Rental Details
Property Overview
If you want to be in Paia, or minutes to Ho'okipa or Sprecklesville, you'll like this location. This is the relaxed, non-touristy Hawaiian experience. Plus, Paia is the north shore hub for all sports wind and wave. And, Paia is a walk-able town.
The north shore has no high rise buildings and is the antithesis of the 'resort' experience. Rather, here locals and visitors intermingle, the waves are world-class, and there's plenty of open space. Paia has galleries, restaurants, funky shopping and a wonderful natural foods grocery store called Mana Foods. It's a pretty laid back place.
Another nice thing about Paia and Paia House is that it's centrally located. When one comes to Maui, they want the beach - there's plenty of that here. But, people also want to drive the road to Hana, see the top of Haleakala (at 10,000 ft above sea level), and check out the other parts of the island. This is perfect hub.
Paia House is located in a neighborhood. There's a peek-a-boo view to the ocean. The walk to Paia town is about four minutes. There are neighborhood sounds: people, children, dogs, and a school bus that comes through during the school year.
Further Details: All rooms have new split AC units and overhead fans. Out back is a covered lanai. Here's where you may store gear, dry it out, work out kite line tangles, do yoga, have a bbq, and kids may play. There's a yard, picnic table, hammock, fruit trees, flowers, chairs, and some beach gear we leave for guests (snorkels, masks, some boogie boards, beach chairs, a cooler, etc.)
Also, as is very Hawaiian style, the washer/dryer is outside. This keeps the heat outside too. And, if you prefer to dry things in the sun, there's a clothesline.
We also generate electricity with the photovoltaic (PV) solar panels located on the roof.
Also, we supply filtered water and Hydroflasks for you to use while traveling around. Please consider skipping the one-use plastic water bottles and use these instead. Mahalo!
Rooms are not huge, but there's plenty of space and a ceiling fan in each.
A mid-stay clean is mandatory for stays of 8 nights plus.
There's a carport for two cars.
This is a well appointed plantation-style home that's perfectly situated for a relaxing north shore vacation.

The Paia home was everything I hope it would be and more. You thought about everything and exceed our expectations in every way! The kitchen was so well equipped. It made me wish I could cook more meals there given more time. I especially love that water bottles were provided. Love that you have books there! Coffee was a big big plus! Thank you! The location was great, easily accessible to shops and restaurants. LOVE IT! 5-star stay!
The house was newly remodeled and very clean. It was well appointed and had everything we needed. Great location. Walk to Paia.
Good place within walking distance of downtown Paia. The kitchen and living room area are a great space. Nice spacious lanai but there are stairs and a gate between the lanai and the house. It wasn't too problematic but the photos on the listing make it look like you may have access to the lanai from the house. Nice residential neighborhood.
Everything we needed was there, plus many extras we didn’t expect. The house is clearly prepared with care for guests
Great stay in nice quiet location, yet could walk to town and beach. Superb!
We loved the house & the large backyard. We appreciated the beach equipment including the cooler. Check in & out was super easy. Communication was outstanding with my questions answered immediately. We would love to stay here again. Thank you!
Paia House was very comfortable. Close to town, but still quiet. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The yard was very nice and quiet. The owner was very friendly and communicated with me every step of the way. It was a great house to come back to after a busy day!
Walking in the door so pleasantly surprised to find such a clean, well equipped kitchen with open living/dining space. Light & airy rooms, large showers, beautiful private backyard space where find all types swimming, snorkeling gear. So close to number of uniquely beautiful beaches. Full size washer/ dryer.Truly just need your food & clothes. And electronics, if truly want to bring them. (You won't have time to miss them here!)
Such a great space. Really loved the hammock. The beaches were amazing. Highly recommend the general store. Darcy went above and beyond.
Had a great visit here over spring break! It’s got a nice location away from the resort life, and easy to walk to Pa’ia’s quaint shops and restaurants and the small beaches nearby. We had a nice head start on the traffic on our day trip on the road to Hana too.The home is comfortable and nicely breezy when you let in the evening air. The rooms are comfortable and arranged well for a larger family. There were some nice touches around the place - a few books to read, some kids’ toys, beach gear - that are appreciated to make the stay just a bit extra.Darcy was a great hostess and made us feel welcome and cared for too. We loved seeing the neighbour’s sweetheart of a cat who came around once in awhile.Just what we needed when visiting Maui and glad to recommend Pa’ia House to others! Thank you!
Great accommodations & location!
The house is great, super clean, well equiped and family friendly but would be perfect for anyone looking for a home away from home. Pa’ia is such a great town with lots of good restaurants and cute stores. The local beaches are really pretty with great surf. We had to drive to find calm snorkeling water for kids but that was fun because we got to explore more of the island. Ho’okipa beach which is 5 minutes drive away is great because you can watch turtles swimming in the surf and coming onto the beach. We would come back to the Pa’ia House for sure. Darcy, the house manager, was super helpful and lovely to deal with. Thanks for a great stay
The house had everything we needed. Great location - walked to the beach, shops and restaurants. Management was great to work with.
Very clean with contemporary decor. Well equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfortable with premium linens, new bathroom towels. Would recommend and return for another stay. We enjoyed the local neighborhood vibe and walkability to town and Baldwin beach, an ideal beach scene anytime of day, turtles swimming up to shore and a diverse peaceful atmosphere. Mahalo
Beautiful, well-stocked home. Hosts were kind enough to offer us an early check in. Very clean and the location can't be beat. Highly recommended.
This was the perfect stay for our family of 6! The home had everything we needed. We used the BBQ several evenings and would have dinner outside in the backyard. We picked fresh limes and oranges from the trees in the backyard to use in the morning. The property manager was incredibly responsive during our stay and made us feel well taken care of. We are grateful for the experience at this home, and highly recommend it to others! :)
We loved the proximity to the organic foods grocery stores and beaches. It was well stocked and functional
This place is awsome, Its centrally located for pretty much everyting you would want to do on Maui. Paia is awsome as well. youll love it. JUST BOOK IT
We had a great time, loved the house and had great support from the tenant. Thanks for everything.
Everything about the house was great. It is in a local neighborhood not far from downtown. We stayed the first week up at Kaanapali. We finished out our vacation here with our kids who are all adults.
Everything was nice except for the king size bed makes so much noise with every move. It
We loved staying in a neighborhood within waking distance to Paia with its restaurants, beaches, and stores. The house is extremely well equipped. The kitchen had everything. There there was ample beach equipment. Note that one of the two bathrooms is just putside the kitchen door. It's only 15 minutes from the airport, 25 from Ma'alaea Harbor (where boat trips depart from), and it is on 'The Road to Hana'. Paia House was plenty large for our family group of five adults. Highly recommend if, like us, you are not resort people.
My family and I really enjoyed staying here. We were in Maui for 10 days - our first trip there. We spent 4 nights on the west side, and then another 6 nights in this house. The neighborhood is decent, but the house is just fine and the very short walk to the very cool town of Paia is awesome. I also liked being near other attractions on this side of the island. I recommend staying here.
