Rainbow Inn. Pearl Harbor View. Great for a quiet get away or bring family.

Finished up our stay in Oahu at the Rainbow Inn and it was perfect. Everything was as described and more. The location and parking were perfect for our day trips. My kids enjoyed the pool and beach supplies greatly. The cooler was convenient to throw in the car as well. The washer and dryer and kitchen allowed us to have more family time. Hosts were helpful, kind and communicative. The check-in/check-out was clear. We will definitely stay again when we return to Hawaii!!

We had the most amazing stay at the Rainbow Inn! Vicky and Grant were the most hospitable hosts. They live upstairs from the separate downstairs apartment. We stayed over Christmas and Vicky dropped off some delicious Christmas cookies which was a special touch. There were 4 adults that stayed which was perfect, or 2 adults and 2 or 3 kids would also work well. I would not recommend this if you have significant mobility issues just because you have to walk down a little hill with pavers and walk by the pool to get into the unit. I would say its perfect for anyone unless they are using a walker or wheelchair. The views were the best, overlooking Pearl Harbor. We got to see beautiful sunsets and a couple rainbows while we were there too! I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here!

Vicky and Grant are wonderful hosts. Always quick with responses to inquiries prior to our visit and then greeting us to give us a tour of the apartment and property.The kids room and pool were perfect for our 3 and 7 year old. The view is stunning. Make sure you sit on the bench under the trees and look up the valley. Tropical paradise!My only regret was not having a chance to get to know Vicky and Grant better than our quick passing conversations. Thank you for the clean, comfortable and beautiful home away from home. Oh, and for the delicious loquat jam!

Hosts were very attentive and amenities were great.What didn’t go well was that we were not expecting the hosts to be staying in the same unit as us. We paid a little extra for this stay because it was advertised as private and it was the basement of the hosts house. Hosts are very kind but we were very caught off guard and disappointed by what felt like false advertising.

Just like the pool, all was fabulous! Air conditioning, fans and guest closet with all the pool and beach toys!! Only recommendations would be a clock, maybe above fireplace. Most people don’t want to know the time, but if you have a reservation for a fun expensive event, always good to know time!Also, take advantage of the tram! Just at the bottom of the hill to go east or west!

Welcoming hosts, provided breakfast items of your choice. Home has items for guests use during stay, beach chairs, hiking poles etc.

Amazing place to stay and the hosts were WONDERFUL! Great area, so many wonderful things to do!!!!!

We stayed at Rainbow inn as a 3-day extension to a cruise of the islands. Everything people say about the Inn and hosts is 100% correct. Everything you need is there including a start to some breakfast items, beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.! Vicky & Grant go above and beyond the norm for VRBO hosts. The views of the hillside, gorge, and harbor are breathtaking. They maintain their own grounds and the flowering shrubs and views are a welcome sight to a long day! I've already recommended this stay to two other families! Thanks for a great short stay!

We really enjoyed staying at the Rainbow Inn. Vicky and Grant have thought of everything you could need, including breakfast foods in the fridge upon arrival. The property and views are incredible! It was great to be able to swim in the pool after a day of sightseeing. Everything was communicated in advance and Vicky was so easy to work with. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The Rainbow Inn was the perfect place to bring our family of four. Not only was it comfortable, had everything we needed, but it also had amazing views of Pearl Harbor!

Beautiful home, close enough to Pearl Harbor and Waikiki to visit all the attractions but far enough away to feel Zen in their lovely salt water pool. Vicky was a gracious host, making sure we had everything we needed and even shared some delicious homemade jam. Don't know when next we'll be in Oahu, but hope this wonderful place will be available.

The Rainbow Inn was perfect for our family of four.We chose the Aiea area because we knew, from a prior trip to Oahu, that the neighborhood is a perfect base for exploring the entire Island. The reviews and the photos of the property made our decision easy, and we had high hopes for our stay.Vicky and Grant and their little oasis on the edge of the valley overlooking Pear Harbor outperformed all of our expectations!Our plane arrived 9 hours late from Seattle. We kept Vicky updated on our progress and she was outside waiting to give us a quick tour before we rushed to shower, eat the thoughtfully provided and much needed breakfast, and head to our USS Arizona Memorial reservation. Being greeted by a smiling and sympathetic host, after what turned into a 14-hour layover in Seatle, was just what we needed, and we are so grateful!The lower level of the Inn, for guests, is very private and so much larger than we expected! We ate breakfasts and dinners there daily and spent most of our days out and about. Coming "home" to take a dip in the pool and relax poolside was icing on the cake.Vicky and Grant were friendly and welcoming and there to help, if needed.We would absolutely stay at the Rainbow Inn again. Thank you to Vicky and Grant for sharing their little slice of heaven on Oahu.

We had a fantastic day at the Rainbow Inn! The location is wonderful and there is always a beautiful breeze. We very much enjoyed the pool and of course the view! The rooms were very comfortable and we had every amenity we could ever need or want. The homeowner, Vicky, is lovely and we look forward to staying with her again in the future. This will be our go to location when visiting Oahu!

Had a great time staying at the Rainbow Inn with Vicky and Grant. They were phenomenal hosts and took care of us with whatever we needed. The views from their property are simply incredible and make the whole stay worth it for this reason alone. You have your own private pool, which was great for my group of adults but would be perfect for kids as well. While on Oahu my family used the bus system to get everywhere and didn’t have issues from this location. Occasionally Vicky offered us a ride to help us get where we were going faster, which was very much appreciated. Overall, had an amazing time and there is no where else I would want to stay if I returned to Oahu!

This stay was fantastic! The saltwater pool was amazing, the beds were super comfortable, and it was such a refreshing touch to have breakfast waiting in the fridge upon arrival. The layout worked perfectly for our family—our teenager slept on the sofa bed, my mom took the queen bed since it’s more out in the open, and my husband, toddler, and I stayed in the “kids room.” The only minor downside was that this back room with the twin beds could get a bit warm—adding an AC unit would make it perfect, though the two extra fans definitely helped.The location was super central—we visited Kualoa Ranch, Waikiki, Lanikai, and more, and never once regretted where we stayed. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. The bathroom was nice and spacious, and having a washer and dryer in the unit was a huge plus. We also really appreciated the extra amenities like boogie boards, camp chairs, and beach towels. All in all, a wonderful and memorable place to stay, and we’d return in a heartbeat if we visit Oahu again!

The home was very clean and in a great location to get to everything on the island. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone!

Our stay was most excellent! Vicky and Grant welcomed us - and our many family members that live on the island, graciously allowing us to have a cousin sleepover one night and a family bbq on our last day. It was a wonderful visit. Thank you!

20 years ago we stayed in Oahu. We came back for a couple days with our kids to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We could not have asked for a more perfect and beautiful place to stay. The view, the pool, the house. All of it gorgeous🌺

We were so relaxed at the Rainbow Inn. The view is just gorgeous, all needs met from extra towels, paper goods etc. There was also plenty of room and a peaceful patio to drink our morning coffee at. Vicky is wonderful and friendly - we did not want to leave!

We had a wonderful time at the Rainbow Inn! It was so nice to have a quiet place to relax at the end of our day, away from the crowds and noise of the city. I would highly recommend this place to visitors. And the views are spectacular! House was clean and had all the comforts of home.

Close to everything, views for days, quiet, clean…Vicky and Grant were the best. The accommodations were incredible and included everything we needed for our vacation. This included breakfast items, towels, beach chairs, extra linens…it was all there. We had the time of our lives and their place was a big part of that!! We will definitely be back!!! Mahola!!

Located in the hillside directly above Pearl Harbor, the location made it easy to explore the island despite Honolulu's local traffic jams. Clean unit with a pool feet from the entrance. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again.

Stay was perfect! 4 adults plenty of room for all of us. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Great communication!!!! Having the pool is a great bonus. And the view is breathtaking. We can’t wait to stay again.

My family & I stayed here for 4 nights while on Oahu. It was in a nice quiet neighborhood, which was a big change after spending our 1st few nights in Waikiki. Rental was clean and spacious enough for our family of 5. We met Vicky and Ron, who were friendly, responsive, and all around great hosts. The unit was well stocked with everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed the pool and appreciated the pool toys! The view is beautiful - it’s too bad we didn’t see a rainbow. We would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! The hosts were incredibly kind and took care of everything with great attention to detail. The apartment itself was better equipped than expected. Actually, everything you could possibly need was available. The view was breathtaking and the location extremely quiet. We would love to come back!

We enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast. It is located in a nice quiet neighborhood that is easy to get around throughout the island. It was nice to talk with Vicky in the evenings after our day adventures.

We really enjoyed the view down into the Pearl Harbor area. The pool was so very nice to relax in. The insides of the unit is unique and homey. I especially loved the softness of the bed linens & comfort of the bed. We really enjoyed our stay!

The property is set in a beautiful location. It was very rainy while we were there, so we didn’t get to take advantage of the pool. Large round flat stepping stones provided us with ease of access to the entrance of the inn. All the amenities were provided, including sun screen under the bathroom sink cabinet and dish soap in the kitchen. There are a lot of pool toys and even some items for the beach. I hope to visit again during sunny weather, but the views were still gorgeous when not raining. The host is excellent at communicating in a timely manner. There are some dogs that you may hear from time to time upstairs with the owner, but overall not a problem. Would stay again. Great spot overlooking Pearl Harbor and within driving distance to many other ideal locations.

A trip to Honolulu to see family was made more enjoyable by Grant and Vicky’s generosity and understanding. Great location, wonderful view and beautiful property. We enjoyed it very much and will return

Peaceful and quiet

My wife and I visited Oahu for the first time and had full days of beach hopping, hiking, and site seeing. The Rainbow Inn was such a relaxing and refreshing spot to come back to. Centrally located and just far enough away from the crowds in Waikiki, it was close, though not walkable, to restaurants and shopping. The views right from your window and yard are beautiful. The listing is accurate and left no surprises as long as you understand that the hosts are living in the home above. Vicki and Grant are very friendly and there to help if you need them but hardly noticeable otherwise.

Aloha-This was our second time to Oahu-we loved the location-it really was a short drive to almost anywhere on the island-the views are absolutely stunning-we saw rainbows almost every day! Vicky and Grant are very welcoming hosts-the added touch of breakfast items is so thoughtful-you really have everything you need for your stay-we did not have to go to the market at all-had breakfast at the Inn- and dined out in the afternoon-This is a shared home experience yet Vicky and Grant give you privacy-we saw them at check in and check out only. Rainbow Inn is located in a lovely neighborhood-we could get to multiple dining options, shopping centers, the bank, freeway entrance quite easily. Thank you Vicky and Grant for making our stay welcoming-Mahalo!

Better in person than what the photos show!! The place was great for our family of five. They provided everything we needed and more. I slept the best at this place than any other spot we stayed at on Oahu. Close to Pearl Harbor and a short drive to Kualoa Ranch. The kids loved the pool and we could not get over the views! So much to look at and so many rainbows!! We hope to come back one day!!!

Our stay at the Rainbow Inn was sheer perfection!! Vicky and Grant were exceptional hosts making sure we felt at home and had everything we needed for our stay. They went above and beyond to provide breakfast treats for us too! The kitchen is amply stocked with cooking supplies, including a crock pot for easy meal prep while you explore for the day. The pool and large yard were perfect to entertain two active kiddos while we prepped for the day or finished making dinner. There are plenty of beach toys (snorkels, flippers, towels, beach mats, chairs, balls, boogie boards, etc.) to keep the whole family happy at the beach. The location is ideal (outside of the city but a very short drive to the Pearl Harbor museums, hiking trails, etc.) and the views overlooking the harbor and up the valley are idyllic!! The outdoor furniture is thoughtfully placed to enjoy the morning and evening rainbows or to take in Pearl Harbor as you reflect on the sacrifice of our servicemen. If our travels bring us back to Oahu, you can bet we will be staying at the Rainbow Inn again!!!

We loved the Rainbow Inn! We stayed for 4 nights with two adults and 3 kids for Spring Break/Easter. Such a beautiful place with an incredible view of Pearl Harbor! Our kids loved the pool! We cooked several meals and ate out by the pool. There’s lots of seating and beautiful sunsets. Grant and Vicky are so kind and have put so much thought into anything and everything you could need in the house. We especially loved the closet of beach supplies and beach towels. So nice to not have to pack those things. They provide breakfast foods for when you arrive, which was wonderful. We loved the location. It’s far enough away from the city to feel peaceful and quiet but close enough to easily get where we were going quickly. The house was very clean and organized. The bathroom was big and beautiful. Since we were there for Easter we had an Easter egg hunt for the kids by the pool and around the yard. So fun! We loved coming here each day after our adventures around the island. Such a wonderful place to stay. We definitely recommend the Rainbow Inn.

What a great stay. Vicky was super helpful when we needed to make a last minute change to our booking. As we were there over Christmas we were even included in their Xmas day dinner. Great pivot point for our stay on the island - easy to get to all places. You do need a car. Great facilities including pool!

We loved staying at this property. The location was perfect! Away from the busy tourist spots. The setting is breathtaking. It's a little paradise in a big paradise. We loved the exclusive & private pool. The view is phenomenal! Vicky was Super Nice & Awesome! She stocked the fridge with what we asked for and she went out of her way to buy a blender for our use. Now that's customer service! The lodging itself was soooo clean and cozy. It felt like home away from home. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!
