Plus, we're only a short 15-20 minute drive away from grocery stores and a variety of dining options, making it an ideal base as you explore the island.
The space includes a luxurious master bedroom with a king-sized bed, a bathroom with a dressing room, a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare delicious meals, a large dining room with a magnificent teak table, and an amazing living room to spread out and relax. You'll also have access to a shared 44-foot jungle pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens, as well as your own private hot tub where you can unwind with a glass of wine as you take in the stunning sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
We've taken great care to ensure that your stay at Ocean Lookout is as comfortable, convenient and as private as possible. In addition to free high-speed internet and towel warmers to keep your towels fresh and warm, we provide beach chairs, and towels for your use during your stay. We also offer laundry facilities on site for your convenience:)

Our beautiful 44 ft" jungle pool" is shared but you rarely see anyone else at all as everyone is out exploring the island! Also, each accommodation is landscaped for absolute max privacy ... each cottage has its own private hot tub, lanais and barbecue areas.
There is now a lovely walk down to the top of the ocean cliffs - especially spectacular round sunset when the greens are fluorescent, the ocean is blinding blue, the hills are velvet and the cows peacefully inquisitive on either side of you in their pasture. A 'must' do (only a 10 minute walk).
Our guests love their privacy - but we're always happy to chat/ answer questions etc and guests have our personal cell #'s if we're off property. We love texts!

Located on the North Shore, our property offers a true 'away from it all' experience, while still being just a 20-minute drive from restaurants and grocery stores. We cater to independent, self-sufficient, off-the-beaten-path travelers who seek to explore the authentic, 'real' Maui, rather than the plastic tourist images.
Our cozy and welcoming property features modern amenities, including a new AC, king bed, shared 44ft pool, and stunning ocean and mountain views. You can also relax in your own private hot tub while stargazing with a glass of wine.

Transportation is key when it comes to discovering the natural wonders of our stunning Maui location. A vehicle is required to reach our secluded paradise and to explore the island's hidden treasures. For the best experience, we recommend a medium clearance vehicle, as our gravel road can sometimes be a bit bumpy after rainfall. However, fear not, for a four-wheel drive is only necessary for the most adventurous of travelers seeking to venture up to Polli Polli State Forest. Let the road lead you to our little slice of heaven on Maui's North Shore.
No resort fees, free WIFI, free laundry and most importantly, lots of Aloha!
- Please note: This listing is just for Ocean Lookout (upstairs). You can book the whole house (The Lookout House) through a separate listing on Airbnb. However you will still be able to access the on site laundry and Hot tub through the lower floor interior French doors :)
-We don't do daily maid service, but will happily supply you with fresh linens or cleaning supplies. Ocean Lookout has its own private laundry.
-We make the security and privacy of our guests a priority and as such request that OUR ACCOMMODATIONS ARE FOR REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY.
Another note - we're a SMOKE FREE PROPERTY.
-We request that you please please please shower off all sunscreens/body lotions etc before using our hot tubs or pool! Also, please do NOT use any scents or soaps in the tubs as this will necessitate a complete draining of the tub, replacement of filters etc and you would be charged $100 from your security deposit. Also please rinse off after the beach as it's no fun vacuuming sand out of our hot tubs!
Also note - we're a 'green' accommodation - organic and sustainable, so you're doing yourselves and our planet a favor when you stay with us! (But that also means you might see an occasional ant or gecko!)
Also note: WE DO NOT HAVE CABLE, but we do HIGH SPEED INTERNET so you can stream Netflix, Amazon video, etc on your smart TV. We're an ideal home base if you need / want to plan a 'working' vacation, and need to conduct business calls from your place.

Quiet and beautiful spot to experience Hawaii.
This place was beyond beautiful. We stayed in the south side Maui first and coming up north to this home off a road less traveled was such a nice treat. We still felt apart of a community since there were others staying at the property and the pool was shared. So, we enjoyed the remoteness without feeling totally alone. The cliff walk was a one in a lifetime experience for us and most other people! The owners were incredibly nice and welcoming. The place is very clean and spacious. Best sunrises too! Definitely stay here if you are considering staying on the north side. Lots of rain but that is why it is so lush and beautiful!!
This was one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed on Maui. If you want to get off the tourist track, this place is perfect. Loved the views, the chickens, the hostess was fantastic and provided fresh eggs, bread and jelly, fruit, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. Absolutely delightful!
I absolutely cannot say enough wonderful things about this VRBO! We absolutely loved it. It's an oasis in such a beautiful location! We stayed in the Lookout and waking up to the sunrise over the ocean every day was perfect. If you are one to sleep in, take an eye mask as this place lights up with the sun every morning. It's so nice to wake up with the warm golden sun on your face! It is definitely remote, but in the best way! We loved staying out this far and just built in the time to get back and forth from the location. Just plan for it, and you'll be so glad you did! We popped into Paia easily for breakfast and dinner - a nice beautiful drive. Go to Cafe Amis! :) The place had everything we needed and more - every detail was taken care of. A private hot tub under the stars after a long day of hiking cannot be beat! :) Sharyn left the perfect amount of snacks, eggs, bread and amazing fruit to keep us going when we needed it. Love the towel warmer and being able to do laundry! We would stay here again in a heartbeat - you'll be so glad you did!
If you want to find a location where you can relax and unwind this is the peaceful haven for you. Sharyn will make sure you are comfortable and well cared for. I can imagine we will be back another time.
This property was a great find for our honeymoon trip. It’s super private and romantic, and removed from the typical touristy areas. It is in a more rural part of the island, but it was a great way to get a unique local experience and we had pretty good access to all parts of the island. Sharyn was a great hostess. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to adventure all parts of the island. We hope to be back again!
This place was incredible, the views were gorgeous, and the location was perfect, as its right at the beginning of the Road to Hana, and gorgeous 20 min drive from Paia, and a stones throw from the smaller towns on the island. Would 100% recommend, and would stay again.
We stayed at this beautiful house for a few days after celebrating our 50th anniversary vow renewal. Very beautiful, comfortable and peaceful place. Thanks for the goodies left for us, so thoughtful! A lot of thought was put into the comfort of guests. We had a wonderful time :) !
By far one of our favorite visits to Maui! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a get away!
We had a wonderful stay in the lookout house in February 2022! The house is exactly like the pictures, including the amazing 3-sided view of the ocean and Haleakala from the living room. We turned the chairs to face outward and watched the sunrise there every day. The beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped, hot tub warm & bubbly, and the pool refreshing (though unheated, so a bit cold in winter). The setting is super private - the only times we saw other guests in 10 days were a couple times as we were driving off the property. We loved staying in this hidden corner of Maui, which is beautiful, lush, and not crowded by other people. That said, it is remote (about a half hour to Paia, the nearest town), so if you want night life, easy access to restaurants, etc, this probably isn’t the spot for you. Hosts Sharyn and Jeff were available but generally hands-off unless needed, which we appreciated.
