Property Overview

Right on the ocean, newly renovated upscale condo. Unbelievable views from the lanai, living room, and bedroom of this condo. Close to everything! 1-2 blocks to Honl's beach, farmers market, restaurants, bars, and shops in Kailua Village. Brand new king bed as well as queen sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress for up to 4 guests. Heated, ocean-front, salt water pool with outdoor shower and community BBQ. Quiet; no noise from Ali'i Drive. Reserved parking spot. A/C and an elevator.

When comparing to other condos here are some things to consider:

* Is the condo absolutely oceanfront (not just a glimpse of the ocean)?
* Will you get oceanfront views from the living room AND the bedroom?
* Is the pool oceanfront?
* Can you walk to town and the beach?
* Is the condo in a quiet location (Many condos have a living room facing the ocean but the bedroom facing Ali'i Drive and the traffic noise).
* Is there an elevator?
* Does the condo have air conditioning?

Enjoy the best of all worlds with a right-on-the ocean condo that is just a block from Kailua Village and Honl's beach. Hale Kona Kai is a quiet complex where you will not hear the road noise from Ali'i Drive. Our large lanai provides perfect views of local surfers, not to mention seasonal whale and dolphin watching, boats, cruise ships, and more. The condo is bright and sunny, with the ocean views extending into the living room and bedroom. The condo was just completely renovated and updated with comfortable, upscale furnishings and style. Updates include a new walk-in tile shower, a new vanity, stone countertops, new appliances, new wood floors, all new furniture including a brand new king bed with all white linens and comforter, a queen sleeper sofa with a real memory foam mattress, new ceiling fans, new paint, new window coverings, and more.

So treat yourself and relax. We have what you need. This condo lets you leave your car behind as you walk to Honl's beach, to grab a cup of coffee, an ice cold beverage, a meal, live music, a massage, tennis courts, souvenirs and more. There is also a heated saltwater pool equipped with everything you need--lounge chairs, an outdoor shower, a dining area, and a communal BBQ. Don't want to drag groceries and suitcases up stairs? Take the building elevator (not all buildings have one). Feeling hot? Turn on the A/C. We also supply towels, beach towels, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, a lunch cooler, coffee, body wash, lotion and more.

One block from the charming village of Kona and a block from Honl's beach, this is one of the few locations on the Big Island where you can get to everything you need without a car. An oceanfront sidewalk takes you a couple of blocks downtown, or head south for the beach. The complex is right near a bus stop or you can rent bikes, scooters, take a taxi, or of course, an Uber or Lyft.

Other things to know before booking:

* As our reviews and ratings show, our condo is professionally cleaned and well-maintained, and we do our absolute best to resolve any issues quickly. That said, small things can come up—like a slow drain, internet outage, or other minor maintenance hiccup.
* The unit has central AC, and it typically works great. But if it malfunctions or needs repair, we provide portable AC units to keep things comfortable.
* Hawaii is a tropical paradise... and that means tropical critters. We do quarterly, non-toxic pest control (which may happen during your stay), but guests may still see pests like sugar ants or, very rarely, a cockroach—especially if patio doors are left open or if cardboard boxes (hello, Costco) make their way in.
* The condo is usually quiet except for the sound of the waves, but since we can’t control neighbors or outdoor noise, earplugs are suggested for light sleepers.

We’re just a message away if you need anything, and we truly appreciate your flexibility with the little quirks that come with life in a Hawaii home!

The condo was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. We appreciated having snorkel equipment, beach chairs and an umbrella available. Being able to walk to local restaurants was an added bonus. We definitely recommend this condo for a visit to Kona!

Immaculately clean and all up to date new furniture, bedding & towels! Loved the beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, towels) to use. Fabulous location walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars & secret beaches!

The property is at a great location. The room we stayed in was right on the water and we were able to sit out on the lanai and watch the ocean. We were walking distance from multiple restaurants and the local farmers market. The room was air-conditioned and well supplied. There were beach chairs and snorkel gear available. There were only two of us staying in the room and I would not necessarily recommend it for more than two people due to size limitations.There is also an assigned spot for parking, which is somewhat important in in this area. The owner and building managers were both very responsive.

This place seriously has everything you could need! The pool and view is lovely, we saw SO many turtles swimming, it was so fun and heart warming. The property was so clean, has its own parking spot, is super close we were able to walk everywhere for food. It has beach supplies and a stocked kitchen. Check in process was so easy and we had no issues. We would definitely come back and stay longer next time! Thank you for having us b

We absolutely loved our stay! This condo had the best rocky beach location—perfect for watching the waves crash and catching gorgeous sunsets right from the property. It felt incredibly private and peaceful, yet we were just a short, easy stroll away from all the fun: oceanside dining, coffee shops, and great shopping. The balance of quiet seclusion and convenient access to everything made this stay truly special. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

This was a great way to visit Kona. Quiet with access to an ocean side pool, but only a few minutes walk from restaurants, beaches, farmers market and shopping. The sunset views were fantastic and the dedicated parking spot is great for anyone with a rental car.

This property exceeded our expectations. The balcony overlooks the pool and ocean and it was so relaxing to sit on the balcony or from the sofa inside and watch the waves. You are literally right on the ocean such that the sound of the crashing waves can be heard from inside the unit . I had my 9 year old son with us and he slept on the pull out sofa. These are typically very uncomfortable but he said it was super comfy- I think it has an upgraded memory foam mattress. The master has a super comfy bed and luxe linens. So inside the unit , when at the pool or watching the gorgeous sunsets from the seawall of the property, you feel secluded. But take a few steps and you are next to the Royal Kona Resort and a few more steps to the heart of town. It really was the perfect mix of relaxation and action. Was also close to the nighttime Manta Ray Snorkel which was other worldly. Thank you to our hosts for a lovely stay. We plan to return. Mahalo!

The unit is clean and well supplied. The location, just off the main road is quiet and makes for an easy walk to town, shopping, restaurants or the beach. The balcony is above the pool and overlooks a popular surfing spot. I would recommend it to friends and would book it again when we return.

Listening to the waves crash below us, watching the turtle and eels in the tide pools below the pool and watching the dolphins swim in the bay were some of the highlights. Property manager and on- site help were so great. Thanks!!

Wonderful condo within walking distance to downtown Kailua-Kona. Property isn't too big so pool was never crowded and the views of the ocean are fantastic!

My husband and I booked this stay for our babymoon. We've all had disappointing stays that oversell - this isn't one! The view was beautiful, the pool was perfect, spotting fish and sea turtles from the deck. The walk to restaurants, coffee and shops was so close, as was a local beach and surf spot Falling asleep to the waves was a dream. Thank you for sharing your space with us!!

We had a great stay. The condo was in the perfect location: directly on the ocean (falling asleep to the crashing of waves...!) and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in downtown Kona. It had everything we needed and was super comfortable. (LOVED doing yoga on the balcony every morning.)

We booked an 11 day stay at Hale Kona Kai #210 and for the most part had a spectacular time. Would have been even better if not for an unfortunate event that required a few days hospital stay. But, as for the property it was/is an absolute gem. Location could not have been better. Literally on the water. The property is located only a short 5-minute walk to a plethora of restaurants and touristy shops, loved the local farmers market too. Distance from the Kona International airport is also ideal and was only a short 15-20 drive. The property complex was/is well kept and pretty much spotless. The complex pool was out of action for one day during our stay as it was being treated for organics, normal maintenance and was definitely not an issue. Our dealing with the Hosts Ineke and Brad was super from the day we booked our stay. They were quick to respond to any and all communications. The only negative I have about the property is that the bathroom is not ADA accessible. This would not have been an issue if it weren't for the injury we sustained and ended up having to use a walker. The bathroom is very small is inaccessible for anyone in a wheelchair or other mobility assistance device. As I said this would not have been an issue if not for the injury we experienced. While our stay was not a perfect as we had hoped. In no way was the condition of this exceptional property to blame. Hale Kona Kai #210 is an awesome property the Ineke and Brad as equally awesome!

Very nice property with great ocean views and sounds. This condo was clean and all was as advertised. Everything we needed was there and waiting for us. The info given to check-in and out made this a very simple and easy process. I would definitely go back again!
