Beautiful house - loved all of the wood and stone. Well equipped kitchen and lots of space. Property was so lush and tropical. Excellent proximity to the National park.

This was the nicest short term rental we have stayed at in the Volcano area. I think it was our 7th house. I am looking forward to going back in 2026. It was a fun weekend away from Oahu !

The kitchen had everything we needed and the dining room is stunning. Beds are very comfortable. The property management team was responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this property. Easy check-in, good directions and beautifully clean. Easily most beautiful home and setting of any place we stayed. Great communication from the beginning includkng when we needed to move our stay a day later. Helpful guide book, games for kids and beautiful outdoor setting. Unfortunately didn't get to the hot tub as rainy in evenings, but sti enjoyed the outdoor space. Excellent experience.

The Volcano Rainforest Estate is an awesome property. The home is very comfortable and is perfect for family or a group of friends. The design and layout is excellent. Highlights include the large dining room separate bathrooms for each bedroom and the wrap around lanai. We enjoyed our evenings listening to the sounds of the rainforest. Truly peaceful. The location is great for accessing the National Park and Hilo area. Jenny and team are outstanding hosts. Their communication was excellent starting with the reservation process through checkout. We would stay again if in the area.

Our family recently enjoyed another fantastic stay at the Volcano Rainforst Lodge. As repeat guests, having stayed at this beautiful home multiple times in the past, we continue to be impressed with its excellent condition and unique charm.The home truly is a one-of-a-kind home, and its proximity to Volcano while seculsion and privacy makes it an ideal choice. Our family of six had an excellent time, and we look forward to returning again in the future.

Beautiful property in a quiet setting. The living spaces were clean and nicely furnished with comfortable couches and beds. There were six adults and there was plenty of space for everyone.

This home was absolutely wonderful! If you are looking for a peaceful, secluded vacation then the Volcano House is perfect. Plus, it is only 15 minutes to Kīlauea. The property managers are amazing! I highly recommend it!

Great location, beautiful and relaxing surroundings

This is exactly what we were looking for on our trip to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It was only 10 minutes from the park. The place was easy to find, even in the dark. The house is magnificent. Everything was in great condition, clearly well maintained and clean. Above all else, the host was fantastic. She provided very clear instructions and was available to help with any questions. She also went above and beyond and messaged to let us know that an eruption was happening in the park! We were able to head right over and got to observe a natural phenomenon that is unbelievable to see. We probably would have missed it if not for the notification from the host. We are so glad we stayed here and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet stay by the park, you found it!

This property was beautiful and carefully maintained. My only complaint would be that the driveway was difficult to navigate in the dark. Even so, we all loved it. Very close to the national park. We entered the park multiple times as it was so convenient.

Beautiful place! We stayed here to visit the Volcanoes NP. It is just less than 10 minutes away. Would definitely book this place again!

We thoroughly enjoyed the design and spaciousness of this lovely home! Listening to the night sounds of the "jungle" while walking around on the wrap around deck was awesome. Sipping my coffee in the dining room in the morning listening to the sound of silence recharged my soul! It was a great location to stay to enjoy Volcano National Park.

Loved this beautiful, handcrafted home tucked into an amazing rainforest. Loads of space for 4 adults and 2 children. Sitting outside listening to the night sounds of the rainforest was unforgettable. This house has lots of interesting artwork—so I will say that if you have an inquisitive 4-year-old in your group, you will have to keep vigilant watch!! Getting to the national park and Hilo was easy.

This house deserves more stars than 5. The one category that I rated 4 stars was website accuracy because the photos don’t do it justice, from the house itself to the magnificent views from inside each window. Our family group consisted of a five year old, his parents and one set of grandparents and each of us loved this place. We appreciated the cleanliness, comfort and beauty of the setting. There is a lovely wraparound porch and, as the description says, each bedroom has its own bathroom. Beds are comfy and bedding provides warmth for the cold nights. The managers are always accessible and provided immediate help with a couple of issues. The first was with the WiFi, which once reset properly worked great. The second was the water heater which gave up the ghost our last full day. Water heaters don’t last forever and we just happened to be there when this one gave out so we had no hot water for showers or dishwashing that day. We very much appreciate the way this was handled by the managers and owners. I should also note that we discovered that at least two of the bathrooms have on-demand water heaters under the sinks so there was still access to some hot water. There is a lot to see on the big island and we plan to be back. We hope to be able to stay in this house again next time we visit.

This house is surrounded by amazing natural beauty just like the pictures show. Check out the CD collection and enjoy some music while lounging by the fireplace. House runs a little cold so bring warm socks!

Our little slice of Hawaiian paradise

Driving into the short private drive up to the house was like driving onto the set of Indian Jones or Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs. Pulling up to the house itself revealed a gorgeous well furnished home with attention to details. Tropical woods throughout, and well equipped modern kitchen, and three large bedrooms each with an on sweat bathroom. Huge picture windows look onto a beautifully landscaped tropical garden. Everything you see on VRBO is what you see in person. We enjoyed dipping in the hot tub each evening and morning before setting off on our daily adventures. The town of Hilo is about a 30 minute drive away and local dining options in Volcano are few, but on the plus side you are just minutes away from the Volcano National Park. That is the only minor draw back to this location.

The home is beautiful, clean and very comfortable! We especially enjoyed being in the middle of nature, whether we were enjoying a cup of coffee on the gorgeous lanai, or gazing out all of the beautiful windows!

From pulling onto the property it exceeded expectations, the setting was incredible staying in our own private jungle. The lodge continued to impress, spacious and beautiful I definitely want to return.

Gorgeous property and home. Location is perfect for exploring the volcano and a short drive into Hilo. The property is breath taking! We sat on the back porch every night listening to the frogs that sound like birds chirping. The home is very roomy. Every bedroom has their own bathroom. Communication with management was quick and easy. I will recommend this property to everyone that is going to the Big Island. Absolutely 10/10!!

We had a 3 generation group staying for 3 nights - the house was very well located for exploring Volcano National Park. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, and very comfortable. We were sad to leave.

This property is absolutely beautiful! It is well-supplied and very well-maintained. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed and more. The property manager was very prompt in response to the few questions that we had. I would definitely stay here again and suggest it to my friends and family.

Are stay was awesome . It’s located close to Valcanos National Park if you are planning on visiting the park. It was like having your own jungle retreat. Beautiful house and grounds. Jenny kept us informed and was helpful. If we come back to the Big Island we would love to stay there again.

The house was perfect. It was beautiful, quiet, & had all of the accommodations we could ask for. It was close to volcano park & an easy drive to shopping & great restaurants in Hilo. Overall it was a nice relaxing stay.

Wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of playing tourist!!

We had an amazing time at the Volcano lodge. The house is spacious and well-equipped. We cooked and had family meals for our 3-generation trip. But more unique, the home is super private and serene. Every room looks out on greenery and we loved sitting on the wrap-around porch. At night, we could hear the chirping of the coqui frogs. You are very near the national park, and less than an hour from Hilo to the East and green sand and black sand beaches to the West. Only word of caution is that the town of Volcano itself is very small. There are a couple of places to eat and a very small store, but choice is very limited so best to plan ahead. We had a wonderful meal at the Kailua Lodge nearby.

Amazing property. Large, secluded Craftsman style house with very nice decor that could easily accommodate 6+. Very close to VNP which made returning to eat lunch easy after a morning excursion. Check in/out process was excellent. Wish we could have stayed more than 4 days.

Volcano Rainforest Lodge was the best! We got in after 5pm, loaded in and was so happy to have a cup of tea and relax in the hot tub under a peaceful starry sky. This hale is simply perfect for a retreat, and gathering place where we ate made lei, relaxed in the house and outside on the huge porch. Every space was perfect. The rooms were gorgeous with amazing showers and easy access to the outdoors. As we prepared to share our hula my students were able to gather with me to create their lei and oractice our hula for Pele at the volcano hula pa. Everythig was perfect here...we even got to bird watch from the porch. Mahalo nui e Rain Forest Lodge Hale. We'll see you again🌸❤

This was a gorgeous place to stay and enjoy the nature around us and was a great launching place for visiting Volcano National Park. Beautiful home and special property.

My family stayed here in late May. Communication with the owners/managers prior to coming was excellent and the directions for check in were easy to follow. The house is pretty secluded. You won’t see our hear anyone else. The only sounds are of nature. We enjoyed sitting on the large deck in the evening to listen to the frogs. Every morning the Hawaiian pheasant would visit us while we drank our coffee. The grounds are beautiful with lots on flowers and tropical plants. The outdoor hot tub was great after a long day. The house was just as expected. It’s beautiful. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house is really close to the entrance to Volcanoes National Park making it an ideal base for exploring that area. Overall we were very happy and would highly recommend it.

My husband, infant daughter, two friends and I stayed here while exploring Volcanos NP and it was lovely. Jenny communicated clearly and checkin/checkout was quick and easy. Property was beautiful and had everything you could need. They even had the pack and play set up for us knowing that my daughter was coming. Definitely would stay here again!

i have always wanted to vacation in a rainforest and feel privileged to stay in such a beautifully designed house with professionally landscaped (but natural) surroundings and total privacy. Every bedroom has a gorgeous view, a seating area in the wraparound deck, and its own bathroom. The management office was great. We will recommend this property to all of our friends.

April 2024 - Family of 4 adults - 3 night stay - This stay was the second half of a one week vacation in Hawaii. First four days were in busy and exciting Honolulu. This location was a nice period of relaxation before heading back to our daily lives. The location is a little remote, with a 30 minute drive to civilization. Close to the volcano national park and an 90 minute drive to 9,000 foot overlook. We visited in the shoulder season so it was a little cool in the mornings. The fireplace was a nice place to huddle while warming the house up. Rainy days were nice to watch and enjoy from the patios. The jungle like setting was very serene. Hosts communicated well prior to arrival and thankfully we had no reason to contact them during our stay. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks

The house is a beautiful design and craftsmanship. It is very private and secluded. It feels like you are the only house for miles. Location is super convenient for getting to Volcano National Park (5 mins) and Hilo (30 mins). We would stay here again.
