Bright, Airy, Spacious 2-bed/2-bath, Ground Floor - Aloha & welcome to Makanui @ Poipu Kai Resort. This wonderfully appointed 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom ground floor condo features an upgraded kitchen and bathrooms with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and beautiful wood cabinetry.
The master bedroom offers a king-size bed, a private large bathroom, 46' Flat Screen TV and its own lanai. The guest bedroom provides a king-size bed that can be re-configured as 2 twin beds. It has its own 36' flat screen tv and an adjoining bathroom. The second bedroom and bathroom can be completely separated for privacy, creating 2 king suites. The living room sofa couch has a pull out bed. We can accommodate up to a total of 4 guests aged 13 years or older and 2 younger children.
A great breeze circulates throughout this spacious unit to keep it cool and cozy during your stay. Enjoy your favorite beverage & your latest thriller novel while sitting outside the wrap-around lanai; or simply relax, bask in the sun amid the peaceful garden and take in the garden/mountain view.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including a coffee maker, blender and toaster. You can make pizza, spaghetti, bake cookies, and lots more. Plus a 2nd mini bar fridge offers you plenty of space for your beverages and snacks. There is also NEW full-sized washer and dryer in the unit for your convenience. Also there is plenty of free parking at the condo.
Inside the condo, we have a beach closet that stows an ice chest, boogie boards, beach chairs, tennis rackets, balls, umbrella, beach bags, and, of course, beach towels. Feel free to use any of them - we simply want to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
The Poipu Kai resort is surrounded by lush gardens, offering peace and privacy. A gas grill is available for your use just a few steps from the condo. The tropical walking paths throughout the resort are beautifully landscaped and lit for romantic evening strolls.
If you like to play tennis, Poipu Kai has 8 full tennis courts that you can reserve for a small fee. For the golfers, Poipu Bay Golf (home of the PGA Grand Slam from 1994-2006) is less than a mile from our doorstep.
The beaches are less than a 5-minute walk. Activities such as snorkeling, open-water swimming, body-surfing, kayaking, and surfing are offered at Brennecke's, Shipwrecks and Poipu Beach. Poipu Beach has a children's playground and a wonderful, calm and shallow beach suitable for younger children (Keiki Beach). Poipu Beach is rated as one of the world's best, and has lifeguards on duty everyday for your safety. Hike past Shipwrecks beach for beautiful scenery at the cliffs.
As residents of Makanui, you have access to 2 pools. The Makanui pool is right outside our front door. The pool area has both sunny and shady areas, and is a great place to hang out with an ocean view. The Poipu Kai resort pool and hot tub is also available for you to use.
And at the end of your fun-filled day, simply sit back, put your feet up and relax in our comfortable furnishings. Watch your favorite US shows on the flat screen TVs or surf the internet at no-cost.
Within walking distance you can dine at Brennecke's Beach Broiler, Kalapaki Joe's (sports bar) or grab a quick bite from Brennecke's deli. The Grand Hyatt houses 5 restaurants & Stevenson's Library offers live music nightly or enjoy their torch lighting ceremonies and hula nights.

All was perfect
Location is fabulous. Check in procedure was easy and simple The pool was just steps away. I loved our walk down to the beach. After a day of snorkeling, hiking or touring, we came home and enjoyed the lanai. Our beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Loved having first day coffee and many spices available to use. We also made use of the coolers, ice packs, beach chairs, and cubes ice for beverages and water bottles. Darrell and Ida were responsive and helpful. I would love to stay again in the future

Great place to stay, close to the beach
Great place to stay - didn’t even need A/C for most of the trip (there isn’t any…just ceiling fans and that Hawaiian breeze). Super close to the pool and beach. Really enjoyed our stay!

We all had such an amazing stay! The condo was spacious, clean and had everything that we needed for our stay and more. The beach gear was great and the extra beach towels, the washer/dryer was such a convenience. We walked to Poipu Beach at night to watch the turtles and to Kalapaki Joe's for dinner. We would recommend this condo to anyone!
We stayed here 10 years ago and truly enjoyed the condo so much we returned again in July. It is still a fantastic and quiet condo close to back and activities. Would recommend!!
This condo has everything and more than we expected! Great location and amenities for the whole family.
Noisy. Could not sleep due to outdoor noise. Had to call neighborhood patrol most nights about the noise. Property is nice, clean, spacious. There was no shampoo besides 1 bar of soap in each bathroom. Communication was not good between HOA and owner. When we were out HOA person came to do some routine maintenance work. Left the door open don’t know how long. We came back shocked as we had checked the lock several times and it was locked. Property owner told me I left it open not believing what I was saying. This has never happened in my life. Thankfully our stuff did not get stolen.
This was the perfect place to go with my family who hasn't traveled in almost 10 years. Everything was convenient, comfortable and tastefully updated. The grounds outside were beautifully kept. Loved the green belt wandering through the properties, choose your own beach adventure!
Property is located perfectly for beach and restaurants. Easy to leave in and out of town.
Loved the condo complex and location. The hosts have a beautiful place and it was perfect for our group of 4 people.
Had a great stay in Poipu. The condo unit was very nice and spacious with a well stocked kitchen and beach amenities. The location was amazing, very close to the main roadways and walking distance to walking trails and beaches (15 minutes). The owners were very communicative prior to the visit, and were quick to answer questions. Overall had a great stay, would absolutely consider staying again.
Family trip and fully enjoyed the accommodations and location to the beach, restaurants, shops and activities.
We go to Poipu and stay in Poipu Kai Resort about every other year - overall was a great place in a great location with excellent communication by the hosts. My only comments are that the sofa bed needs to be updated (rolls into the middle) and the sliding glass door needs to be adjusted as it's very hard to open and close. Otherwise its great and I would certainly stay here again!
The condo was beautiful. Location was great and we could walk to the beach, the pool and the market. Darrell and Ida were super responsive when I had questions. Would HIGHLY recommend!
