The host prepared us great with directions, how to get in, special instructions. The place was fabulous, in a great location. Loved the serenity of the area, the visits by the pheasants in the morning, the always heated jacuzzi. The host was very responsive to any questions. We hope to stay there again.
Great location, we bought the annual pass to the park so we could go back and forth (5 min drive). We really enjoyed the hot tub after a full day exploring and it was nice to be able to walk to Lanikai brewery for dinner and drinks. The only downside was the washing machine wasn't working while we were there, its an important criteria for me because i pack light, nobody's fault really, these things happen. Overall it was a cute cabin i would stay again!
Loved staying at this cute cabin in a rain forest so close to the volcano. We planned our trip just right to see an eruption and got there in minutes! The nights were chilly but the big hot tub and fire place kept us warm. It had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. I would stay here again.
All was great! Host was prompt with communication, cabin was clean and well stocked, hot tub was a real treat.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this cosy cabin. Super easy check-in and so wonderfully clean with beautiful cut flowers from the garden. Kids loved the bunk beds but found the mattress a bit hard. The water was tricky to get right for the shower but nothing unmanageable. Loads of things to eat/cook with in the kitchen but I’d buy food on the way if planning to eat in from Hilo or Kona as there is super limited food options at Volcano. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this wonderful home away from home.
This was a nice, cozy cabin! We loved the proximity to the Volcano National Park, the fire stove heater, and the lush vegetation. We did wish the host responded to our question about trash and that the hot tub got hotter. Overall, solid stay.
This place was so much fun. So magically tucked away from the rest of the world. We loved returning to this place after several days of hiking, swimming and exploring around the island. The property was exactly as advertised. Comfortable, clean, and perfectly located for Volcano National Park. Due to its proximity, we were able to be one of the first to the park when the volcano began to erupt!Zero complaints!
Loved every thing about the stay. Hot tub was a big hit for the kids
The whole family loved our stay at this cute and cozy cabin in the rainforest. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need and we enjoyed the gas fireplace and the hot tub. The cabin is close to restaurants, a market, and Volcanoes NP. Ten out of ten we recommend!
We loved our stay! We hung out in the mossy, cushy lawn for hours. Furniture and beds were comfy and kitchen pretty well equip. We loved the jacuzzi! Such a cute, quite neighborhood. We walked to the store and nearby ohelo cafe. We also biked to the neighborhood farmers market on Sunday. Close to the park. We didn't even want to leave because it was so relaxing just hanging out and looking at the surrounding Forrest.
This is the most perfect place to stay in Volcano. It is remote, set within the gorgeous lush rainforest, yet if you have a car you can see everthing you would want to see. VERY comfortable and private, stocked with housewares, blankets, towels, and shower supplies, games, instructions and suggestions. The host is available and very helpful. I would suggest buying distilled water because all the island's water supply is rainwater. There is a water filter pitcher available if you are okay with the rainwater. The place is truly a wonderful home away from home. And the Big Island is a magical land, deeply spiritual and steeped in history and tradition. There is something for everyone. Aloha!
This home is a gem set in a lovely tropical garden. It's comfortable, roomy--large windows let in light and lush views of the surrounding garden. Sun in the morning on the front porch and mid-afternoon on the back deck. We used the wonderful hot tub nearly every day of our week-long visit. Songbirds sang and pheasants visited every day. Living room furniture was comfortable and NOT worn. The bed was firm and comfy. The vases of fresh anthurium were a lovely touch. The close proximity to the national park was a plus. Unfortunately, the poor quality of dishware in the kitchen (red paint peeling off wine glasses, old, plastic plates, foodstuff cooked onto the bottom of a saucepan, badly scratched other pans, at least one sticky cabinet shelf, etc) pulled this 5-plus star rental to a 4. The owner/manager said replacing these items is his number one priority. I hope he does.
We loved this rainforest hideaway for wildlife viewing and exploring the park. Well equipped. Kiddo enjoyed the games and family movie nights when the rain came in. Hot tub is a bonus too. Just be aware that there's no covered area for grilling or eating outside.
Amazing place. Quiet and secluded, just the birds and the rainforest. Awesome hot tub, close to the National park, and all the amenities you need.
Great choice if you are visiting Volcano Park. It is just like in description and pictures.
