If you are looking for a sunny home base with a couple of beaches 10-20 minutes walking distance, this place is it! Great food trucks, small Hawaiian shops, and restaurants surrounding the area too (our favorite was the Puka Dog).
Loved seeing the gardens/ocean from our patio. Spacious and beautifully decorated condo with all amenities except salt, pepper and oil. The closet full of water toys was unexpected and a bonus! Mahalo
This was a perfect location for us! We were able to easily get up to Hanalei for our Kalalau Trail hike (if you are prone to mosquito bites like me, wear pants and bug spray! I was devoured.) in less than an hour and a half. Then it was 45 minutes to Wimea Canyon and less than 30 minutes to get to the harbor for a Captain Andy's boat tour. We LOVED the food trucks in Koloa and went there many times since it was so close. We also walked to Poipu Beach for a relaxing beach day. The condo was so comfortable, only suggestion would be to add an AC unit in the living room as it got pretty stuffy and warm for the guest who was sleeping on the pullout sofa. And we weren't allowed to leave the sliding door open at night for security reasons (which I understand completely) so that kept it pretty warm. Overall our stay was perfect and we would definitely come back again!
Our stay at Poipu Sands exceeded out expectations. Wonderful unit with plenty of room, amenities and great location.
