Unfortunately I booked a 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. When I checked into the unit there was only one bathroom. I was not told the second bath would be under repair prior to my arrival. I would have changed my reservation. This unit is very tired and many things here are neglected. The grounds at Ekahi are beautiful and the proximity to the pool and beach is great. The management company should communicate better with guests.
Unit 7A is worse than the photos show. It is an old, tired unit that needs upgrades.We rent it based on VRBO's description that it was a 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. There is only one bathroom. The other doesn't have working fixtures. The carpet is dirty gold shag with stains. The shutters are stained and in need of painting. The louver windows are dirty. It unit was clean but old and tired. The only good thing about it is the location near the main pool area.
We have been going for 25 years to Ekahi Village and love it. Getting older, we now prefer lower village units. 7A is just steps from the beach and main pool.But this unit is badly in need of a remodel. The toilet and bath tub en suite with the bedroom was locked. We had to trot to the other toilet in the middle of the night.The plumbing is very dated and the a/c is extremely noisy. Supplies were limited.
Everything was great, except for the second bathroom was out of order.
The location of the unit is wonderful. The unit was dated, but comfortable. Both bathtubs need to be replaced. The floor of the tub in the bathroom in the bedroom has become detached from the tub itself and makes taking a shower difficult in terms of walking in the tub. The tub in the other bathroom doesn't drain very well and there is a big chunk missing from the porcelain. The carpet could use a deep cleaning. The other furniture was very comfortable. The Coral Tree folks were very responsive and helpful.
The location is excellent! Right near the beach + main pool pavilion. The unit itself is well-sized for a couple. Having two bathrooms is a plus. However, the unit furnishings + decor are dated. Wood paneled walls, old carpets, noisy A/C (I wore earplugs to sleep). The toilet in the master bath required you to hold down the handle extra long to flush properly. The king bed was on a wood platform with sharp corner edges, so if you are not careful, you'll bang your legs in the dark.
Great spot in one of the closest buildings to the beach. Two minute walk to the pool and beach. Beautiful garden like grounds. The unit itself was old but in good shape. My son loved seeing the birds and geckos on the lanai.
This was a nice property but because of the higher price we were expecting it to be a little more upscale. Amenities were minimal… Don’t expect gourmet cooking ware or even spices or a grill .We liked the location and the privacy. We didn’t like the hefty fees for cleaning etc. (several included whether you want them or not). We would stay here again if the total charges were more in keeping with other properties we have stayed at in Ekahi. Ps The second lanai Would be usable but it’s surrounded by dirt. They should plant it and add a chair or two
Very close to the main pool and beach, we loved the convenience. Neat and tidy upon arrival and cleaned every two days or so, which was great. The check-in process was frustrating as we didn’t receive any access details prior to arrival and once we were on site we had to wait around while trying to contact them to be let into the unit. Make sure you contact them well in advance of your check-in so you’re not left waiting, I assumed it would be sent automatically but it was not.
Very well-appointed condo! The kitchen had everything we needed for a family of four to have a great week in South Maui. The location was perfect for those with young children being so close to the pool and beach. The lanai off the living area is wonderful as it is private while providing an outdoor space with access to a grassy area for kids to play. We really can't say enough about how great this property was for us. The management company was very easy to work with throughout our stay.
