The host was easy to work with, though we never saw them. They didn't respond on one issue with the toilet, though.
Home was lovely and exactly pictured ! Beautiful quiet retreat ! The entire property is absolutely wonderful ! The home is equipped with everything you need !! Lovely stay will be back to book again !! Thank you !!
Lovely home with lots of hawaiiana. Friendly owners and a safe place to stay.
Home away from home with art all around and warm aloha Thank you Kepi and Jim! See you again!
Beautiful grounds!
Didn't disappoint- truly paradise ona budget! Large, wellappointed and comfy apartment. Really enjoyed use of the BBQ, beach chairs, towels and snorkels.
Overall, we had a nice stay. We were in the upstairs unit (steps are steep so if you have mobility issues one of the other units would be better). It had nice views of the gardens…you really felt like being in a jungle. The birds, roosters and tree frogs are quite noisy, but having lived in the caribbean, that was not unexpected. What was unexpected was the road noise, which started quite early. But it is a residential neighborhood. Sound machines in the rooms was a nice touch. The decor is lovely, inside and outside! The kitchen was well stocked. Water is rain catch but filtered and potable…we had no issues. We didn’t get to meet owners since they were off island at the time. Their residence is at the back of the property. There is ample parking.
Beautiful space and gardens. Art work is just so beautiful!
My friend and I had an excellent stay at Kepi and Jim’s Honuhale. It was clean, comfortable, and a great location for doing lots of things on the east side of the island. I would return with my family (young kids) for sure. They also have a couple of other suites that can be rented if you had a bigger group. Their gardens are so beautiful! They have a great light set up for once it gets dark too. It makes the whole place feel quite magical. The hosts were friendly and helpful.Thank you!
Very clean, 2 bedroom, lovely gardens, great hosts.
We enjoyed staying at this quaint cottage nestled outside of Hilo.
We throughly enjoyed our time at Jim and Kepi’s property. The unit was very well appointed and decorated beautifully (Kepi painted many of the art pieces herself!) Location was great and we all loved our time there. We would definitely stay again.
Good location. Safe area. Clean and well stocked. Thank you.
Lovely spot. Beautiful grounds. Unique Old Hawaiian motif. The owners put their love and pride into their units. I think there are 3 -4 units in the home but all were not occupied, so it was fairly quiet. The frogs block out any noise at night. They were very loud, but we loved their sounds! It could use a deep cleaning, and newer spices, condiments, and pans, but for the price it was a good value.
The place was in a great location on the Hilo side of the island. Clean except excess dust on the walls from the ceiling fan. Asked the hosts for recommendations a couple times of places to see but never got a response from them. There wasn’t a mention of lizards inside the house be there were many. Thank goodness my friend didn’t see them ( I scared them off)or we would have to had to move or stay. Over all for the price we paid us was worth the money. It was quite and peaceful.
We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hidden tropical place. Very friendly and approachable owners who live next door. Everything was clean, comfortable, kitchen was fully equipped. Overall a great and pleasant experience!
Nice place.
Beautiful grounds. Really nice hosts... Frogs were a little loud. Roosters early AM wake up call. Overall great time.
The hosts are super personable and thoughtful. The garden they have designed that integrates with the rooms is fabulous.
The unit had everything we needed, and was roomy and clean. Beach chairs, snorkel gear and beach towels were provided.
I would definitely recommend this place, the host was very nice and property was beautiful, lovely gardens and nice atmosphere. Thank you Kepi for a wonderful place to stay.
This was a great property and location to escape from Midwest winter for a month. There is so much to do. Lots of off-the-beaten track adventures and ever-changing landscapes. The hosts have thought of every detail--outlet strips and sound machines in the bedrooms, lots of cookware, dishes, and glassware in the kitchen, a beautiful garden and patio area, and beach towels, chairs, noodles, etc to enjoy your beach time.
We liked the bright colors and handmade art everywhere. The owners were helpful and very nice people. They have a beautiful, garden that they have turned into a fairyland with tiny lights. I highly recommend this place to stay.
Beautiful place with lovely hosts. No dishwasher in unit so that was we missed having while our stay.
