The condo location cannot be beat. It is convenient to shops, restaurants, beaches, and more. There are beautiful views of the ocean from the primary bedroom and living room lanai. The interior of the condo is lacking at best. Furniture is old and dated. The living room furniture is actually outdoor furniture which seems like a good idea for durability but is not comfortable for lounging/relaxing. The kitchen is not very well equipped; there isn’t enough flatware, the plates are few and the only bowls are larger serving type bowls or plastic children’s bowls. The blender was broken and despite letting management know, it was never replaced or addressed. Several items need attention such as the louvers and screens especially in the second bedroom and kitchen. The sliding screen and glass doors are in need of maintenance/repair/replacement. Overall there is a lack of attention given to the interior of this property especially given its proximity to the ocean and the wear and tear that causes. Thankfully the beds were comfortable and the property itself is beautiful. But for the premium price we can do better elsewhere.
The unit was spacious and the location was great. However, the unit was dated and well used. Could benefit from updating and a more thorough deep cleaning.
This was our 4th time staying at this property and unfortunately the worst. The unit itself has been poorly maintained and is very dated and worn. There were stains on the carpet, furniture, the glassware was chipped and kitchen appliances sparce. The worst was the cleanliness - there was none. It was clear they never had a deep cleaning in the restrooms as the drains and grout lines were filthy, but even the surfaces everywhere were dusty and the place smelled musty. The worst however was the master bath. There was dirt in the shower tracks, counter groutlines and so much hair in the drains, the water wouldn't drain down. It was the worst rental we have ever experienced.
The is a spacious condo with a great location by the shore. The place was comfortable most of the time, but we were here during especially humid weather and there is no air conditioning. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem, but the noise at night from the ocean, the passing cars with no mufflers and loud music, and the live music from the neighboring hotel made us want to close the windows, but then there was no ventilation. There were ceiling and floor fans, which helped, but A/C would have made our stay much more comfortable.Other than the noise, our only complaint was that there were no seasonings (salt/pepper) or cooking oil in the kitchen. We were provided with trail mix and coffee, which was nice, but a little salt, pepper, and cooking oil would be a nice touch.Host company was very responsive to queries.
Great place! Thank you.
our arrival and check-in was so pleasant and easy that we were tempted to over think it a bit at first. It was definitely more spacious than the vrbo pictures showed. the 2 large rooms really should be referred to as suites. They both have large bathrooms, full privacy with in the suites, great views, unbelievable closet space and dresser space. Wi-fi was excellent, parking is literally in front of the entrance. On the ground floor ocean end there are 2 large sliding door style entrances on both the east side and the south side. Each exits out onto small sitting areas with tables, chairs and lounge chairs. The garden surrounding the unit is lovely with an enormous tree on the street side that provides a bit of privacy and a lot of shade. The unit is on the corner with beautiful views of the ocean. The pool is charming, clean with low slung Plumeria trees to lounge under. We used the BBQ in the pool area at sunset and it was definitely worth the memories made. The complex feels as if it's out of the way however there are at least 4 small shopping and dining centers within a 3-5 minute drive from the condo. The Sheraton is also within walking distance and has easy to access dining and other beach amenities that you can pay for. This condo was definitely one of the best we have stayed in and a great value for the price.
Home was clean and ready for our short stay! Absolutely amazing
We loved the privacy, the beauty of the ocean view and sunsets. The kitchen and bathrooms were absolutely wonderful. There are so many amenities. There isn’t enough room to list them however I believe the full size washer and dryer three large bathrooms and the open living area on the first floor with the kitchen and dining room facing out to the ocean was absolutely wonderful
Lots of space and great location for water activities with kids
Perfect location. Everything that was needed was there.
We booked last minute, so were surprised to find an ocean view condo at a reasonable price (for Poipu). We stayed for 10 nights. The location was perfect. It's right next to the Sheraton so cross the road, get on the path and you're at the beach in 5 min. Stroll a little further to Poipu beach. Maybe 10 min? Over the wall, we saw turtles & from our lanai we saw whales and dolphins one day while having our coffee. There's a great snorkeling spot 5 min walk to the south. Can I say more about the location? I was a nervous about a corner unit with traffic, but it didn't bother us. We were entertained with people watching - lots of walkers/joggers and it's quite the sunset spot so several cars park out front for an hour to watch. We slept with the door open, listening to the ocean. The pool was great. The condo felt huge. It had everything we needed: 4 beach/pool towels, 1 boogie board, small cooler, umbrellas, TP, detergent, shampoo/conditioner/soap. We ate in a most of the time. There are several markets and a grocery nearby and a nice Safeway and Costco in Lihue. The furnishings are older, the cushions had a little mildew from the ocean air and could be replaced, and the interior could use a fresh coat of paint, but it was comfortable and clean. We don't need fancy or modern and assume the price reflects the age of the decor. We would definitely stay again!
The sound of the surf just outside our door reduced any periodic traffic noise from being on a corner location. Perfect for walking right out our patio door to see the sunset. Very well equipped kitchen in spite of only having four spoons and 2 cereal, bowls. (Although they were requested, it must have fallen through the cracks.) Recently remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, and comfortable bed made for an enjoyable stay. We got a response within one hour to our concern about the window louvers that wouldn’t close in the bathroom. Bring your own entertainment though, as there were no games, cards or even a library of left behind books.
Needed a place to stay on Kauai last minute. Found this place well priced and right across the street from the beach. Some things didn't work, like the ceiling fan in the main bedroom, some of the window louvers, and a pane of glass was missing from a window, and one of the supplied portable fans didn't work. Also the tub in the main bedroom's bathroom has jets but the switch is covered to prevent use of them. However, for what we needed, the price and the place were amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer and for a different reason. The old Koloa town shopping is awesome as well as Poipu Beach and Shipwreck Beach.
We loved the location and the size of the condo. Beautiful condo complex surrounded by green landscaping. Right on the ocean, separated only by a small street. Upstairs master bedroom has a phenomenal view of the ocean which is literally steps away! Right next to the Sheraton resort, so one can walk to restaurant and cafe. Some slight road noise due to an adjoining street - but not too bad. However the interior left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The downstairs living room couches seemed stained, the patio furniture was old and dirty, the carpet looked like it could have used a shampooing/vacuuming. We didn’t feel at ease with our baby crawling around. The bathrooms were clean, but we wiped a film of dirt off the surfaces. The furnishings/fittings looked old, which is ok as long as they work well. There was a master bedroom fan that was simply inoperable due to a clumsy switch( and nobody bothered to repair it, despite calling them). The upstairs bedrooms were very nice and cozy, the beds were very comfortable. Amazing view from the master bedroom. Lovely plantation shutters everywhere. I felt like I would have stayed upstairs during the entire stay, and avoid the downstairs living area. A little bit more attention to detail and thorough cleaning would go a long way. When you are paying close to 500 per night, you expect to be wowed. We’ve given three stars because despite the downsides we enjoyed the stay overall - mostly due to location
We had a wonderful time at Poipu Kapili. The location is perfect, the ocean views and sunsets are beautiful. The pool is clean and lovely. We highly recommend this location to all. Only suggestion would be to add a mattress topper to the beds, they were too firm for us.
This was the perfect place to stay. I can't imagine anything better! The condo is enormous, three showers and bathrooms made it so easy for our family. The rooms and beds were big enough for us to really spread out. The location is incredible. We could see the ocean from our window, the beach is just across the street. There are restaurants within easy walking distance, the pool is even closer. The washer dryer made a huge difference in our stay also, I don't know what we would have done without it. Can't wait to come back again.
We had a great stay at the condo. Coffee, restaurants, and shops all nearby. Close walking distance to the beach and restaurants at the Sheraton. A little farther walk to Poipu beach, but doable. The condo is comfortable and spacious. Great views from the living room, patio, and bedroom upstairs. If you’re traveling with 4 people, you will need to rent beach gear, eg, additional chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear etc. There was a small cooler available during our stay. Overall, a nice place!
Our family enjoyed our stay in this condo. There was plenty of room for everyone. While we had a few issues with some of the pocket doors, the unit is pretty well maintained, and great proximity to dining and beaches.
Very comfortable condo with great ocean views from both downstairs and up. This is an end unit, so there is nice light coming in throughout. Beds are firm with good pillows and linens. Well equipped kitchen. The pool is lovely.
It was a great location and the place was spacious and clean. Needs some updating on the sliding doors and window cranks. Overall I’d go back tomorrow because the location was fabulous
Second time staying in the Poipu Kapili complex and first time in this unit. Location was fantastic -- corner unit with both side and beach side (sunset view!) patios plus closest walking distance to Kiahuna Beach. Unit was spotless and well appointed. Really enjoyed our stay.
