New Private Oceanfront Corner Retreat by Lawai Beach

Stayed at 2 locations. Both beautiful views, very nice accommodations. Would recommend highly.

Overall this was a good place to stay. It was very clean, right beside the ocean, great location to see all the sites and restaurants, and the owners have tried to make everything easy with supplies and extras - like beach chairs, plenty of detergents, paper towels, etc. it was a good bed with choice of pillows, too. I will say it does need a little attention to a few details. Drywall in the bathroom, baseboard painting, a screen door that will not lock or slide easily, and although the sofa is very nice - the humidity has given it a musty moldy smell that in the heat of the day is very noticeable. We were here in the shoulder season of April, and the cement walls hold the heat. (I lived in Hawaii before and visited many other condos on Kauai but feel this one is a bit warmer with less air flow than most). We were able to sleep with the provided fans blowing directly on us but I can’t imagine August here. A room cooler or A/C that plugs in would go a long way in the bedroom. Overall, I would say 8 out of 10 but with a little upkeep and a plug in room cooler it could easily be a 9 or 10.

The wood floors were beautiful but in need of a mopping as we walked barefooted our feet would get dirty.

The location of the condo is wonderful! It is close to many shops and restaurants. There are a lot of great sidewalks for running and walking. I also enjoyed the view as the condo as it is right on the ocean. The lack of air conditioning was not a problem since we visited in winter. We were able to sleep with the sliding door open each night to get a nice breeze and hear the waves crashing outside our door. However, I don’t think I would rent this condo in the other seasons as it seems it would be too warm to sleep comfortably at night.The condo is in decent condition. It could use some TLC with damaged drywall in the bathroom around the tub, a screen door that doesn’t open and close smoothly, and baseboards that could use repainted. I wanted to stay in a condo so that I could cook my own breakfasts each morning, but the pots and pans leave a lot to be desired.Overall, a good experience and I would stay here again.

Nice welcome package with some basic supplies and goodies. Condo was spotless. Space was as described. Pluses and minuses overall, but no surprises.

The place was easy to locate, appreciate the side note of not to park under the trees as the car will get covered in bird poo, the place was as the photos appear and is listed. We loved our view the best. My only suggestion would be since this stay does not have air conditioning that it has better working ceiling fans and a better working standing fan to help the air flow. Other than that our stay was amazing. Thank you

The condo was clean and nicely furnished - loved being right next to the ocean - nice view and was nice to hear the waves.

This unit was amazing with amazing views of the ocean! It was nice having a full dining area, living room, and kitchen separate from the bedroom. I will note there was not AC in the unit, and there was only one additional fan. If you are more sensitive to heat it could be hard as it stays pretty warm in September.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location. Pretty much every beach was within a 5 mins drive. Our only complaint was no AC, which we knew when we were booking, we just thought it would be a little more manageable.. If you do okay in a humid climate, you'll be okay, but it was kind of rough for us.

Very relaxing, easy walk to Beach House to enjoy the sunset ritual. Lovely view from the balcony, ocean waves lull you to sheep!

Absolutely in love! Exactly as pictured, gorgeous views, even saw some whales from our lanai! We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Kauai!

The view is awesome. Condo is convenient to beach and snorkeling and walking distance to shopping. However, this unit is VERY close to the road and therefore, lots of road noise. The condo needs updating ir aor at least a fresh coat of

First, and most importantly, DO NOT EVER RENT FROM VACASA. We rented this property through VRBO believing it was a property managed locally and advertised on VRBO. It was, instead, a VACASA managed property listed on VRBO. This resulted in 600-plus junk fees: 200in fees for VRBO, a 200-plus VACASA booking, a required 79 bond, a 67 fee that VACASA charges the guest to pay for the VRBO Listing and so on. It’s a complete rip off.You see the listing and taxes as affordable, but later, when you look at the total price, it doubles the cost from the extra and nonsensical fees. Second, while the views to the right (yes, those water scenes) are lovely, the view to the left is a busy road. This unit sits as close to the road as is possible without actually being in the road. We heard traffic night and day. This is extremely dishonest photography and marketing. Note that the listing describes it as “peaceful.” I guess if traffic noise is your sense of peaceful…Third, the unit does not have AC and is stifling without being able to allow breezes in, which of course means allowing in the traffic noise, so it’s a matter of picking your poison.We asked VACASA to move us, and they refused. VACASA is dishonest and a terrible company (read the 1000s of 1-star reviews because they don’t lie). I’m sorry for this owner because the property has some nice features, but I cannot recommend this at all given its location, the lack of AC, and the truly unscrupulous management company the owners

First of all, for the strengths, the place was clean and the wifi worked well. There were also welcome snacks/gifts on the dining table, which was a nice touch. It was a cozy and good-enough apartment. We stayed here for 3 nights, and it was much more expensive than another rental that was superior on many levels, but it seems that the pattern is that rentals in this southern area of Kauai are just more expensive. Just be aware that this is an old apartment (the kitchen knives, scissors, etc. are getting old) in an old building. The apartment is overall dark despite turning on all the lights. A parasol and bodyboards would be appreciated additions (especially given the price of this rental), and I let Vacasa/the owner know.

Great unit with an awesome view to wake up to. We had an issue with the lock on arrival but the management company was extremely responsive in sorting it out. My only complaint is that the BBQ’s are way over by the garbage bins which doesn’t necessarily make you want to Grimm. Otherwise great property and would recommend.
