light sleepers. We recommend adding a sleep app to any smart phone or bringing earplugs if you think you might be bothered.

Amazing place.
Amazing property. Can’t say enough good things about it. The view, the space, the outdoor shower, the hosts responses. One of the best properties we have stayed at.
This house is the most amazing property we’ve ever stayed at. Location is perfect and the house well equipped. We were there to cheer on our daughter who competed in the Ironman race. The yard and house was a perfect place to relax and recharge though out our stay. Highly recommend for any family!!!
Nice house
The pictures on Vrbo do not show the beauty of this home and property. We went for our grandson graduation and 18th birthday, had a great time. The caretakers wereWonderful to work with and they gave us suggestions when we ask. Costco was a lifesaver on groceries. Definitely go to the shopping downtown where the restaurants are, found everything there.

This Home is absolutely Beautiful. Our family had an adventure just looking through this home. It's like eye candy everywhere. From the views of the ocean to the little bungalow with the best outdoor shower with unlimited hot water. What you will feel in this home and property is overwhelming. It lets you know that you are on a vacation and you have found what your looking for.
We loved this spot, it was gorgeous and the hosts were great i loved seeing all the flowers on the property and the pool had a shallow and a deep end which we enjoyed.
It is a large home and it was so nice for eight of us to be able to find plenty of space to share with each other and also space for quiet solitude.
Relaxing, accessible to everything, beautiful home and surroundings don’t ever need to leave if you want to a quiet reclusive rest however, if you want to do more town, beaches, shopping are nearby. Would stay again.

OMG, we had the best time at this property. We loved everything about this place. Do not think twice, its everthing and more, so just book this paradise. The host is amazing, there were treats, drinks and water fo us when we arrived. The place is stunning with amazing views. The pool, outdoor shower, i mean wow!
This was our once in a lifetime gift to our kids and grandkids. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The property is a gem, and the other reviews are very accurate. The outdoor shower was a big hit with everyone. We had to pick a number each night to see what the order was. The outdoor space with the pool and the view were spectacular. It's a million-dollar view as you see in the pictures. Alanya was very helpful and if you had a question, she was very prompt with a response. The caretakers are right up the hill. If you have a problem, it gets resolved pronto and are a very pleasant couple. This house by far was the most well-equipped rental we have ever been in (34 rentals). I could go on about the evo grill and all the little things that made this rental memorable, but the review would be too long. I will leave you with this. This is the only rental we would do again.
We came to Kona to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary and this house was the icing on the cake. Incredible views from pretty much every room in the house. The property was well maintained and had a secluded feel to it. The outdoor shower by the Lanai is one of the most refreshing feelings in the world. The house is up the hill, so it gets a wonderful breeze most of the day and is a few degrees cooler than downtown Kona. It's centrally located, so you're a short drive from shops, stores, beaches, and restaurants. The welcome book has a lot of great ideas for activities and all the beach equipment you could need is provided. Very nice kitchen inside the house and clean gas grill and flattop outside. The caretakers are very friendly and approachable, but have great boundaries. They live in a house on the other side of the property and you won't even know they're there unless you need them. The only thing disappointing about this house is saying goodbye when your trip ends. We traveled with age ranges of 10-73 and everyone had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your slice of paradise with us.
This property is absolutely gorgeous!
We had such a wonderful stay in this beautiful house in the hills behind Kona over the New Year. The property is gorgeous, spacious, and clean, with heavenly views of the coast and ocean. The pool and jacuzzi are perfect, and most of all, the owners (remote) and hosts (on-site, just behind the property) were kind, warm and responsive. They showed us the fruit trees on property, let our kids help pick fresh bananas, and took care of every detail. A very special place—we will be back!
