Property Overview
This is a RENOVATED deluxe GROUND FLOOR unit at Poipu Sands, in the Poipu Kai Resort. It has a wide white water OCEAN VIEW down to Shipwreck Beach, where the Grand Hyatt Kauai is located. This unit faces into the trade winds, providing a cooling breeze, even on the warmest summer days. For sleeping comfort, there is AIR CONDITIONING in the bedroom, which is not often found.
This is a spacious one bedroom, 1 1/2 bath floor plan offering a spacious 1000 sq. ft. of interior living space. With high ceilings, and an open floor plan, the condo feels much larger. Unique to this unit, are glass French doors in the bedroom, which provide views of the ocean, in the distance.
The expanded kitchen design, allows for a generous area to prepare meals, when going out is not necessary. Few restaurants will have a better table with a view!
The appliance are all new, and the cabinets are bamboo. It is fully equipped and ready for any meal preparation you might want to do.
The floors are all tile throughout, and there is a window wall of glass looking out towards the pool and ocean beyond. It is rare to find a heated pool on Kauai, and this one is one of the best, having been recently renovated. There are several grill areas around the property, so preparing a meal on the grill should be easy.
Poipu Sands is part of the Poipu Kai Resort, which encompasses several condo complexes, houses, and a hotel. With a system of paved pathways, you can access restaurants, beaches, and tennis. You even have access to the Poipu Kai pool and spa, which was just renovated in 2019. It is an easy 10 minute walk down the pathway to get there.
From the condo, walk down to the ocean and hike along the ocean Heritage Trail, offering magnificent views from the sandstone cliffs. There you can watch a sunset, whale watch during the winter, or just listen to the sounds of the ocean. There is also a short walk around Makahuena Point, where you can see sea turtles floating in the surf, and have a front row seat for the setting sun.
Poipu Sands is renown for it wide open green spaces, exceptional pool, and well designed lanais that provide privacy to guests. Being adjacent to the Grand Hyatt, you have easy walking access to many of the island's best restaurants, shops, and beach. There is even a luau here that allows you to experience a premiere cultural event of food and celebration.
Poipu Sands makes an ideal base location to see all the sites and activities that Kauai has to offer. Go west to the Waimea Canyon which is only 40 minutes away. Take a day trip to the North Shore to see waterfalls, lush green mountains, and some of the beautiful beaches that dot the shoreline. There are opportunities to see the interior on horseback, ATV tours, zip lines, and even a breathtaking helicopter tour. All these possibilities await you, and a lot more.
95% of Kauai is an undeveloped natural paradise that you will want to see and explore.
The south shore of Kauai, of which Poipu is a part, has some of the best weather in Hawaii. There are many more sunny dry days here, than on the North Shore.

We enjoyed the condo, the view from the patio & the pool. All was great & kitchen had everything we needed.
Arrived about a half hour early, after receiving a text from the owner that it was ready for us..that was an unexpected surprise….condo was clean and sitting on the patio looking straight out to the breakers in the distance was great..pool was refreshing after fun in the sun days
Very nice condo. It met all of our needs.
Comfortable condo, good location, nice pool. I know it was advertised as A/C only in bedroom, but it was very hot in the condo. The day we arrived, it was 88 in the bedroom, so we turned it on and closed the door. We had all the fans running and it was pretty unbearable in the rest of the condo.
An extreme value in a beautiful paradise. Spacious, fully stocked condo (even had beach chairs, coolers, snorkel masks, umbrellas) with AC in the bedroom. A 2-minute walk to the incredible southern coastal area and a 10-minute walk to a gorgeous beach, where the sea turtles come to rest every day around 5 pm. The owner is available for anything you need. Wonderful visit!

Beautiful place, comfortable, and perfect view of the ocean
The property has everything you need, full kitchen (including coffee grinder:), beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, etc. Communication was great, very clear instructions on how to get to and into the property. Location is perfect for us, not too far from the hikes we wanted to do, beach access and plenty of places to walk to. Thanks for a lovely visit - we would definitely come back!
This condo was everything we wanted during our vacation. The booking and check in process was seamless. The condo has mostly everything you’ll need, plus some (beach chairs, coolers, water shoes, snorkeling gear, kitchen supplies, and much more)! The location allows you to reach everything in Poipu via a 5-minute drive, and has easy access to the highway to get around the island. The condo was clean, welcoming and comfortable. Beach access was beyond ideal, along with a convenient pool. Would highly recommend!!
Little out dated , but fantastic view and location
Poipu sands is a great location! Love the south end of the island so close to poipu beach where you will see many sea turtles, close to the harbor for a trip to the napali coast, a must see and also a senic drive to wiamea canyon. Will defifitaely be back!

Very clean. Nice grounds. Convenient to beaches...Shipwreck and Poipu Beach Park. Very close to pool. Had everything for a comfortable stay. Good communication with agent.
We had a wonderful time, we loved everything about the area the pool the condo itself. We would stay again at the same place.
The place does not have central air, and is uncomfortably hot unless you leave the slider and main entry door open for ventilation. There is an older portable ac unit in the bedroom- which struggles.to.keep that space.cool.
We really loved our stay. Everything was as described. Clean, well cared for, beautiful views, close to the beach and to the resort pool, comfortable bed, nice thick towels, kitchen had what we needed, spacious rooms. Loved the extras like the newer beach chairs, noodles (for floating or snorkeling), beach towels, beach umbrella, and there was a great jigsaw puzzle we put together throughout the week too! We had a great visit and would love to return sometime!!
Superb accommodations, location, and host.
I would definitely stay here again. The place has a great view and is quiet. The pool is wonderful and few people use it. The condo is showing some age with staining of shower tile, grout and rust spots. So, while not shiny and new, it was well worth it.
This condo is very clean, well appointed, easy to access and just as presented. The lanai is one of its best feaures. I loved being walking distance to the Hyatt for dining and i got a Resortpass for the day and enjoyed the pools. The pool at the complex is also quite nice.
Only drawback was the neighbors smoked
My husband and I just spent 26 glorious days in this amazing Poipu Sands condo. The pictures and location are what drew us there. I can honestly say the sounds and views of Shipwreck Beach from our lanai were even better than any of the photos showed. Condo is a lovely, spacious one bedroom, with all the amenities you could possibly need. Beach equipment,chairs,towels, umbrella, a well equipped kitchen, and beautiful large shower. Bed and couches both comfy clean. Pool and fabulous grills only a quick walk down the path. Grounds staff, pool staff always friendly and property is truly beautiful. Scott was very helpful during booking, and any time we had questions. Check in went well, instructions were perfect. We have stayed in 2 other Poipu Kai condos. This has been our favourite,and hopefully we will return in the near future. This is one of the best!
Property was very well maintained. Condo was well outfitted for cooking. Bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed views of ocean from lanai. Walking path down to Hyatt and Ship Wreck beach. You can connect to hike trails on cliff from beach area. Great location for touring island. Host was very good at communicating. Checkin was very easy.
A great quiet place to stay and close to Shipwreck beach!
The condo itself is lovely, but the location and view make it spectacular. We loved watching sunrises from the lanai and gazing at the ocean in the afternoons. We're big daily walkers and enjoyed being on the circuit of paths that take you along the coast to the Hyatt, which is less than ten minutes away, and also weaves up through neighboring properties. The check in, check out process was simple and the owner was very kind and easy to communicate with. Not many condos have A/C, but this one has a nice unit in the bedroom. Having two bathrooms was also appreciated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, as are the sofas for lounging. We were always able to get a parking spot just feet from our condo. We would love to stay here again.
We loved our 2 weeks at Poipu Sands! The view was even better than the photos. The house has everything you need. Thanks to our wonderful host who responded promptly to all our questions. Really loved the location as well.
The property was as advertised. It was in a beautiful location, a short walk to two beaches. the ground floor was great as we could just wander out of the door and walk down to either beach. The beach equipment, ie chairs, umbrella etc. was a real treat. The access to netlfix etc wasn't noticed until the end of the stay, so TV was not too exciting. We would stay at this location again.
