If the group is ready for cafés, casual dinner, and more beach activity, South Kihei and Kamaole Beach Park III are down the road. It is easy to create a full trip without a lot of driving.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.

the beach view is beautiful. the bed is comfy and the kitchen has great appliances. everything was first rate.
We've stayed at Sugar Beach Resort five times but always in the same unit until now. While this unit is slightly dated in some ways, it was clean, comfortable and turned out to be a fine choice for our visit to Maui. This unit was managed by vacasa which did a fine job of making sure we had all the info we needed for a smooth visit, including check in and check out, and were very responsive and super easy to work with when issues came up during our stay. (The batteries were dying on the door keypad and the air conditioning for the entire resort went out after storm knocked power out for most of the island). Overall we were very happy with the entire visit and would stay at this unit again.
The condo is very clean and organized, which I really appreciated. The side window is great and the lanai overlooking the water is fantastic.
View is amazing. So glad the beach is all back. So much was taken away in the storms last winter. You'd never know unless you saw pictures.
We loved everything about this condo! It was comfortable, cozy, incredible view and had everything we needed. we would highly recommend to anyone!
Lovely ocean front condo with everything you need for a wonderful holiday!
The views were great only issue was the master bedroom was stuffy and hot regardless of what we did.
We loved the place!!! Very well maintained and appointed. Loved sitting outside watching the ocean and listening to the waves crash on shore. Great location to most places on the island. We'll be back again for sure!!!
As close to the water as you can get! We loved this little condo and it's lovely views! Very clean and well stocked! We will miss the sound of the waves!
The condo was great! The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, the lenai view is just as described and the resort is amazing! The grounds keeping is on point, the staff is wonderful and kind, the ocean is steps away and the beach and water is everything you could ask for! We had an amazing stay- felt right at home the entire time! Would definitely recommend renting a car to get to the restaurants and shopping in kihei. We ventured to Lehanai and other areas, but overall Kihei was the best! No complaints and will definitely come again.. Thank you for an amazing stay and vacation!
