We had a wonderful time staying here as a family of four. There was plenty of space which you will not get at a hotel or resort. We were so close to restaurants and only 15-20 minutes from most of our excursions. The beach gear was an awesome added bonus! We would 100% stay here again!

Our stay was wonderful. The views were gorgeous, and we loved how simple it was to head out for walks along the beach. One sunset, we were lucky enough to see whales right from a bench on the property.

Very pleased with everything. We had a wonderful stay, only wish it was longer!

Property was right on the ocean in a medium sized condo complex. This property is on the end of the building with views in 3 directions including the ocean from the lanai and master bedrm. Quiet and pretty area near koloa.Kitchen and downstairs renovated, upstairs not. Portable AC upstairs only. Fans in all rooms. Downstairs got hot but opening the front door let in a cross breeze.Pool, pickleball court, hot tub. Lots of stairs to go up and down. Walkingndistance to poipu beach, and the lava arch. Nice cliff walk too all the way to the hyatt grand. Beach gear provided was good.Management company communicated well with all the instructions needed.Easy parking out front.Overall a good badic cozy apartment on the water.

Overall, the condo is nice. The specific development is old and showing its age. This condo has a lot of pre furnished kitchen, bath, and laundry items- so you don’t need to hustle to the store first day/night. Plenty of beach supplies. Enough cooking pots, pans, utensils to cook. This unit uses traditional door keys. Located top (2nd) floor, so at least 2-4 sets of stairs to navigate. We felt safe the whole time. Host was communicating well and ensured we had a good trip. Nice welcome snacks provided! View is great. Breeze will keep you cool but it does stay warm in the unit. Portable A/C in bedrooms upstairs. WiFi is ok but one bedroom it’s less powerful. Condo is right next to the lava arch. Two very nice gas grills at complex but ensure the tanks are filled. Pool is right out from the condo and is nice. Plenty of space for our family of 4 in the unit. This area puts you about 20ish minutes from most towns on the south part of the island. Costco/target/walmart are 20 min away. View is great. Would recommend. Suggest to bring own laundry detergent/softner for better cleaning.

If you want sun, relaxation and a variety of options for entertaining, this property’s location can’t be beat for what Kauai has to offer. The quiet and calm environment with comfortable and clean furnishings in this unit provide so many advantages with the amenities to make the most of your time during your stay - we couldn’t get enough and would happily recommend to couples or families alike.

I originally chose this property for two reasons, the view from the balcony and the fact that it had washer/dryer in the unit. As it turns out those two things were only the beginning of a wonderful 4 night stay. The unit was immaculate. All new appliances. Well stocked kitchen. The furniture/beds etc were new, comfortable and tastefully decorated. I was a little concerned about only having air-conditioning in the bedrooms. But we were completely comfortable during our stay. The bedroom cooled down quickly and nicely by turning the unit on just before bed. The property is quiet, well maintained and close to everything. If we are fortunate enough to return to Kauai, we would definitely book this unit again.

This unit is exactly as advertised. Everything was comfortable (couches, beds), the kitchen was very well stocked, and the seating on the lanai was perfect for whale watching. All of the administrative elements were a breeze, with proactive, clear, responsive, and friendly communication. Would stay again!

We really only used it to sleep. It was very close to the Hyatt where our kids were staying. It’s in a nice neighborhood and has a great view.

This property was beautiful! The view is even better than it looks in the photos. Everything was clean and it had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked and I really loved all the beach supplies. The Manager was great and responded very quickly. There was even a really nice gift basket! We will go back.

The place is lovely. It is well stocked, clean and has everything you need. The location is great. The grounds are beautiful and the view is amazing. The welcome basket and starter supplies were greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend staying here! Communication is excellent

The condo was FABULOUS! The location was excellent - easy to walk to 3 different beaches (with turtles, no less!). Sunrises from the property were spectacular! We called Evelyn a few times with questions and she was always so helpful! We LOVED it! Thank you so much!

We had a great time in Kauai and the property was very conveniently located and had lots of positives! Couple of minor things that we were able to work through. The entire unit does not have AC but gets a great cross breeze when opening all of the windows. Waking up next to the ocean was AMAZING! And the sunset views on the property were fantastic. Entire property was clean and quiet.

Everything was great. The pool was wonderful, the accommodations were very nice although could’ve used a little bit more air conditioning. It was hot.

The place was very nice and pretty clean! The ocean views every day were incredible. We traveled with an 18 month old and there was no high chair, but they did have child silverware. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is clean. There are a lot of stairs, which was hard hauling our baby and all our stuff for the day. Overall it was pretty great!

Our family of four enjoyed our stay in this spacious, clean, updated townhouse style condo with an ocean view. It is a 15 minute walk to Poipu beach and short drive to restaurants and grocery stores. The unit is well-stocked with beach equipment and kitchen essentials for cooking meals. My one criticism is that the portable A/C units in the bedrooms are extremely loud and kept waking me up in the middle of the night. It was a tradeoff for the relief from the heat.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was a perfect south side location, close to beaches and shopping and easy access to the main road around the island. The property manager was responsive and allowed us extend our stay on the last day to accommodate a change in our boat tour. Overall the property was clean and comfortable but could use a bit of updating, especially the upstairs bedrooms/bathrooms. I would recommend this property.

Great villa in a wonderful location, close to beaches and walking trail. Perfect condo for our family of 4 to explore the island

Our family of four stayed here for our first four nights in Kauai and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect- waking up to those views did not get old! The condo is just as described. The ACs worked great in the bedrooms to cool off at night, and the tradewind kept the first floor nice and cool (utilize the front screen door and the slider screens for airflow). It was a quick walk or drive to Poipu beach (plenty of parking there). There is also a great walk along the ocean that brings you to Shipwreck beach. I ran from the condo to Poipu then back to the path to shipwreck and back to the condo. It was just over 3 miles total and a great way to say goodbye to such a lovely area. Mahalo!

We really enjoyed our stay. We has plenty of space for 6 people. I loved all the beach equipment available for guest to use during their stay. The condo was very clean and would definitely recommend to others

Love our stay! As described. Clean. Comfortable beds. Close to pool. Close to path to cliffs. Easy drive to everywhere.

We were in Kauai celebrating our 45th anniversary and had our two oldest grandchildren with us for their high school graduation trip. We fell in love with the place as soon as we opened the front door and saw the view through the back patio doors. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained around the pool area and along the coast. We appreciated having a kitchen area that was well stocked with good quality cookware, spices and accessories. Thank you for providing beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. It made the trip that much more enjoyable. The peacefulness of the area as well as the condo being conveniently located within minutes of 2 of the nicest beaches on the island was a plus. We were grateful to have the option of being able to use the A/C in the bedrooms but we loved hearing the waves and having the ocean breeze through the open windows. We are so happy that we chose this unit to spend our 9 nights in Kauai.

Overall it was a great place to stay. A little dusty. Location was good. Not a lot of steps in the stairs but tricky spiral steps to go up to the second room. The kitchen drawers should be dusted or organized. They should buy more of the suitcase stands, really helps. The place has an air conditioner but with so many remotes that we couldn’t figure it out how to turn it on. Anyway, you can leave the windows open and you don’t really need it. A great stay. . Like I said great location , beds are comfortable and clean.

Entire property complex is dated and needs some updates, however it is kept clean. The unit itself has had some nice updates. The pictures of the unit on the listing show the unit in its best light, but in person the flaws are very apparent. Carpeting and doors seem to be original and while still functional, are not on the same level as the rest of the unit. While the unit does have air conditioning in the two bedrooms, what is not explained is that the air conditioner is a large unit inside of the rooms. It is about the size of a small refrigerator. And it is very loud. It was too warm to sleep with just the windows open, but that meant trying to sleep with the loud air conditioner running. What is not disclosed in the property description is that there are three flights of stairs to get to the unit. This was not a huge deal for us personally, but my wife doesn't pack light. Had this been my parents renting this unit, there would've been no way for them to handle all the stairs. Specific to our trip, the main bathroom shower was non-functional for 3 out of the 4 nights. Though we asked about canceling our reservation after the first night so that we could find other accommodations with a working shower, property manager did not offer this, and a very minimal amount was returned for the deficiencies of the property.

Makahuena was excellent. Everything from location to weather to wonderful sunrises and walks along the coast allowed for a perfect welcome and first experience on Kaua’i. This condo did not disappoint and the property manager was very attentive and patiently answered all my questions. I highly recommend Po’ipu beach for the sea turtles and Monk seals and Puka Dog for lunch and Brennecke’s for dinner. They are literally just down the way and walking distance. We will definitely be back!

Property was very clean, spacious, and has a great layout. The remodeled bathrooms and kitchen were very nice - sometimes a rental sometimes feels “cheap”, this was very much the opposite. My family loved using the amenities such as boogie boards, snorkeling gear and beach chairs. Great views, my wife and I loved just staring at the ocean from the balcony. Would absolutely go back to this property if we revisited Kauai! Cheers!

We had an amazing vacation. This property has a view of the ocean, is in walking distance to the beach, and has a great walking trail nearby. This home had everything you might need for the kitchen, beach equipment, and comfortable furniture. We would love to come again. Thank you!

Our family had a wonderful stay at this place! Check-in and check-out was very straightforward and the property management team were quick to respond to our queries. The view from the balcony was beautiful (just as you see in the pictures) and it was the perfect location/accommodation for our family of four. Our kids appreciated all the beach amenities they provided. The weather was cool enough that we didn't need the AC in either of the rooms, and this place only added to the overall fantastic time we had in Kauai. If we ever come back, we'll likely look to stay here again!

The view of the ocean, the pool and property from the lanai are absolutely gorgeous. Property is fully stocked with soaps, detergents, paper goods, beach supplies, utensils, dishes, cookware, coffee, filters, spices, etc... Note that from the parking lot, to get into the condo, there are two sets of stairs (one down and then a second up - in case you have mobility issues). Close parking was always easy to find. Centrally located to restaurants and beaches. The complex was relatively quiet during our stay. Pool and hot tub were a nice size and never very busy. Grounds are very well kept. We appreciated the unit being located at the end of the building, so nobody ever walked by the screened door that we kept open for airflow on the main level. Air conditioning units in the upstairs bedrooms were greatly appreciated. Without them, it would have been pretty warm upstairs. Communications from the owner were timely and informative. We did not have any problems or need to contact anyone during our visit. Our family of four was greeted with a very nice welcome basket of items and note upon arrival. The views were outstanding from everywhere in the unit. Nice modern updates with all the amenities & accessories needed for vacation. Good easy access to beaches, restaurants & shopping. Nice quiet area. I would highly recommend & would stay again.

Great location and property. Be advised you can use the shower but not bathtub. Owners provide lots of beach toys, chairs, and boogie boards, which was really nice.
