Great stay. Nice house, friendly hosts. Very helpful and welcoming.
Fantastic property. We enjoyed the close walk to the town and the ocean. The property is well located and allowed us to drive around the island, efficiently, from Barking Sands to the Tunnels and the state park. I also really enjoyed the owners, Tom was great to talk to and had some fantastic stories about movies and the island. I highly recommend this property.
The house is a wonderful place to relax. Myself, my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson could gather together for meals or general conversation but also could rest in their own space. The location is perfect! We hope to return!
The property is not in the first line at the beach, what we had expected. If you are fine with this, everything else was really good and it was a perfect time
This was the PERFECT property for our needs and the location was ideal. Tom & Linda were very accommodating and we'll definitely stay again!
Great host. Central location for all adventures. Close to beach. I recommend this beautiful home to all. Thanks for a great stay Tom.
The home is fantastic. We had a great time in Kauai. There's no AC, but the climate there is such that we didn't need it.
I’m so grateful that Tom and Linda make their home available for guests. They are friendly, active seniors who live next door. They care about you having a nice vacation. The home is located 1 block away from the Hwy and the center of Kapa’a town. Also, this location is on the Eastern side of the island which makes it a very convenient location for visiting other parts of the island. Don’t miss Waimea Canyon! The home doesn’t have air conditioning (it has many fans), so you have to leave the windows open. Which is lovely and commonplace for Hawai’i. However there are a lot of noises. You will hear bands playing, motors revving, sirens, trucks backing up, and garbage trucks at all hours of the day and night. It is not for a light sleeper, even with ear plugs and white fan noise. The home has a great layout. We were 5 people: grandma, mom, dad and teenage daughters. Everyone had a place to retreat to for down time. I loved the vintage Hawaiian decor. The home has a great vibe. There are lovely views facing the ocean and the mountains, including “sleeping giant”.It’s steps to the beach. However, if you want to take a walk on the bike path, you are going to run into sketchy individuals whether or not you head north or south. The beach also has a lot of washed up plastic and trash unfortunately. There is a shed stocked with beach chairs, pool noodles, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. All in good condition. There is no shampoo or conditioner, but I left some for the next guests.
Our family had an amazing week on Kauai. Tom and Linda were friendly, courteous and went beyond what one would expect from a host. We saw Tom quite frequently and enjoyed the things he told us about the island and their time on it. The house is big and had everything we needed and more for our stay. There is a view of the ocean from the upper deck which we enjoyed sitting on. The walk to the ocean was a couple of minutes and there were chairs, towels and beach toys available to take with. The town of Kapa'a is across the street from the home with many restaurants and shops. The location on the island made it easy to get both north and south for activities. We highly recommend this as a place to stay and thank Tom and Linda for allowing us to stay in their wonderful home!
A wonderful spot to vacation in Kauai! This home is spacious and clean, has an amazing view, is just steps away from a beautiful beach, and is walking distance from great food trucks and a cute shopping district. Highly recommend!
Very clean. Right on the beach. Perfect for our group of 4 adults, but lots of beach toys available for kids too. Property owners were friendly and welcoming. Lots of convenient dining nearby. Perfect place to stay on an incredible island.
My wife and our and 4 adult children/partners/friends stayed here for a week. A big place with 1 master suite upstairs and 2 beds plus bath downstairs. The deck is a great place to relax and watch the ocean. the owners live right next door and are very friendly and helpful. About a two block walk into the little town with restaurants, shops and always popular ABC store.
Tom and Linda are amazing. Great place, great location. Very clean, convenient. It's a place we will come back for sure .
Beautiful location! Thank you Linda and Tom for sharing your beautiful property! Excellent location to all amenities in Kapaa and central location for the island itself. The property is very well maintained and has everything you need for a wonderful vacation! Maloha
This wonderful property has everything you could want. It has a beautiful view of the ocean from the upstairs balcony. It is just a short walk to the beach which was never really crowded. The house was exceptional. The furniture was true Hawaiian vintage. The master was upstairs with the bath along with the kitchen and living area. The downstairs had two bedrooms, bath, living area and a small kitchen. The location was perfect for walking to shopping and places to eat. The food trucks right across the road were fabulous. There was also a market and bakery close by. The owners, Tom and Linda, lived on the property and were great! Should any problem arise they were right there. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay here.
The house was really nice and comfortable. The location was perfect: the town of Kapa'a was just across the street in the front and the beach and walking path just outside the back fence. Just as advertised and a great value. It was a great place to relax after a day of sight seeing. The hosts, Linda and Tom, were friendly and very helpful. I highly recommended staying here!
This house is conveniently located with in walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks, shops, and a walking/biking path on the beach. Bike rental place is across the street. It’s one street away from the main road, so less traffic noise. The house is well kept and clean. Like most available vacation rentals on the Island, the interior and furnishing are dated and the harsh salty air affects apparent. The beds are comfortable and multiple fans and ceiling fans kept us comfortable during our late March stay - as there is no A/C. More than enough towels available. The house had everything we needed to make simple breakfasts, do laundry, and a dishwasher.Linda is very kind and accommodating and allowed us to stay past check out for our late flight home, since there wasn't another reservation right after us.Some things to note - The house has vented windows all around so you can hear most things going on outside. There is a restaurant that plays music until 10pm but does not on Sundays. Roosters are everywhere in Kaua'i so if you want to sleep past 6am, bring ear plugs and sleep masks.
5 of us (aged 39 to a lot more than 39). Location was perfect for a variety of excursions. I recommend this property wholeheartedly.
Great property/location: quick walk to sandy beach (kids loved it), central location for day trips both north and south/west, short trip to Lydgate park and family friendly hikes, easy parking.Lovely house: spacious, 1st floor was great for kiddos, well stocked/sized kitchen for food prep & meals. Laundry was a nice plus as were beach chairs
Great place to stay with family. Many places to enjoy within walking distance. Hope to return in two years for our third stay!
This home was perfect for our family and we fully enjoyed our 5 day stay. It was close to everything and specially the food truck area. We fully enjoyed our morning walks by the beach, beautiful sunrises from the balcony and from the beach.
Linda and Tom's house is only steps away from a beautiful swimming beach and is very centrally located for the shops and food vans. The beds were very comfortable, the showers hot and powerful and the house had everything in it that we needed. Would definitely recommend!
We had an amazing time. The house was perfect. The grumpy teens could stay in their area downstairs and hangout. The happier adults could enjoy the breeze and view off the upstairs lanai. We were in easy walking distance of both the beach and shopping/food trucks. Everything that you could possibly need was provided. Highly recommend!
Great location! steps to the beach, and walking distance to shops and food. The house was perfect for all of us.
We had a wonderful stay at this beach front property. They say location, location, location. Well this one checks the box as the sunrises are spectacular and home is centrally located for those seeking to explore all parts of the island. Home is clean and stocked with the necessities you need. Thank you Tom and Linda, for being such great hosts during our stay. Until next time!
Wonderful location. The house is large and comfortable. Access to the water is closer than it appears in the pictures. Reasonable rate and hosts Tom and Linda are super friendly. You’re in a neighborhood just off the main drag so expect neighborhood activity, sometimes early in the morning.
The house was comfortable and well stocked. Not only right next to the beach but also in the heart of Kapa'a. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping.
Great location we had teenagers and they didn’t like the fact it didn’t have air conditioning 😜. My wife and I were fine. Great location on the beach with a walking path that goes 4-5miles
The owners Linda and Tom are amazing and so welcoming! Every accomodation provided with the house if very thoughtful. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay here again in the future.
The home was perfect for our needs. It is centrally located for our adventures. We did zip lining, hiking, and a high speed raft cave of the Napali coast. All were 30 min or less from the house. One of our days we just spent on the beach right in front of the house. Great food trucks, annd Java Kai are just steps away. The bar close by does have live music at night on the weekend but it wasn’t really that bothersome at all. Mahalo, until next time!
The hosts were friendly, down to earth and very accommodating. Living right next door they gave us total privacy but were available if we needed anything. We had all the comforts of home within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this Cozy Bungalow and breakfast at the Kountry Kitchen (quaint little cafe) just a short walk down the main street.
Six of us spent two weeks here and it was absolutely perfect. Way beyond our expectations. Tom and Linda are such gracious hosts. The home is in a prime location, just steps away to the boardwalk and beach walking distance to restaurants, shopping etc. we loved every minute of it. Mahalo
Close to everything: stores, restaurants, beach. We felt like locals while we were staying there, especially with all the roosters, hens and chicks .
Outstanding home! Excellent location, a lot of charm. And the owners are very nice.
This was the perfect location to explore Kapaa (simply walking from the house!) and the East side. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The home and location was beautiful and more peaceful than we could have imagined. We had everything we could need for our family of 2 adults and 2 teens. If we are lucky enough to revisit Kauai, this gem will be on our list to revisit!
