It was just as described in the listing. Great location with an ocean view. Not really far at all from restaurants & groceries. While our Verizon didn't connect outside the house, the Wi-Fi inside allowed us to have good connectivity. Multiple streaming services on TV. It was very well stocked with beach items and towels. Could use a little TLC but overall was great!
House was lovely - so close to the ocean! Very peaceful and well maintained.
Beautiful view but does need some cosmetic work
We loved our stay at this house! Sandy was extremely responsive, helpful, thorough, and an excellent host. The house was perfect. The beds were comfortable and the house had everything you needed for a trip to the beach. We enjoyed the balcony and sunrises. The kitchen was stocked with everything to cook. We loved the espresso maker. Would love to stay again.
The house is a little off the beaten path but totally worth the drive! The balcony feels private and is the perfect place to drink morning coffee while watching waves crash over the rocks. At night, the ceiling fans plus open windows (screened) provide great airflow - we were actually a little chilly at night! The host responds to messages promptly and provided us all the information we might need several days before we arrived. The house is stocked with everything you’d need for coffee, meals, and drinks; and small touches like flowers made it feel like home immediately. Definitely follow instructions and keep doors closed while any lights are on. We arrived after sunset, and a noticeable amount of gnats and mosquitoes got in that first night as we brought our suitcases into the house.
Perfect little spot near Pahoa.
Incredible views, and beautiful interior. I wish the bedroom door had curtains because the light woke me up super early (and maybe something to cover all the buckets when you enter), but it was a lovely stay. Beach access would have made it perfect (and we didn’t opt for the nude beach that was closest to the house), so we did a lot of driving. Comfortable bed, cute Christmas tree, tropical paradise. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you!
Communication from the host was above and beyond. She made sure that we had all of the checkin information before the checkin date. The home is well stocked with everything you need. Location is quiet and right on the water. It is a bit of a drive to any attractions but a great place to stay if you want to be close to Volcano National park (close-ish and on the water).
This seaside property exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the gorgeous views and sounds of the ocean. I fell asleep each night listening to the ocean and awoke to a colorful sky as I watched the sunrise. The house has large windows and sliding glass doors that lead to a lovely lanai [balcony] with a table perfect for eating breakfast and lounge chairs, perfect for soaking up sunshine by day or stargazing by night. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware including nonstick pans for the perfect eggs and pancakes. I was also impressed with the glassware selection since I enjoy my drinks in fancy glasses. They had elegant wind glasses, champagne flutes, coupe glasses, margarita glasses, whisky glassware and more! The host left us chocolate macadamia nuts as a welcome treat and we truly appreciated them. There were also quality toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was also a very strong blow dryer and cozy robes! I felt spoiled! There is even a cooler and beach towels you can use if you decide to venture out. During my stay I ventured out to the Kahena Black Sand Beach and the hot pools at Pohoiki Bay where I enjoyed the volcanically-heated water!!!! This location was the perfect spot and provided such great relaxation! Do not hesitate, book it already! Lastly, checking in and checking out was a breeze and the host was a great communicator and ensured we had everything we needed. You’ll love your stay!
I looked for a property that was off the beaten path and on the water and I was not disappointed. Falling asleep to the sound of the surf every night and watching the ocean was exactly what my soul needed.
The view is even more spectacular than the pictures. In between day trips this was a great place to come back to and watch and listen to the crashing waves. Communication, directions, and information were great.
Absolutely stunning location, right on the lava cliffs with sound of waves crashing as background. Hosts responded quickly to address any issues encountered. I would absolutely stay there again. Enjoyed the geckos and chameleon...including in the house. Here's some downsides: - We lost power for about 6 hours. Transformer failure. With power out this meant we also had no water. Host brought water to get us buy. - No cell coverage (Verizon) at residence. - Internet connection dropped frequently. Drops were short period but this got a little annoying. - Place could use some TLC. Perfectly functional but don't expect elegance.
