The Space:

This top-floor, 1,050-square-foot oceanfront condo puts views of the beach, bay, and Pacific right outside the private lanai. Recent updates include new paint, cookware, and three smart TVs. The air-conditioned two-bedroom layout sleeps six and includes a full kitchen with dishwasher, while resort laundry facilities keep longer beach stays practical.

Guest Access:

Guests at Pono Kai Resort enjoy access to the shared pool, hot tub, gym, and BBQ areas, along with an elevator and beautifully landscaped, beachfront grounds. On site parking and laundry facilities are available, and the beach is just steps from your unit.

The Neighborhood:

Pono Kai Resort sits on the ocean in central Kapaa, with the beach nearby and the town's coffee shops, galleries, restaurants, and small stores an easy walk away. The Ke Ala Hele Makalae coastal path runs along this part of the shore for walking or biking, and Wailua River kayaking is a short drive for a classic East Side outing. Kapaa combines beach access with the convenience of a real town, which makes it easy for groups to fill a week without overplanning.

Getting Around:

Kapaa sits along Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast, about 15 to 20 minutes from Lihue Airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring the island, though the main strip along Kuhio Highway is walkable, with beaches, shops, restaurants, and the popular coastal path all within easy reach on foot. Grocery stores and casual dining are close by. Parking is generally available at condos and along the street, making this an easy, low stress base.

We stay at a good number of Vrbo properties in the US and elsewhere and always have a positive experience. I was surprised that this one and the entire complex are so dated looking. Yes the kitchen has been updated but most of the other features and finishes have become shabby and outdated. The window in the dining area has lost its seal and is cloudy. The moldings, furniture, beds and paint need to be redone. The exteriors and landscaping need a refresh. Etc.

Great location, with incredible views from lanai. Bike and hike trail right out door. Unit has had some updates, built in microwave is out of order, but they have set one on kitchen counter. Bathrooms are old and tired…..tub shower units especially. Poor lighting over sinks in both bathrooms.

Beautiful location. Closest building to ocean, wonderful sunset and sunrise views. Top floor end unit was very quiet,comfortable, and well equipped. Grounds were well kept. Grills on property close to unit.
