Mauna Kea Villa 3040 - Hawaiian Masterpiece

Great property, beautiful view of sunset. House space worked great for our group. It's a bit of a walk to the hotel beach so prepare for that. You can drive there but you end up having to walk from the parking lot as well. Again, great for our group but probably not for older people or kids. AC did not work in the twin bedroom so they really do need to fix that, it got very warm in there. Overall great stay!

The stay was very good. The pool was unusable due to all the debris in it from the high winds. But we should have called on that. The hvac system was quite noisy in the smaller bedroom, pErhaps that could be addressed. Lovely home. Mauna Kea is always wonderful.

Good walk to and from beach. Kitchen open and nice size and fairly well stocked with dishes, plates, glasses and utensils. Room situation worked out fine. But the air conditioning did not work most nights and the system set itself at 76 degrees!!! terribly uncomfortable. And it’s hot in Hawai’i this time of year. Should be completely repaired and on a schedule to be checked frequently.

Excellent house, comfortable, well-equipped. Nice having a small pool.

Our family of 5 adults and 2 pre teen children stayed in Villa 40 for 1week in Feb 2018 and were most pleased. The view of the ocean was beautiful; the walk to the beach was lovely on a well groomed paved path; and the house layout was perfect giving each person plenty of space and privacy. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. We fixed breakfast together each morning and ate several evening meals in the Villa. The WiFi and TV’s worked well and we were able to watch our favorite east coast basketball team play twice. The neighborhood was beautifully landscaped and quiet. The pool was small but was not a problem for us since we went to the beach or golf area every day. It was especially great to have privileges at both Mauna Kea and Hapuna with no resort fees. We were able to have snacks and meals charged to our account at all the restaurants and shops. The Mauna Kea Resort Services personnel were very competent, friendly and responsive. I definitely recommend this villa and the Mauna Kea Resort Services.

This villa is well-situated with easy access to the beach and resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. Could have had a few more backup supplies like paper towels, Saran Wrap, etc. but this was minor. Everything worked well or if it didn’t, staff was responsive in fixing such as garage door remote. The renovation was tastefully done and made us want to take care of it. The views are fantastic and the layout takes maximum advantage of this. This worked really well for our family and we hope to return.
