Moani Kai was a wonderful family friendly place to stay with a beautiful beach front view!
The view was incredible, the relaxed atmosphere of that side of the island was so great, Carole was very friendly and accommodating and helped us when we needed additional pack and plays for the grandchildren. We loved the hot tub, the sport court, the beach, the porch, the barbecue grill and table set up for family dinners was awesome and we loved the atmosphere in the evenings when we turned on the lights around the dinner table and the trees nearby that were lit, it was really very relaxing and inviting. Thanks so much for making our stay such a pleasant one!

"Great home, quiet location, helpful caretaker" This home was great for 6 couples celebrating our father's 80th birthday. The house was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of space for 12 adults to visit together, and cozy nooks for individuals to read and enjoy the property. The weather on this side of the island was very windy while we were there. My brother was able to kite board on the beach outside the back door. However, the last day was still and perfect. Carol, the care taker, was friendly and provided great ideas for beaches, food, hikes, etc. Thanks Carol and Lavish Getaways for making this such a great vacation. We want to come back.

Best Weekend Ever!!!!
The Moani Kai was absolutely beautiful....the house is well equipped inside and out........kitchen has everything you would need...... outdoors had surf boards, chairs, toys for kids, towels....just bring your swimsuit!! There's enough room to accommodate the young active ones and space for relaxing and peacefulness. The property is right on the beach yet private. We will rent again!!! The caretaker was friendly and helpful.

Awesome
We had the very best time at Moani Kai. Our children and their families spent four wonderful days at this totally enjoyable home. Being residents of O'ahu and most of our family coming in from the mainland we wanted to make sure that their stay was the best ever. Moani Kai did not disappoint. Highly recommended. I'd definitely stay here again.

Exceeded our expectations!
The only thing wrong with our 5 day stay was it was too short! The house was perfectly located right on the beach which was also beautiful with soft golden sand. We enjoyed lunches and drinks on the lanai with the gorgeous yard sloping to the beach. The house has a wide open feel and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking for 2 or 12. (The caretaker) was sweet and helpful and a pleasure to work with. Lavish Getaways did an excellent job presenting several options of properties for us to pick from. We can't thank everyone enough for helping us have our dream wedding.

We loved this place!
This house was perfect for our group of married children & our grandkids. It was even better than the pictures could show. We had so much space and the kids all commented how we never felt crowded. The yard was so great for the kids to run around in when they were done with the sand. The beach was so beautiful in a bay which had a break so the surf wasn't too scary for the little ones. The sport court was fun, too! The hot tub was working great. A guy even came mid-week to clean it. It was especially nice after a day at the beach! The caretaker was adorable and friendly. She checked in with us to make sure we didn't need anything but was never invasive. We found plenty to do right around the area. Lots of fun food places. Loved Papa Ole's for breakfast. My husband was on grill duty for dinners and commented that a newer and bigger BBQ would be great, but we were grateful for all of the extras provided that we weren't expecting. There are 2 washers & 2 dryers to use which was so helpful for our big group. The unit provided plenty of beach & bath towels, lots of chairs in the yard for hanging out, and even beach toys for the kids. There were boogie boards & surf boards. There was DW soap & even TP...Just a few nice things we didn't have to run out & buy! Our biggest Thank You to the owners & rental agency & the caretaker for helping our family vacation be the best it could be! Everyone loved it so much and we really hope we can come back again!! You gotta come here if you want to get away from the crazy Waikiki and feel how Hawaii is supposed to be.

We loved the outdoor areas and the beach access. The house had so many things available such as beach toys and chairs and the kitchen had all needed cookware
The location was wonderful! There was plenty of space for our whole family. The AC in the bedrooms worked great. We loved having a sport court. Upstairs issues: pretty hot in living area, padlock is difficult to work & use. Downstairs issues: bathroom shower door installed incorrectly causing water to spray out, stovetop only works on very low or super hot & the oven takes forever to bake things. Overall we had a great stay. Suggestions would be to use a gate code that has an automatic open/shut instead of difficult padlocks. A light or sign would be helpful to see from the road as it’s hard to find in the dark.
Check-in was smooth and Carol was fantastic! Both kitchens were well stocked with everyone you could possibly need.
Great stay on the North Shore. House was perfect for our group of 10.
This was our first time staying on the North Shore of Oahu. The area itself is absolutely beautiful, and we’ve always loved our time in Hawaii — this was our seventh visit, having stayed multiple times on Maui and Kauai. We chose this property because it accommodated our two families and offered oceanfront access. While the location is undoubtedly the highlight, the house itself is in need of significant updates to justify the high price point. The rental is marketed at a luxury level, but unfortunately, it falls short of that expectation. The management team was responsive and addressed a few issues during our stay, which we appreciated. However, the overall condition of the home left a lot to be desired. Access to the property involves using padlocks at both the gate and the house, which felt dated and inconvenient. The laundry is located outside, and we had to carry our luggage across the lawn to reach the entrance. The advertised sports court was in poor condition and essentially unusable. The beach directly in front of the house is rocky and not ideal for swimming — especially during our March stay when the waves were very strong.Carol, the host, was kind and helpful throughout, but there’s only so much she can do given the state of the property.Ultimately, we would not stay at this home again. It has potential due to its location, but it’s in serious need of renovation and modernization if it’s going to continue to be offered at premium rates.
We were very pleased with our decision to stay at Moani Kai. We had 12 family members ranging from 73 to nine years old. The house itself was clean with well-appointed kitchens in terms of dishes and pot & pans. The toaster in one unit didn’t work, and there were no seasonings on hand- not even salt and pepper. There is a nice gas grill outside that ran out of propane in the middle of using it. We were able to complete cooking on an indoor grill from the upper unit, and the propane was refilled the next day. Beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were small, but updated and clean. There is laundry attached to the house with two washers and two dryers. This was a big bonus with so many people in our group. The kids enjoyed the pickleball court. The view at this property is outstanding! Watching the sunrise on morning walks on the beach was the best way to start the day, and the view from either lanai or even from inside the house was incredible. The wind from the ocean did strengthen throughout the day which made it very noisy when sitting outside. We could not get the hot tub above 98 degrees, so it was more of a lukewarm tub. We really liked the location of the property. There is a great food truck park down the street and a grocery store within five minutes. The grocery store is in a dry county, so you’ll have to purchase alcohol elsewhere. Overall we were very happy with our stay at Moani Kai and would not hesitate to stay here again.
We had an amazing time
Loved the property and Carol is a gem....I highly recommend this property
The location, the company & the island. We loved every minute. Carol, the host, was one of the most thoughtful hosts we have ever come across. We traveled with our 4 teenage kids & my elderly parents and in-laws and Carol helped us get a few extra items we needed to help them feel comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here again.
The home was perfect for our extended family of 12. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything (kitchen utensils, paper products, water toys, games -- well beyond the norm)! The location is gorgeous. And to top it off, the service was unbeatable! Every question and need was immediately addressed. We highly recommend this property!
Overall, the property was very nice and the proximity to the beach was great. Local traffic made driving anywhere in the area difficult, but unavoidable. The caretaker kept in touch, but we never met her, but there were no problems that she needed to be there for. Fortunately, the maintenance handyman was very helpful, although he was working on a project the entire stay (in the crawl-space under the house).
I expected it to be just a little more up to date and definitely a lot more cleaner. I’m a detail person. The screens were dirty. I feel the home needed a good washing outside and detailed cleaning inside. The refrigerator was clean. There was a musty smell of some sort in the home particularly in the upstairs and there definitely needs to be a way to keep the other rooms cooler. Terribly warm upstairs. But the property was fantastic for our group and it wasn’t so fancy that I didn’t have to keep watch of the kids constantly. You might check the wiring for the jacuzzi. My son in law jiggled something and we were then able to get the jets turned on and didn’t have a problem after that. But all in all we all had a good time together and enjoyed the location!
This house was a perfect fit for our family group of 13 ages 1-63 years old. The grandkids especially loved the yard with the large grassy area to play in after a long day at the beach or site seeing. We couldn't get the grill to work so we just went and ordered from the nearby food trucks again, yummy! The location was great for our adventures and away from the hustle of Honolulu. The 4 main bedrooms had a/c but the rest of the house including the 2 twin bedrooms were at times too hot for comfort. The house was perfect for us, but just know that it is more rustic than the pictures show. Overall we loved the house and would not hesitate to return.
Comfortable home, beautiful yard, right on a quiet beach, with a pickleball court, couldn’t ask for more. We had a family group of 14 and had plenty of room. Hot tub was clean and was enjoyed on cooler evenings. Restaurants, groceries, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, and more are all close by. Would definitely stay again.
The property managers (Rental Adviser) were not helpful with communication throughout the booking process and pre check-in. The house itself was pretty good, EXCEPT for the roosters. These roosters (there were at least 3) crowed all throughout the night and day. Everyone in our party was woken up by them every morning and sometimes as early 3:30am. This made it difficult for everyone to enjoy the stay due to not getting much sleep. There was a super raggedy orange construction fence that made the view unsightly which is set between the house and the beach. You also have to walk around it to get to the beach and it’s a little awkward. I have to say though, it’s not a far walk which was a plus. There are a few positives of this place. The most important one being the property care taker because he was excellent and extremely helpful. He might have been the best part of the whole experience. And the close access to the beach and food trucks was nice, too. Those are the only reasons we are giving this place 2 stars.
