Another lovely stay at The Whaler--the best place on Ka'anapali Beach, we think! We love The Whaler for its location next to Whaler's Village, countless dining options, oceanfront activities, and the best stretch of beach on the island. The Whaler 1015 is a lovely unit--updated and offering a beautiful view from high above the gorgeous courtyard. This unit had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We did not hear a single sound from the hall, neighboring units, or the nearby elevators once during our stay. It is peaceful and quiet! Proximity to the laundry room and the elevators were a PLUS for us, given how quiet it was. Would definitely recommend this unit to others and would absolutely stay here again.
Kitchen was wonderful, bed was comfy, nice and clean unit , and the view was incredible!!
Incredibly clean and beautiful. Fantastic views and the snorkeling was above average. Sea turtles were active and easily seen in a variety of places
The proximity to Whalers Village and the beach boardwalk is fantastic. The room is nice and updated. The free laundry was convenient too!
Couple of things:I had to have staff come up to figure out what was going wrong with the TV - Some guest had apparently DVRd a ton of shows. I think there's also something wrong with the remote.There was a dead bug in the fridge, on the kitchen floor and several on the porch which I don't think was cleaned at all.
Pros: The apartment was very comfortable. The views were terrific--the mountains were as beautiful as the ocean. The location was within easy walking distance of restaurants and shopping along the beachfront. It was super convenient to have parking available, but we paid a daily fee for that once we arrived.Cons:There was a bad smell of stale smoke(?) when we checked in. Fortunately, the property managers were quick to bring up a deodorizer for the first night. They changed the filters and did an air cleanse the next day during business hours. It was much better after the treatment.Be Warned: We were surprised during the booking process that the various fees tripled the price of the property, so even though the advertised price per night was very reasonable, the final price was much more than we expected.
We have stayed at the whaler numerous times in the past. It is an outstanding location , and the resort staff are helpful and friendly. Sadly, as we were unpacking we noticed small bugs on the counter tops and cockroaches on the floor and around the lining of the fridge and freezer door. In the evening roaches on the bed. We contacted Maui rental and they sent service , but the roaches remained with us till we departed.We found it disgusting , and I did not sleep well the entire stay. It’s always been sad to head home from Maui, but this time I was ready to leave!! Now I just have stress as to how many roaches caught a ride with me to my home…so disappointing…and by the look of the fridge door lining they have infested that unit for some time. This was not the accommodation or holiday I had expected .
Would book again.
This unit was perfect for a couple's getaway to Maui. The view from the unit is gorgeous, location is right next to Whaler's Village and many shops/restaurants, and the beach and pool are both easily accessible. There is no washer/dryer in the unit but there is a free washer/dryer in the common area just outside the door which is easy to use and close. Tennis and pickleball courts were easy to reserve, the communal BBQ is right at the bottom of the elevator, and the staff was all friendly. We will definitely look to stay here again!
Love the convenience of this property. The pool & ocean are steps were steps away from our condo. Lots of shade around the pool and free chairs to enjoy at the ocean. I loved being so close to all the restaurants in Whalers village T night and being able to enjoy breakfast & lunch on the scenic lanai of our condo! The grounds are beautiful and tranquil. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Can’t wait to go back again next year.
This unit is beautiful, felt like home. Can’t beat the view, whales were amazing this time of year.
If you've stayed at the Whaler before, you know that most of the units are pretty much the same layout, IE studio or one bedroom style. This unit is in better condition than most, and very clean with a great view of both the ocean and the mountains. It was very quiet as well. The unit came well stocked with most things compared to other VRBOs I've used. Of course, the location of the resort is great! I would say, however, that the shining star of this property is the owners. Our trip had been booked prior to the Lahaina fire and not only did the owner communicate what was happening with the unit, but with the entire area as a whole. I felt well informed and that I would not have any issues with my booking. I would not hesitate to stay at their properties again in the future and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for the great stay!

The studio was perfect, we love the whaler and it was perfect for this trip, we vacationed with our whole family this time. Very well stocked kitchen and that made it nice for when we wanted to bbq. Also a nice, clean room, but the bed mattress was hard and is not comfortable.Thank you for letting us stay at your place. Hope to be back soon!! Mahalo
