Rental Details

Property Overview

Enjoy this North Shore 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in the beautiful Hawaiian countryside with stunning mountain views. It's a perfect place to unwind for your North Shore get-away. There is a Queen bed in the bedroom, and the living room has 2 pull-out memory foam sofa beds - 1 queen size, 1 full size. This rental sleeps up to 6 people. This unit has its own private full bathroom and kitchenette (no stove, but has a hotplate), plus access to washer/dryer, and is situated on a gated estate with lots of tropical fruit! There is an air conditioning unit in the living room which you are welcome to use to keep cool while you are enjoying the unit. Close to Haleiwa town, Waialua & Mokuleia beaches, hikes, surf, shopping and everything else the North Shore has to offer.

You can pick delicious fresh fruit straight from the organic farm orchards on the property - mangos, papayas, guavas, avocados, lychee, dragonfruit, oranges, grapefruit, apples, dragoneye, bananas, macadamia nuts - depending what's in season when you visit. There is a beautiful beach with a few amazing surf breaks right down the street! It's about 2.5 blocks to the ocean, about a 10 minute walk! Rinse off in one of our hot outdoor showers under the sunset sky when you come home from the beach as the moon and stars come out for the night.

The property is located in a country neighborhood with typical pet and country animal noises (roosters, dogs, etc.) There are dogs on property in a gated area. The tenants who live on property will allow them to run freely through the yard for exercise two or three times per day then bring them up to their house each evening. There is a gate with a padlock that you will need to put a code into and then manually push a gate open and close behind you every time you enter and exit the property.

This is a quiet country setting, so expect to hear typical country sounds like dogs, roosters, people & road noise. You can hear big waves crashing in winter during high surf season. You will occasionally hear EMS vehicle sirens if they are driving by in response to emergencies and the once-monthly testing of sirens at 11:45am on the 1st business day of the month. The neighborhood dogs will howl at the sirens. A few times per year, people in the neighborhood light off fireworks at night.

Long-term tenants/ other rentals on property. Please do not bring animals to this property. There is a dog on property who loves people but does not like other dogs. For everyone's safety, please do not bring animals to this property! Our cleaner also uses essential oils for cleaning the inside of the unit which are safe for human beings of all ages, but these essential oils are known to be toxic and fatal to dogs. This is not a safe environment for ANY animals to stay at.

Please do not attempt to charge electric vehicles at this property. This is an older home, and the electric system is not wired to be able to accommodate EV charging. EV charging requires it be the only thing charging in that circuit. If you attempt to charge an electric vehicle here, you will be putting your lives, as well as the lives of all our other tenants at risk. We thank you in advance for not putting lives at risk by starting explosions or electrical fires due to attempting UNSAFE EV charging here. There is a SAFE EV charging station 3 miles away in Hale'iwa town near Stonefish restaurant.

Overall, the stay was positive and we enjoyed our time there. The space is small but very comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom are adequate for what we needed. The location itself is wonderful, located close to the beach and some places we needed to get to during our stay. I would definitely recommend this location, and would stay there again, however a few things could have been better. When we were there, the weather was very hot and humid. The AC in the main area barely cooled the space, and did not have any effect on the bedroom area. A couple nights sleeping were very uncomfortable in that regard. A few more spaces in the bathroom to hang things like toiletry bags and such would have helped, but we made it work. There is also a manual process of locking and unlocking a gate, which did get tedious after a while. This is certainly not a deal breaker, but it was a little bit of an annoyance. The host was very helpful and responsive to questions, and was welcoming and friendly in all interactions. I would definitely stay again, and I do recommend this property.

It was okay. It took 48 hrs to figure out how to work the AC, & the front door to get in safely or lock it & there are many dogs on property who bark often in day and nighttime… otherwise good..:).

If you're going to surf all day and just come here to sleep, this could work. The location is good, central to beaches and towns. If you want a pleasant place to spend time after driving around or dinner, no. It's furnished with shabby, mismatched pieces that look like they're from Goodwill. Cushions on the sofas don't match, are frayed, and the armrests are dirty. The living room has two sagging sofa beds and not much other furniture, leaving room for the beds to fold out, and a window AC.In the bedroom, the queen bed is very soft. We noticed the shower door was broken and had been replaced by a curtain. There's no shaded space to sit outside, and the yard is filled with junk. I should have realized there's a reason there are no photos of the outdoors. We decided it was not for us and were willing to eat the cost after we found better lodging elsewhere.

This unit was perfect for our family of 5! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The property itself is beautiful and full of fruit trees, chickens, and super friendly dogs. It’s easy to access and the hosts were so great at leaving detailed instructions on where to park and how to access the unit. I highly recommend staying here!

Overall we thought the place was good! I’ll just list positives and negatives :Pros : quant place to stay, felt very safe, there are neighbors as listed but we only saw them once, super great to have a fenced in area to let our kids roam and get their energy out and a trampoline, a huge plus having a washer and dryer on site, toilet paper being on hand was also super great. There was a hair dryer on site as well and that was really nice to not have to bring one. Cons: we arrived super late in the evening and there aren’t really many close options to grab a water and there isnt a way to access water at the property so just plan for that if you are arriving late in the evening. On the listing fruit trees were advertised and definitely something we were looking forward to but the only tree we saw with fruit wasn’t a fruit you eat but we were told it’s a fruit you ferment and drink so, nothing readily available to pick and actually eat. One of the towels was also stained-I’m sure an old stain but nonetheless kind of off putting. Then of course the having to turn on and off the AC which I sort of understand but it didn’t flow very well to the bedroom so we were a bit sweaty during the nights. Overall I felt like it was a decent place to stay and seemed to accurately reflect the price point in which it is listed. Thanks for letting us stay at your place for a nice little getaway :) just enough warmth and sunshine for a little break from our cold weather.

We loved staying in this rental. It was spacious & thoughtfully arranged. The unit was spotlessly clean and well equipped for our stay. The kitchen was well-stocked for all our cooking abd dining needs. There was ample cookware & serveware for us to use. We also appreciated that the host provided two sets of clean towels for us as well as a washer & dryer. The area was quiet and conveniently located away from the north shore traffic. Thank you so much, we hope to be back!

Our son lives in Waialua, and closest hotel is just so expensive. So glad we found this gem. We’ll be back!

The place was small but we had plenty of room for our group. My only complaint was when you stepped outside all you could smell was dog poop and the trampoline was not safe for kids.

The advantages of staying there became apparent as we stayed longer. Initially we became aware that there was No stove, dresser space, small bathroom, manual padlock each time you entered and left the place. For children this is an awesome place as there were lots of animals around; dogs, puppies, chickens, all kinds of birds and gecko varieties. Tree swings, and a feeling of being safe and able to walk around for children was wonderful. The bed n the one room was comfortable. Air conditioning cooled down front room immediately; lots of fans. Lots of fresh fruit to pick; guava, mangos, avocados, etc. People who were staying there were very friendly and welcoming. Although not too close to the beach, had wonderful food at every place we ate at in Haleiwa and never had to wait to be seated very long. The washer and dryer were a big plus too.

Peaceful, rural feel to the place and the property. The quiet beach was a short walk away from the property. Responsive hosts to issues or concerns.

The description was very deceptive…the WiFi was slow and of poor quality, there was no hot tub or pool, the space was extremely small and the kitchen was very minimal. It stated a stovetop which equated to a small two burner electric “stove” that could barely accommodate two 2 qt. pots (we were trying to make meals for a family of 5). There was a grill but no propane. It was three rooms attached to a larger dwelling that had permanent tenants who were raising chickens and dogs on the property so we woke up to crowing roosters and howling dogs every morning. There were other VRBO rentals on the property. There was also old and decrepit shipping containers and other junk on the property like old cars and such. There is a reason there are only three pictures of the same rooms. We ended up leaving a day early and going back to a hotel.
