The house is beautiful and clean, the host communicated well, the kitchen is well-stocked, the fireplace made the living room cozy, and the electric blankets were perfect for sleeping. The location was ideal for us so we could go back and forth to the park in just a few minutes. The wifi works fine, too. I would gladly come back.

The Jungalow was really cute and welcoming. The environment was extremely peaceful. My family especially loved the heated blankets…my daughter didn’t want to leave! Thank you for a great place to stay while visiting the volcanoes.

Everything was great. Clean and nice cottage with 3 bedrooms, 5 minutes from Volcano NP. Only complaint is the water pressure for showers seemed low but may be perfectly normal for the area. So wasn’t a big deal.

It was just me on this trip but the house has three nicely appointed bedrooms and can easily accommodate a full family in comfort. I stay in Volcano often and I love that this home is set back nice and far from the main highway. No traffic sounds at all. Just you, the rainforest, and the birds. Host was super responsive and I LOVED the farm stand a few doors down the street. Get the haupia with POG sauce. Nom.

We loved our stay at the Jungalow. The rainforest location is beautiful and Volcano National Park is just minutes away. The fireplace was a welcomed amenity after a busy day exploring and the beds were so comfy.

We had a fantastic stay at the Jungalow. The location was very close to Hawaii Volcano’s National Park and not too far from Hilo. We were able to explore the area and have a convenient home base. Also, it was soo cute! If we ever return to Hawaii we would definitely stay here again.

So near National Park that we could take a break at the house during rain. Very well equipped kitchen with Kurdig and great tea selection. If you need groceries, buy them at the General Store in the park at the military camp. Open 8-8 and has everything. Much better than the grocery store in Volcano Village which is not even as big as some we’ve seen in the high Sierras for hikers. Only complaint in Jungalow is need more light in every room.

This home is the perfect location for exploring Volcanoes National Park. It was cozy, clean, spacious, and very well equipped. It had everything we needed. We loved the string lights on the front porch, electric fireplace, comfy beds, and chatty chickens in the yard. The owners thought of everything you could need - the coffee, shampoo and conditioner, and laundry detergent were really thoughtful touches to include. The home also offered privacy and solitude, yet it is located in a neighborhood close to the park and restaurants. The Jungalow was easily accessible coming from either Hilo or the Kona side. I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to stay in the area. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay!

The Jungalow was such a wonderful little piece of heaven in the rainforest at the base of the volcano. It was very clean and communication was very responsive. We enjoyed the location as there were no neighbors, at least you couldn't see any. Our stay was very enjoyable!

Excellent accommodations. Exceptionally clean. We have stayed in Volcano 2 times before in the Hiiaka House…which is no longer a rental. I found Jungalo Bungalow online and liked what I saw. I strongly recommend a stay here if the Volcano National Park is in your plans. …or one could choose to stay at Volcano House for hundreds of dollars more plus having to buy all your meals! We were very pleased with Jungalo Bungalow!

The Jungalow was beautiful and came with everything we needed for our group of 5. The location was perfect for our first visit to Volcanoes national park and other sights on the windward side of the big island. The wild chickens were the favorites for the grandkids. Would highly recommend and book again.

The Jungalow is cute and convenient. It was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. My 3 year old loved the chickens! We were fortunate that we were able to see the volcano erupt and loved being close enough that we could go to Volcano Park during the day and again at night.

The Jungalow is so inviting and charming! I wish we had more time to enjoy the tranquil setting and the lovely home - and in such proximity to Volcano NP! Every detail was thought of, and the host was easy to contact, and the Jungalow would be a lovely place to unwind while visiting the Big Island!

We only stayed 2 nights but I wish we had booked 4 nights. The home was spotless and had absolutely everything we needed. All three beds were so comfortable (a little softer than we are use to, but so cozy). The home is decorated with so much thought, and was a wonderful place to spend time, with plenty of space for 4 adults. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the national park, which is about a 5 minute drive. Some small restaurants and shops in the small town. When we wanted more options, we drove the 40 minutes into Hilo which was an easy drive. The roads are excellent and there is so much to do in and around Hilo. We spent each morning sitting on the front lanai watching the chickens and chicks wander around the yard. There is a full coffee station stocked with coffee, tea, cocoa and everything you need which was a nice touch. Laundry with plenty of soap, plenty of towels and we loved all the blankets in each room. Thank you! Would absolutely stay again.

The property was perfect for our visit to the Volcano National Park. It was nice that it had coffee, spices and other basic cooking supplies. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice having 2 full baths. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Just a wonderful stay. My only comment is not about the accommodations but just to plan ahead from a food perspective. We stopped at a grocery store on the way out of Hilo and bought food as a lot of restaurants close early.

Loved our time at the Jungalow. So close to the park!! Easy to “pop” in… we were fortunate enough to see some actual lava flow/fountaining! We also were blessed with a clear night… seeing the stars from the park is truly incredible. Really appreciated the fireplace and the heaters as it was definitely much cooler than the Kona side. Spent some time on the porch watching the chickens… so fun to watch them interact!

We started out by staying on the Kona side. We also knew that to go to the National Park would require more time, so we booked one night with you. It truly was not enough time. Your online listing does not do you justice. All 5 of us wanted more time in the Jungalow! Everything was perfect! Cozy, charming, peaceful and everything we needed to unwind. We will plan accordingly the next time we come. Thank you.

This was the perfect place to stay as we waited for Pele to make her appearance on Kilauea. It's an easy 10 minute drive to the national park, and Hilo town is less than 45 minutes away. The house is cozy and comfortable, nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of thoughtful amenities and charm.

Very very conveniently located! It's about ten minutes from Volcanoes National Park, and not too far from other areas of interest as well. We visited from Kona so the difference in climate was extremely refreshing. Love the consideration placed in the small things too, like heated blankets and individual space heaters. It does get a little chilly in the evening at that altitude but I love the cooler nights. Thanks for the opportunity to stay!

Staying in this jungle oasis, it's hard to imagine how close you are to an active volcano and all the destruction and lava flows there. The house is even prettier than in the pictures, and the landscaping which seems completely natural is gorgeous. The beds are very comfortable with soft, warm comforters for the chilly nights at that elevation. Wifi was excellent and living and dining rooms were quite comfortable. Our host was wonderful with excellent communication before our arrival and she left several notes and information about the area that made us feel right at home. The small village of Volcano has the basics and the people are welcoming. If you like Thai food, you must go to the Tuk Tuk Food truck at the Volcano golf course. Servings are large and her food is the best. We really enjoyed staying at a place that was very much tropical "old" Hawaii and hope to return in the future.

Location was awesome, we only were there 1 night. Would stay there again, especially if we were there longer. Nice selection of movies. Nice layout. Only negative was, I may not have read description correctly, 2 double beds and one larger. Beds were soft. Ceiling fan was out of balance and was noisy. Heater and fans were supplied. Coffee selection was awesome.

This property is awesome. Cleanliness is great. The kitchen is very well equipped with two coffee options (Keurig and a French press), and air fryer, and multiple utensils, dishes, etc. The grounds are beautiful. The location is awesome--six minutes driving time to the visitor center. However, for such a level of property (and the price), the mattresses really need to be switched out. They are so soft that they form around your body, and you cave in. Otherwise, the property is flawless--well equipped and really cute decor.

This place was so adorable. We are a family of 6 and it fit us perfectly. We loved the style and feel of the place. The house was exactly as described and stocked with everything you needed for your stay. Check in and check out was easy - my favorite part is that we didn’t have to strip our beds! The fireplace was a warm way to spend the slightly chilly mornings. Highly recommend this place! It was minutes from Hawaii Volcanos National Park.

We spent 5 nights and were happy to have three bedrooms. The Jungalow is even nicer in person than in the online pictures. Great kitchen and living area. Great location so close to national park. I did find the Q bed too soft for my taste but one double was firm enough for me.

We drove to the property around 6 PM. It was pouring cats and dogs, Goggle map did a good job of directing us to the property. It was pitch dark as we walked towards the door. (Flashlight would help or use your cell phone.) With constant rain everything around is bit slippery but that is to be expected.Rooms were well furnished and gas heater kept us warm. It can comfortably house six adults. Pantry had some basic groceries, but you should shop at Walmart/Foodland before you reach the house. You sleep to the pitter-patter sound of the rainfalls and wake up to the playful yapping of the family of hens. (Wish I we could have that experience daily!) We left at 6:30 AM to hike at Kīlauea Iki & Crater Rim Trail( 15 minutes drive from the house) It was a family friendly hike for most part. It was a 3 hours hike. I recommend carry hiking trails if you are not so athletic and also doing it counter clockwise. First hour is through a rain forest. Very family friendly. Young children can do it. There after for about half mile section is uneven. After that it is 45 minute walk on the crater. Finally you need to climb up the rainforest for about 30 minutes. We were back at the house by 10:30. Finished lunch and went for the crater rim drive at 1 PM. Returned at 6 PM and relaxed.Best way to to enjoy the volcano national park is to stay close to it and leave early in the morning. It does get bit too crowded later in the day. Check out mauna loa if time permits.

Really a great change from the Kona beach experience. The Jungalow is really comfortable and well equipped. My family and I really felt at home, and loved the cool, misty mornings with the chickens and pheasants in the front yard adding a comical touch to morning coffee. I'm sorry we didn't stay a few extra days just to hang around the property. The neighborhood is great, my teenager is trying to get me to move here!

We spent 3 nights at The Jungalow and loved everything about it, minus the uncomfortable beds. The home was nicely renovated, and we had every comfort available. We appreciated the fireplace for the chilly mornings. Be sure to check out the great book selection about the island! The location was excellent for exploring the National Park, although somewhat remote. If you're coming from Hilo, definitely hit up Foodland for supplies before you come up. We had a rooster and hens visit us daily in the morning and a couple pheasant showed up too. Nightly bird song. Beautiful property and landscaping.

Quiet neighborhood with a rainforest like atmosphere. Covered outside area to sit and enjoy coffee in the morning and libations in the evening after a grand hike around the rim. The beds were soft. The gas fireplace was awesome on a rainy evening after dinner. This place was perfect for our stay and we would love to stay here again given the opportunity.
