We stayed at this unit for a week - my husband and I and our teenage son, and my in-laws. The location is perfect, the directions were clear, and the unit’s furnishings were high end but still felt comfortable and casual. Overall 10/10. We’d choose this unit again.
The original condo we expected had a problem with air conditioning, so Kona offered us a substitute. We didn’t know what to expect, but it was absolutely beautiful. There were ample beach items, absolutely lovely furnishings, an outdoor bar area and room for family members staying at three additional condos at Mauna Lani Estates to enjoy a meal on the outdoor patio Together. The furnishings were lovely and beds were comfortable. We would definitely choose to stay there again.
We had another wonderful vacation at this property that we have enjoyed more than once.
We loved our stay at the Mauna Lani Terraces! Our unit was loaded with everything we needed and then some!! The updated pool area is wonderful as well as the location to the beach/beach club and restaurants nearby. An unexpected bonus, membership to the sports and fitness center where my husband enjoyed many rounds of pickleball as well as lessons while I enjoyed the workout area. We loved it so much, we have booked again for next year. :-)
Pros: Location is terrific, close to water, great view. The beds are comfortable, and the pool area is close by clean and nice. We enjoyed our stay, but want to bring a few things to the attention of the owners and management as well as future renters. The place is in great need of an upgrade. The refrigerator door has a dent in it, does not stay closed and needs to be checked, as well as damage to the outside of the door. Two kitchen towels were provided for a 3 week stay. None of the screen doors lock, and the bedroom screen came off the rail, and the frame came away from the wall in the master bedroom when the glass door was opened and or locked. The sheets and towels need to be upgraded-even a bit would help. The bath towels are like used gym towels, and when we asked for a few more, we were told that we could wash them. For the price, and a 3 week stay, I think there is a better solution. There are no pads on the chaise lounge, and when I asked management, I was told they could see if the owners would buy some. Some of this is just a matter of providing to match the price and a bit more comfort. But definitely in need of an upgrade. Management was kind and responsive when we asked for clean placemats and a few towels that were delivered. We recognize these are small incidentals but definitely even minute amenities..for this price range...need attention to detail.
Loved the location and the livability of the home. We’ll be back to stay here on our next trip to The Big Island.
We really enjoyed our time here. It was private, quiet and absolutely stunning. It was a short walk to a very private beach. We would be go back!
We stayed on this property a few months ago and loved it all so much that we came back again. This was a different unit for us, and still a great layout and accommodation. Everything was in good working order and no issues, which is how a vacation should be.
But the property and distance to beaches not ideal
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condominium. Fanatastic view and location to the ocean. The condominium is very spacious for a family of 4, tastefully decorated and updated. We loved the use of the outdoor kitchen/grills near the pool area as well as the cabana chaise lounges located on the beach We found the Mauna Lani complex to be well maintained and very quiet. All in all a very wonderful relaxing family vacation. Our only negative comment: the kitchen lacks certain staple condiments such as seasonings for those who like to cook!
