Guest Access:
You will receive a link to an online guest book when it gets close to your arrival date. You will receive the link by email and text. The home has an electronic lock at the bottom level where the cars are parked. A code will be generated into your guest book just before your arrival day.
The Neighborhood:
Poipu Kai is a 70-acre resort community in Poipu. The community consists of seven condo developments with their own swimming pools, an 8-court Poipu Kai Tennis Club, a community pool and hot tub, and the beautiful Green Belt, garden paths connecting the areas of the resort. The resort is between the Hyatt and Shipwreck`s Beach to Brennecke`s and Poipu beaches. Restaurants to walk to are the Grand Hyatt Kauai, the Poipu Bay Golf Course, Kalapaki Joe`s, and Brennecke`s Restaurant.
Getting Around:
When visiting Kauai, we highly recommend renting a car to enhance your experience and give you the freedom to explore the island at your own pace. While there are other transportation options available, such as the Kauai Bus, it's important to note that the bus service may not run as frequently as you might expect.
Having a rental car allows you to easily access all the incredible sights and attractions that Kauai has to offer. From the stunning Na Pali Coast to the breathtaking Waimea Canyon, having your own transportation gives you the flexibility to visit these iconic locations on your own schedule.

I would strongly advise against renting this property. It is in serious disrepair and poses several safety and comfort concerns. Upon our arrival on the first day, we encountered the following issues:Roaches were found in the silverware drawer and in one of the beds.The large outside balcony has rusted support pillars that appear structurally compromised and need immediate replacement. This is extremely dangerous.A sharp metal object is protruding from a window frame, posing a serious injury risk.The ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom does not function properly.The freezer on the refrigerator is very difficult to open and does not close securely.One of the patio chairs is broken and unusable.Two air conditioning units blow hot air in the bedrooms, making those rooms uncomfortable and unusable.The interior of the house is in poor condition and in need of a full repaint.Most of the closet doors are broken or difficult to open.Overall, the house is poorly maintained and not suitable for guests in its current condition.That said, the property management company was responsive and professional. They acknowledged the issues and refunded 90% of our payment. Unfortunately, they did not have another property available, so we had to find alternative accommodations on our own—which ended up being more expensive.Until major repairs are completed, I would not recommend this property to other travelers.
The house and location were perfect for a family vacation with multiple generations (Ages 3- 80). We were extremely happy with the place. Our stay was in May 2025.
Very nice home near beaches and walking paths. Nice pool for swimming but at a cold temperature.Home could use som landscape cutting back of bushes on driveway and update some kitchen appliances
It was not bad but had issue in bedroom for air conditioning leaking water and dishwasher was not working properly
We were celebrating a recent family member’s passing and the unforgettable memories of previous Kauai vacations. We flew from San Francisco, Sacramento Seattle and Honolulu. The spaciousness of the house met all of our needs and allowed us to walk to the beach/pool and restaurants. Although the ‘Hideaway’ was located in a resort area, the private driveway, upper and lower patios, surrounding trees and hammock made it feel like our own paradise.
Place was great! Great location and plenty of room for all. A few of the appliances however, do need replacement. The refrigerator & freezer was not working when we arrived and the sink/dishwasher had a slight leak underneath the cabinet. Fortunately our food was able to make it as management brought a smaller refrigerator replacement to get through the week. Otherwise, everything was great.
Our family of 8 stayed here for a week. It was very comfortable with plenty of room. Lots of lush palm trees & foliage surround the house protecting it from the other homes. It’s not the quietest neighborhood I’ve ever been in but there are lots of birds to listen to! I would definitely recommend.

Our family of nine fit very comfortably in this beautiful home. The whole area is gorgeous and it's a short walk to the beach. Loved it!
We so enjoyed our stay at Soft Landings. The house is equipped with everything you need for a great stay. Kitchen is stocked with all the necessities. Very roomy and clean shared spaces for family interactions and gathering for meals. There are short walks to amazing beaches and pools.
