Property Overview

We first listed Villa One on VRBO May 2022. We've had many happy guests, and many 5 star reviews. This exceptional and private condominium is the first ground floor villa at The Shores at Waikoloa Beach.
Villa One has views of the Pacific Ocean peeking through Palm and Plumeria Trees, and the fairways of the Beach Golf Course. It is a upgraded, luxuriously furnished condominium residence, fully equipped to maximize your island getaway pleasure. Experience the peace, beauty, and relaxation of old Hawaii in a low density, beautifully landscaped community flowing with flowers, koi ponds, and fountains. A few minutes stroll leads to the ocean, or to the beautiful white sands on Anaeho'omalu Beach (also known as A’ Bay), or to restaurants and a full-service grocery in the Queens Marketplace. Villa One is perfectly located for elegant resort living.
Two equally large master king suites have views and their own sliding glass doors opening onto the lanai, high quality orthopedic mattresses and linens, Sony flat screen TVs and private ensuite bathrooms (separate soaking tub, glass shower, double sinks, and granite counters). Each master suite is located on opposite sides of the large living area.
The spacious great room and designer kitchen opens onto an expansive >560 sq ft (52 sq m) wrap around lanai with dining for eight and cocktail seating for an additional four where you can relax and enjoy the view. Villa One offers true Hawaii indoor/outdoor living, year-round sunset and ocean views, and breezy trade winds to enjoy our wonderful climate; mid 70sF (20sC)/winter, mid 80sF (upper 20sC)/summer, and 6-10” (15-25cm) annual rainfall.
The large comfortable great room has a granite counter wet bar with wine fridge, two oversized sofas, a 65” LG Smart TV, and dining table with seating for six. A well-organized chef's kitchen makes cooking fun and easy, featuring a Thermador stainless-steel built-in gourmet oven, microwave, warming oven, Thermador built-in refrigerator, beautiful granite countertops, oversized deep sinks. We provide a drip coffee maker & bean grinder, instant pot, rice cooker, mini food processor, hand mixer and full kitchen tools, dishes, paper products, condiments and spices. A brand new GE washer and dryer allow you to travel light.
Quality upgrades contribute to the spacious luxurious surroundings in your home away from home, including travertine stone flooring throughout, recessed lighting, ten-foot ceilings, built-in closets, and a half bath for guests. Villa One is fully air conditioned, but also has new ceiling fans in the great room and bedrooms, as well as screened doors and windows throughout, that allow the ocean breezes to flow through, often making the A/C superfluous. There are two more new ceiling fans on the lanai. Best of all, Villa One feels like a peaceful, personal home oasis within an amenity-filled resort.
Villa One amenities include gated resort, private entry, dedicated covered parking adjacent to front door (no stairs, easy to unload groceries, luggage, and gear), large walk out yard with fountains and views, central A/C, high speed WIFI, and Spectrum Cable TV.
Of course, we have beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and coolers to use on the best beaches on the Big Island, all within five to fifteen minutes drive from Villa One.
The Shores at Waikoloa Resort amenities include swimming pool, two well-maintained tennis courts, an air-conditioned exercise room, beautifully landscaped low-density grounds and fountains, and several gas BBQ grills.
Located 17 miles north of the Kona Airport on the sunny, dry west coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, the Waikoloa Beach Resort boasts the most consistent sunshine and best climate on the Big Island. A planned community of hotels, condominiums, unique island restaurants, and two shopping areas, the resort offers tropical landscaping of flowering trees and bushes, two golf courses, fountains, ponds, lagoons, and swim with dolphins at Dolphin Quest at Hilton Waikoloa Hotel. A large white sand sheltered beach at Anaeho'omalu Bay (“A Bay”) is ideal for swimming, and provides opportunities for stand-up paddle boarding, outrigger canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba. Watch whales during the winter or take a sunset cruise. Enjoy numerous hikes along the coast or around the island, or picnic on the beach. Day trip to Kilauea, an active volcano with a chance to see the lava flow at night, or to black sand beaches in Pololu and Waipio Valleys. Experience sunsets from the summit of 13,786’ snowcapped Mauna Kea or stargaze at the incredible Big Island night sky. Catch a wave from often photographed Hapuna Beach just thirteen minutes away or curl up with a great book and relax in luxurious comfort in your very own Villa.
The surface waters of the open ocean around Hawaii range from 77 °F (25 °C) between late February and early April, to a maximum of 83 °F (28 °C) in late September or early October. With water temperatures this mild for hundreds of miles around, the air that reaches Hawaii is neither very hot nor very cold. The water temperature is wonderful for swimming year-round.
Mahalo for looking at Villa One. Enjoy the experience of the Big Island Paradise.

The villa was truly luxurious, best of any of our stays with a super equipped kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoor gear. The lanai was large enough for us to spread out and comfortably enjoy the morning and evening air. Location was terrific, and our host, Richard, quickly responded with answers and suggestions for us. Best VRBO stay ever!

This property was just perfect. It was stocked with just about everything…..paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, toiletries, spices, oils and awesome beach gear! The owner Richard was the best VRBO host we have ever rented from. Would definitely stay here again! Great location and gorgeous surroundings. Beds were so comfortable and we loved that the master suites were separated for privacy from our teenager.

Sure! Here’s a polished VRBO review you can use:⸻We had a wonderful stay at this property! The home is beautifully furnished and exactly as shown in the pictures—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. It was incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed and more: from kitchen tools and pantry basics to beach equipment, towels, and even extra toiletries. You can tell the owners really put care into making guests feel at home. The property manager was responsive, friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stress-free, well-equipped gateway.

Richard’s property is perfect for a Big Island stay! We stayed with four adults and had plenty of room for time together and quiet time apart. The kitchen is very well stocked (we did a lot of cooking) and there’s plenty of staple items to use (spices, etc). We were so grateful for the beach items including towels, chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler. The lanai is enormous and the sunsets from the lanai made the perfect end to perfect island days! Thank you Richard!

I wanted to stay in a place that was slightly larger and more luxurious than i normally would stay at. The Shores Villa 1 didn't disappoint! I was impressed with the location and the style of the Villa. Didn't have to buy any sundries as the Villa was fully stocked with paper towels, toilet paper,, etc....I recommend this Villa for those who want luxury with convenience. I will be coming back for my next, 28th Hawaii vacation.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary in Hawaii and Villa One was everything we were looking for and more. Villa One is a great luxury space for 2 couples. The two master suites were perfect. The location, decor and amenities were outstanding. We enjoyed breakfasts and evening drinks on the great lanai. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We also appreciated that beach items were available such as beach umbrellas, chairs and coolers. We will definitely recommend Villa One to our friends and family. Thank you.

We had an absolutely amazing vacation at Villa One. Talk about a home away from home! This luxury villa is tastefully decorated with beautiful art and had everything we needed to make our stay as relaxing as possible. Two master bedrooms ensured we all had our privacy and comfort. The large living and dining rooms were perfect for dinners and board games at night. The kitchen was stocked with everything you might need, including spices and oils. The lanai area was perfect for watching the sunset or just catching a glimpse of the ocean. The location is just right—within walking distance to Kings' and Queens' Shops, Hilton, and Marriott. Tropics Ale House is right across the road, and they, hands down, have the best happy hour mai tais. The host, Richard, was excellent. Booking online was very easy and straightforward, with no surprises. Richard was attentive, resourceful, and extremely responsive during our stay. The villa has a book with every activity and restaurant you might want to visit on the island. Ask Richard for suggestions ahead if you want to plan something (like I do). We’ve been to the Big Island many times, and I thought we’d done it all, yet we got so many great suggestions from Richard that were new to us. I will definitely consider Villa One for our next visit to the Big Island and would recommend it to all our friends. Mahalo, Richard, for opening your beautiful Hawaiian home to us—we had a fantastic time!

Such an incredible place; very clean, spacious, well stocked and close to everything. Owner Richard very accommodating and responds in a timely manner. The place is very large and the two master suites are the best. Huge lanai to drink your kona coffee, or eat at. So peaceful and very quiet. The hard part, is to leave this slice of paradise 🌊🌺🏄‍♂️🌴🌞10 +

Great property. Had a few minor issues that were handled very quickly by local property manager. Very well equipped. Especially enjoyed the large porch. Only 2 of us, but could very easily have 4 to 6 without feeling crowded. Excellent stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

If you're looking for comfort and lovely surroundings, this is the place. It's clean, beautifully appointed -- far more than most short term rentals -- the beds and furniture are comfy, the kitchen extremely well stocked, the amenities generous, and the host is simply great to work with. We requested several special accommodations for our 3 week stay and Richard was more than receptive to working with us. He also put together an incredible binder of information about the area. We found the location ideal for our purposes, convenient to groceries and shopping, and we enjoyed staying here. The pool, and being able to walk along the shore to A Bay, were special treats.

We were very pleased with our stay and would stay here again!
