The Neighborhood:
This oceanfront area north of Lahaina puts several different West Maui beach experiences within reach. Pohaku Park is to the north, while May's Beach and Black Rock Beach are about two miles south according to the property information. Black Rock is a familiar choice for snorkeling and watching the Ka'anapali action; the other nearby shoreline spots make a more low-key outing possible. At Mahina Surf, the shared pool and rocky beach area mean you can also stay close and still have a full outdoor day.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 40 to 45 minutes away along Maui's west side coastline. A rental car is recommended for reaching beaches, shopping, and dining along the coast. Kaanapali, Kapalua, and Lahaina-area destinations are a drive away, while nearby beaches are often just minutes from the complex. Parking is typically available in designated lots, though it can fill up at popular beaches and restaurants.

The VIEW! Best appliances - fridge, coffee maker, blender, microwave. Top notch. Lots of available seasonings and ingredients. We wished there was a sand beach vs. rocks on the property. It was fully stocked and had more than what we needed - beach toys, towels, hair dryer, amenities, etc. It was our first time to Maui, and the weather was awful. WE didn't see the sun for an entire week as it rained every day an almost all day. There's nothing to do in Maui indoors, so we ended our trip two days early because of flooding, road closures, tour cancellations, and dirty water - which we didn't know about until we arrived. :( Not sure we'll go through VRBO again.
Hearing the crashing waves is spectacular. Loved the pool and the quite friendliness of this property. Would stay here again!
Perfect post Xmas getaway for our family
This property was absolutely wonderful. It had all of the amenities necessary for a family of six to stay. The views were unbelievable, and the proximity to all of the major things we needed to do was amazing. I highly recommend this place. As a frequent traveler, I like to make sure everyone knows about the comfort of the beds. The king bed was firm, and well worn. The upstairs beds were also firm but newer. The pull out couch was extremely comfortable. I did not feel like sleeping on the couch.
This is a great little condo community with the beach right outside and Lahaina nearby. The location is excellent — it’s quiet and safe and well located. We only found one grocery store nearby, but it worked for our needs quite well. We enjoyed watching whales from the balcony and making a little walk down the shore to see the sea turtles each day. The unit was very clean and the kitchen well stocked with all the tools we needed to cook several meals. The unit doesn’t have air conditioning, but it’s well ventilated with windows and fans.
MS221 was a fabulous condo with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable! We unfortunately had 4 days of pouring and I mean pouring down rain day and night...with 2 days that we were able to lay by the pool and 1 day we were able to walk around Lahaina without getting very wet...but we had lots to do in the condo and enjoyed our stay SO very much. We would come back to this condo anytime. You could see the whales playing in the ocean and had a fantastic view of the pool and ocean from the balcony.

This unit is very nicely decorated and laid out beautifully. It. It has a view of the pool and the ocean. There appeared to be everything you would need to stay for a week or a month just bring groceries and your clothes
This condo was amazing. The views from our balcony were a dream. It has everything you could need for your vacation. It was clean and beautifully furnished. The resident manager keeps the pool and grounds immaculate. If your looking for a quit place away from the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts this is the place for you. I cherished every morning drinking my coffee on the balcony with the birds and the ocean. We saw turtles feeding off the rocks and resting on the beach next door. I hope to come back again and I would stay in 221 every time. Loved, loved, loved this place.
