No other condo on Maui can beat this beachfront location and upscale modernity mixed with Hawaiian beachfront chic. Full remodel finished in December 2023.
Located in the oceanfront B Building, the entire unit faces outwards over the Pacific Ocean through a fifteen foot length glass door. The first thing visitors say is, “oh god, it looks exactly like the pictures. Wow.”
Through the door, the lanai has a view that makes even the locals say, "wow." Even the professional pictures I had done don’t do the experience justice. You will fall in love with it instantly, it is truly amazing.
The lanai is the perfect place for you to relax and find peace watching the ocean, easily spot whales playing in the Pacific, watch the unobstructed sunsets, and stargaze and relax. You can also bbq under the sun from the privacy of your own lanai, which is rare on Maui.
In front of the condo is Chang’s beach, more commonly referred to as “turtle town.” If you take a snorkel tour of South Maui, those boats will likely take you to these shores to experience some of Maui’s most lively snorkeling. You will see turtles if you snorkel here, they are everywhere at Chang’s. Many guests have taken themselves on their own whale watch trip by paddle boarding in the morning. (Paddleboards and Kayaks are not provided, they must be rented).
Walking back through the lanai, the condo provides its own luxuries. A modern and comfortably furnished living room is the perfect place to spend your morning eating breakfast while listening to the ocean waves crash. The kitchen is fully equipped for you, while the BBQ is also only steps away from the dining room.
The kitchen, dining area, and living area were all recently furnished and remodeled in the Fall of 2023. The furniture is a mix of classic brand names and has incredible style.
Each bedroom has its own separate full bathroom.
Not to miss a game or an episode, the living room also features an entertainment center with a 65 inch Samsung LED SmartTv as well as an Roku, a Bose sound bar, and a "take one, leave one" book library. Both the living room and bedroom TVs have cable and RokuTv.
Just out the front door of the B Building are a heated pool and hot tub exclusively for guests of the Makena Surf B building, perfect for floating in the sun or soaking your body after a day spent on the sand. Adjacent to the pool are two well-maintained tennis courts, pickle ball courts, and a tropical garden. Four tennis rackets are provided, as well as tennis balls. Tennis lessons and clinics are also available during certain periods. Pickleball set is also provided in the utility locker.
The condo has an activity locker that is loaded with all the beach and leisure supplies you would want in Hawaii. There are complete sets of adult and children’s fins and snorkels, boogie boards, pool noodles, four tennis rackets, pickle ball set, children’s beach toys, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and some other nicknacks left behind by prior guests.
The condo kitchen is fully stocked as if you had lived there for several years. It is ready to handle all of your cooking, baking, and BBQ’ing needs.
If you have any questions, please ask. I am glad to act as a concierge to guide your reservations to the best restaurants, boating services, spas, and hidden local gems. There is also a welcome book with much of this advice in writing.
Disclaimers:
- Visitors from Canada: Before booking, pay attention to your flight times. Almost all flights to Canada from Maui leave AFTER 10pm. Unfortunately, after many bad actors late check out is not available for this unit. If you would like to use the unit “for the day” you will need to reserve another full day- No exceptions.
- This unit does not sleep five adults, unless the fifth is a baby in a crib. Four adults maximum.
- There are several tools provided to make awesome coffee: drip, k cup, nespresso, pourover. I do my best to frequently stock the bar but guests are ultimately responsible for acquiring their own coffee/pods/grounds/beans.

We were thrilled to stay in this gorgeous condo right on the beach! It has been completely updated with beautiful decor, and had all the amenities we could possibly want. The bed was extremely comfortable, the view was amazing, all condiments were provided, and a big chest full of snorkel gear, boogie boards and everything else needed for the beach was right out front. Best of all was the gorgeous bouquet and goodies waiting for us on the counter - we truly enjoyed them! Many thanks to the host!
Fantastic stay all around! It was perfect for my family of 4 and had everything we could have needed! Such nice personal touches with the welcome goodies. Our first night we were welcomed with the most amazing sunset view.

Best sunset views ever! Travelled with my parents for my mom’s birthday and they never left the lanai. We all enjoyed amazing sunset views and dinners outside. The condo is stunning. Very clean and check in/out process is a breeze. Snorkelling right off the beach and seeing turtles was an added delight. Would highly recommend this condo.
Amazing location with perfect views, and great beach right out your front door. Kitchen was well stocked with all that you needed, and great personal touches like fresh pineapple, champagne, and other Hawaii goodies.

We had such a wonderful stay! The property was clean and well updated. The view when you walk in will literally take your breath away. It was the perfect week for our family- the teens loved the pool area and tennis courts. The beach was great and had good snorkeling as well- had two turtles pop over to say hi one afternoon while we were swimming. Peter was so hospitable and made us feel at home. Arrived to our location, the place was immaculate with 180 degree views. Champagne was provided and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the appropriate items such as sauces, salt, pepper, spices,..etc. Very rare and so valuable when arriving on Vaca. Asked for an extra blanket and provided immediately. Great location. Peter was such a great host…thank you!!!
We wanted a place close enough to the beach to hear the waves throughout the condo. We were not disappointed! Nicely furnished with a large lanai. We had everything we needed for our 1 week stay. Couldn't recommend more!

Since we are natives of Los Angeles, we have been to Maui at least 20 times . Makena Surf is our favorite location. The beach is my favorite on the Island. This condo faces a gorgeous expansive view of Makena beach. The condo is beautiful renovated, comfortables, pristine & fully stocked. Peter is a great host! We’ll be back here!

I cannot express how much we loved this condo and already cannot wait to go back!! The interior is upgraded, updated, comfortable (especially the beds and the sofa lounger) and has everything you need for a great vacation. I love that there were plenty of extras for everyone’s use such as condiments, spices, laundry detergent, towels, chairs, beach goodies, bath products, etc. The penthouse balcony is unbelievable. We spent every night watching the stunning sunset and then the beautiful stars from the comfy couches. Was very nice to have our own dedicated grill and the owner was very responsive and proactive in making sure we had everything we needed including a new gas tank super fast! The beach is great, you can’t get any closer! It’s one of the most popular snorkeling spots on the island with tons of turtles (the left side at the end of the rocks). We had to laugh when the snorkeling trip we paid for stopped at that spot, we could have swam home! I honestly don’t know why people stay at hotels when condos like this exist! We will definitely be back!! Mahalo Nui Loa!!
This condo is a beautifully-appointed and decorated 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit with a fantastic view of a very nice semi-private beach in the Makena/Wailea area. The unit was probably better equipped and stocked than any rental unit we have ever stayed in. Multiple coffee makers, a wine fridge, beach cooler and an activity box full of beach and sports equipment were just a sample of the may amenities available and at the ready. There was a fairly private shared pool and hot tub right behind the building, as well as 2 tennis courts. The location of the complex was very convenient to the Wailea area restaurants and also to the Kihei town shopping and restaurants. Peter, our host, was very friendly and accommodating and was easy to contact via text. He provided a guide notebook in the unit with information and critiques of the area activities, restaurants and hotspots. Thanks so much for providing such a wonderful place to stay and enjoy our week in paradise! We hope to come again soon!
This was our second stay at Makena Surf, and our first stay at this unit. It was wonderful - nicely renovated, wonderfully appointed kitchen and the unparalleled views from the third floor of an ocean-front building at this complex. We will be back!
We have come to Maui many times, but this is our first time staying in Wailea. The property was updated, clean & comfortable. The beach was right out front and a refreshing pool right behind. It is suitable for 4 people. One note would be the 3 flights of stairs to some who may have challenges with that. Also, there were 4 remotes to work the main tv. Thats a bit overwhelming! Once we got the hang of all the entry & gate codes, we were set. Close enough to walk to some of the larger resorts and restaurants in the area. We would definitely stay here again. Property was immaculate. One of the few properties we have stayed at that claim to be fully stocked and really are. The bar, the kitchen, beach amenities. Apartment was spic and span, super comfortable and well appointed. The property itself is right on the beach, with hot tubs, pools and tennis courts. Apartment has beach chairs, umbrellas, tons of tennis and snorkeling gear, kids games and books, coolers, ice packs, etc. Super easy to communicate with Peter, our host, but didn’t really have any issues that came up! Will definitely be returning. Mahalo Peter for such a great stay!
The location of this condo is as good as you can get in Maui. We usually stay at the Fairmont but the beach here is much better and quieter. We stayed for a month and would love to have stayed longer. Peter is very responsive and helpful. The unit is well appointed and very clean. The views from the patio are as close to the beach as you can get with remarkable sunsets. I wish I was still there!
