Just steps from the beach, this spacious retreat features a full kitchen, comfortable living area, and private lanai with Pacific views. Perfect for families or small groups, with access to a pool, hot tub, tennis courts, BBQ areas, and the nearby coastal path, plus shops and dining within walking distance.
The Space:
Living Space: The open concept living area is designed with relaxation in mind. Unwind on the plush sofa, watch your favorite shows on the flat-screen TV, or step out onto the private lanai to soak in the stunning oceanfront view. The condo also features air conditioning (split AC system in living room and a secondary in the primary bedroom), and high-speed Wi-Fi. The condo has two bathrooms for your convenience.
Sleeping Arrangements: The condo has two bedrooms. The primary features a King size bed and is connected to the en suite bath. The condo is also furnished with a King size bed in the guest bedroom and a Queen pull out sleeper sofa in main living area.
Kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen includes modern appliances, cookware, and utensils, allowing you to prepare your own meals. Enjoy your culinary creations at the dining table or on the lanai for an al fresco dining experience.

The Neighborhood:
The condo is located at Pono Kai Resort in the historic town of Kapaa on Kauai. Kapaa offers a charming small-town feel, and the resort is within easy walking distance of local restaurants, boutiques, shops, and grocery stores. If you’re visiting on the first Saturday of the month, don’t miss the town’s lively event featuring live music, local crafts, and great food.
Bicycle rentals are conveniently located right next door to the resort, and you’ll be just minutes from popular ocean activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and surfing.
Explore some of Kauai’s most beautiful beaches, all within about a 30-minute drive, including Lydgate Beach Park, Kalapaki Beach, Kealia Beach, and Poipu Beach.
Just steps from the resort, you can walk, run, or bike along the scenic Ke Ala Hele Makalae as it winds along the Pacific coastline. This beloved trail has even been recognized in the Hall of Fame by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. A must-experience during your stay!
Getting Around:
Kapaʻa is centrally located on the east side of Kauaʻi, making it a convenient home base for exploring the island. While there are shops, restaurants, and beaches within walking or biking distance, we highly recommend renting a car to fully experience everything Kauaʻi has to offer.
The resort is about a 15-minute drive from Līhuʻe Airport, and easy access to Kuhio Highway allows you to explore both the North Shore (Princeville, Hanalei) and South Shore (Poʻipū) with ease. For a more local experience, the Ke Ala Hele Makalae coastal bike path runs right along the ocean and is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking.
Ride-sharing services and taxis are available but can be limited, especially in the evenings. If you prefer not to drive, there is also a local bus system, though routes and schedules may be less frequent.

The location of the condo was easy to get to and just steps from the ocean. Check-in was easy and non-complicated in the lobby. It's easy to walk into the town of Kapaa and the drive to the North or South shores is about the same. The contact person was a pleasure to communicate with and instructions were clear.The only thing that was challenging is the 2nd bedroom not having a mini-split like the living room and primary bedroom. It was too hot, even with the ceiling fan running. Just be aware should that be an issue for you.
Ocean view
Great unit- ocean view and condo with 2 king beds is perfect. Only suggestion would be to stock more pans for cooking. There is one small fry pan….and limited cookware.
Lovely rooms, spacious and clean. Excellent service, easy checkin, and lush grounds with lots of activities. Right next to walking path and close to eating spots. A second pool would be nice, the small spa was packed night and day. We highly recommend Pono Kai.
Checking in was the best i ever experienced it was so smooth and fast. We were not disappointed this unit a ground level was so ideal and the space for a family of 6 was just a good fit. I loved the room size and closet space. Wi-Fi was easy to get onto and the kitchen facilities was just right and for me the flat cooktop is my favorite. In all we are we are very satisfied and glad we stayed at Pono Kai and we are so looking forward to staying here again next July 26’
7 days in Kauai. This resort was a good value but needs upgrades. Carpet was dated and needs to be replaced. Location was superb and Friday and Saturday nights the local town came alive with street vendors and local music. Everything on Kauai is less expensive than the other islands. It still has a sense of being “in the countryside”. If you want night life and disco you need to go to Honolulu. We will be back.
Our 2 bedroom unit was very spacious. Liked that it was close to the ocean and walking path, yet very private and quiet. There was ample parking and so close to the building.
We loved the condo, the only thing that we did not like was an abundance of tiny red ant like bugs in the kitchen. We hope to stay here again.
We loved this condo! It was clean, spacious (fit 6 of us with no troubles), and very close to the beach. I would highly recommended this property!
First floor condo with walk-out patio and gorgeous views! The unit is a two bed, two bath (one en suite, one hall-accessible bath) that was nicely appointed and well maintained. The second bedroom was a bit small, but comfortable. The complex is very well maintained and has areas for different activities like croquet, bocci, and putting. Check-in/out were both excellent -- a great staff! The only 'heads up' I'd provide is to bring quarters for laundry!! One load (wash/dry) is $6.00, and there's no change machine in the laundry room. (I'm guessing you could get quarters at the front desk, but we had enough) Overall, an excellent unit -- would definitely book again!
Roomy, clean condo with the beach footsteps away! Beautiful walking/bike path just above the beach that goes on for miles. Many amenities including pool and barbecues.
The unit location is great. The water view is perfect and is close to the walking path, town and restaurants. While the unit itself is comfortable, it’s very tired and in need of updating. It needs paint, carpet, bathroom updates and more. The unit could use recreational toys. The WiFi is weak and difficult to watch tv. We would not rent this unit again but would try another one that is updated.
