9th-Floor Mountain View Suite and Expansive Lanai at Honua Kai

The Honua Kai is a beautiful property, we love staying here! This condo was nice, with only a few minor issues. We requested sheets for the pullout sofa bed from the unit's management company, but did not receive pillow cases for the extra pillows. The extra blankets provided had a terrible smell to them (we had to wash them), and one of the sliding patio screens were broken upon arrival. The shower curtain in the bathroom was also pretty funky smelling. This unit is right next to the service elevator, but we did not hear any additional noise from it. The beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and boogie boards in the unit were a huge plus. Overall it was a good stay!

Overall, very nice room and very nice resort. The Mountain view is true but also had a significant view of the town and some industrial areas, in the lower portion of the mountain which were not super scenic. The top 2/3 of the mountain was undeveloped and scenic. Not a big deal but not really expected and some people could be disappointed. But, a good value compared to other rooms if that doesn’t matter.

Room was clean and comfortable. Nice quiet resort, great balcony with cool afternoon, breeze and view of the mountains.Great amenities. Get to the pool early if you want a seat, it fills up fast all around the resort. Great location close to Whalers Village, lots of shopping and restaurants. Great little food truck court within walking distance.

The room itself was great, check in process was easy. I was surprised that they charge for some of the equipment in the room, seems like something that is challenging to justify/track; though we don’t have kids nor did we use the beach stuff. Just a surprise. Upon arrival the WiFi was not working, I reached out but they didn’t send anyone until Wednesday, two days after I needed it for work. The resort main WiFi did work enough to make my work calls. Then when they came in they provided a “correct wifi” which was different than the initial website info, AND the printed doc provided. That worked for about an hour then the TV and everything quit. Not that we wanted chill and watch TV the whole time but with the sunset fairly early it was often our evening option. Then when I went to review check out info there was yet another wifi id and password; which also didn’t work. The welcome video is 7 years old and the process has been updated since then. I actually prefer the keypad access vs. the bracelets for sure! The couch could use a major upgrade, and the patio furniture is a little worse for wear but worked well enough. The resort as always is fantastic, other than some windy conditions overall we had a terrific time.

The property was beautiful

We had an excellent vacation at Honua Kai. The room was clean and well maintained. The resort, pools and beaches were great.

Multiple stays on this property. Kitchen was well equipped, loved having beach chairs, umbrella and ice chest available for our use. This particular unit seems to be a little run down compared to other units. Had to call. to have bed sheets/comforter replaced.

Fantastic location! The beach was pristine, good snorkeling with soft sandy entrance. Breakfast, dinner and drinks at Duke’s were delicious. Our room K930 was very clean and quiet. Only complaints are that finding parking can be difficult at night and the Mountain View has some sort of construction or processing plant at the base, so not very scenic unless you can train your gaze above that to the mountain top or over the resorts in distance up the coast. Otherwise, our stay was an excellent.
