ONLY A DREAM AWAY...OLD HAWAII'S GIFT OF ALOHA!
With all the vacation rentals to choose from, why should you choose Skipper’s Beach Cabana? The answer is simple: if you want to experience your Kauai vacation in a town setting, choose Princeville. But if you want to be on Kauai in the natural, unspoiled beauty of Hawaii, then Skipper's in Moloa'a Valley is what you are looking for!
Skipper's Beach Cabana is a well-maintained plantation house nestled away in the enchanted Moloa'a Valley. Only a small percentage of vacation homes have air conditioning on this island, but on some of the warmer days, you will be very glad you chose Skipper’s with central air conditioning. If you look at a map of Kauai, you will find Moloa'a Bay on the upper right hand corner. Out of the chaos of tourist destinations, the modern features about this place include the peaceful comfort of this home and its updated amenities.

And oh, the beach!!! The highly-rated Moloa'a Beach is only a five minute stroll away. Since this golden sand beach is off the beaten path, you will often find yourself alone in the expansive sands. If you like swimming, snorkeling with schools of colorful fish, and secluded sun tanning, you will love Moloa'a Beach.
WHAT OUR GUESTS TELL US ABOUT SKIPPERS...
In a word, it was perfect. My wife is a tough customer when it comes to interiors and she was blown away at how tasteful, relaxing, fun, and well-though-out the place was. Every time we needed something, it was there. It had a great tropical feel and the surroundings were rejuvenating, including the cats and chickens. We enjoyed being there so much that we hardly bothered to eat out and just grilled fish about every night. We watched movies and just hung out and enjoyed time as a family (we must have watched Scooby Doo and the Ghost Pirates 7 times!). When we left for the last leg of our trip, for which we stayed at the Hyatt, we were seriously sad and depressed to be leaving our home away from home. We would stay there again in a second and recommend it highly to anyone considering a vacation to Kauai--especially if they have kids and want a more relaxing atmosphere than expensive resorts & restaurants.
Thank you and we hope to stay there again soon! Matt F.
We got back home late last night and are already missing the islands. Of the three homes we rented on the islands, yours was the best. So clean and such an impressive attention to detail we've not seen before in our travels with everything needed to make the most of our stay and the outside shower was a total bonus. The beach was perfect and never crowded.

The best of both worlds! Rural beauty and yet close to civilization--you will notice that Skipper's is centrally-located to all the fun activities Kauai has to offer. Wonderful restaurants and shopping are 15 minutes in either direction on the highway.
Come experience Skipper's Aloha on Kauai--after all, it is only a Dream Away.

Being close to the beach means that we are located in a tsunami zone. In the unlikely event of a tsunami, simply drive up Moloaa Road to Koolau Road, where you will be out of the tsunami zone.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay, everything exceeded our expectations. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, the outdoor shower was a bonus. We enjoyed walking to the beach in the mornings and going for a hike or swimming in the bay.The Skippers was squeaky clean and well organized. We also enjoyed the lanai hanging out with the sweet kitties.Thank you for creating a special home, we had a great time, I can't wait to come back!
This was the perfect stay for us! We loved the lanai, outdoor shower and all of the thoughtful amenities. The house was immaculately clean and so comfortable. We also enjoyed walking down to the beach for a swim (on the far right side) in the morning and evening after our daily adventures.Tony is very responsive and helpful!
Surrounded by a variety of beaches, one of the best a stroll away
I don’t think we have enough things to say about this property! The location was exactly what we wanted (we wanted specifically away from the major touristy areas). The house was fully equipped with everything we needed down to all the beach items and toiletries. It made for an absolutely seamless trip. The house was clean and organized. The property was very well kept. We had two adults and 4 kids with us and it was aPerfect size. Tony and Jenn were easy to get a hold of and helped us out when needed. 100% would recommend (or maybe not, don’t want too many people finding this gem!). We absolutely loved Kaua’i and will be back and stay here again!!
This property made our experience in Hawaii perfect. We loved everything about it, the fruit, the flowers, the chickens, and the cats :-) Skippers is in a great location and has so much charm.
Skippers house is immaculately clean and well maintained. It is in a secluded area with a beautiful sandy beach nearby. The only issue we had was that the AC was out in 2 of the bedrooms which were notified the night before our stay that it had been out for 2 months. This made it a little difficult
This place was awesome! 5 minute walk to a great beach, cool neighborhood, and a Great location on the island.
It was fine for a short stay, but because we love to cook our own foods it was tough on all 9 nights with what was available for cooking in the kitchen. Most of the skillets need replacing, there was no stirring/scraping spatula. There was a rice cooker and crock pot and plenty of stainless steel pots. The abundance of fruit from the yards was really nice (bananas, grapefruit, limes, avocados). There were a plethora of papaya (though all green during our stay) as well and many baby mangos that will be ready in the spring and early summer.
We had a privacy. We were looking for access to a private beach and easy access to food, restaurants and social events around the island. If I come back again, I would reach out and stay one more time. Skipper and Gilligan had the right idea.
Just an incredible property! My wife and 3 kids absolutely loved our stay at skippers! Super clean and just a 5 minute walk to one of the best beaches we visited on the island. Tony is the perfect host! Would definitely stay here again on any future trip to the garden isle!
Just returned from a 7 night stay at this adorable home on Kauai. The 3 queen sized beds were perfect for our 6 adults to sleep comfortably and more than enough space for luggage. The kitchen was fully equipped as we cooked at least one meal a day to stay on budget. I really enjoyed picking and eating fresh avocados, papayas and limes to utilize while we were there. The outdoor shower was great for cleaning the sand off after our nightly stroll down to the quite beach that was truly less than a five minute slow walk. I would absolutely reserve this home again!
Skipper's is everything you want in a rental on Kauai - plenty of room, quiet location, and easy walk to the beach! You'll also be close to fabulous coffee shops and markets (Kilauea is a short trip down the road). The beach is considered a gem in the guide book - you'll see turtles and seals as well as a variety of species of fish by the reef. Tony is a fantastic host and communication is excellent! The house is clean and well stocked with essentials. You'll find plenty of beach supplies in the garage. Not to be missed are night walks on the beach to see the stars. We had an amazing stay and will book again when we return!!
What an amazing place! I would say the pictures don’t do it justice. It was beautiful, clean and had everything we could possibly ask for. This property is amazing and Tony was so attentive to any questions I had. This was my favorite VRBO I’ve ever stayed at. If you’re having any reservations at all about booking Skippers don’t. You will be so happy you did!
We loved this house and it’s location. Perfect spot to home base and relax for our family trip to Kauai. Very clean and well stocked. Great location for quickly reaching north and east side attractions. Enjoyed the “private” community beach. Will return if we have the opportunity to travel to Kauai again in the future.
