Ocean Front 3 BR, 1 level Condo. Pool, SPA, huge Lanai. Pickle Ball

We were told shortly before arrival that there might be some scaffolding and noise for a gutter project. When we arrived, the patios were completely blocked and useless. Our “oceanfront” and “huge lanai” were worthless. We reached out to the owner about a small refund since we didn’t get the experience we paid for and was advertised when we booked. The manager kept apologizing but the owner never got to us. I’ve never been so disappointed with the service and the experience and we have used VRBO many times. This location is great and the unit was fine, but we were just so disappointed.

Owner was responsive and worked with me when I needed to add another day. Would stay here again. Great for our family of 7. Location is great for kids who didn’t have their own car. Great multiple close beaches. Walk to Hyatt bar is easy for adults. Lots of beach stuff. Thank you!

Location was perfect. Accessible to everything, the pool was a great amenity. Kitchen was well-stocked, and the provided beach towels, beach chairs, and beach gear were all welcome.

The pictures that are posted on their listing doesn't capture the absolute beauty of this property. We were on the first floor and still had such a beautiful pool. The 3 bedroom condo was so spacious. The furniture was super comfortable and didn't have that "worn out" look like some place do. My only complaint was the coffee table. It has a clear glass top which makes if tricky to get around if you're not paying attention. One corner is chipped pretty badly and my 89 year old mom cut her leg on it. We ended up setting items on the corners so we'd remember the glass top was there. Other than that it was AMAZING!! We'd happily rent again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful oceanfront condo! The view was incredible, and the condo had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. The pool was amazing—our kids loved spending time there. We also enjoyed cooking dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and relaxing out on the patio in the evenings. A perfect spot for a family getaway!

A beautiful condo in an excellent location on the south side of the island. We had plenty room for our Ohana and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen and laundry. The property managers were responsive and their help was much appreciated especially during the tsunami warning. We would highly recommend this condo for your stay.

Great location! You can walk to the point and watch the sunrise in the morning (my favorite part). The condo had beach gear available to use that is perfect for spending the days on at the beach and enjoying the sun and ocean. The condo is all one level which was helpful for our family. The air conditioning worked really well. For those that air conditioning is important, this condo will be perfect for you! The ocean view from the lanai was great. A perfect place to have your morning coffee. The close proximity tot he pool and hot tub was also very nice. The kitchen had items we needed to make many of our meals there at the condo. Overall a wonderful place to stay!

Excellent location. Great condo - It was roomy for a group of 6 and had everything we needed. Appreciated the beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards. An unexpected bonus of this location was the soul soothing effect of listening to and watching the waves crash onto the rocks. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a family of 8 staying. The condo is in a good location with the parking lot and easy access to the pool and pickleball court. Each bedroom and living area had air conditioning which was nice to have. Being on the ground floor, the grandkids could run around outside easily.

We were very comfortable and enjoyed all the amenities. Really appreciate the pool toys. Beautiful view from the lanai .Not a fan of the glass tops on the tables, very sharp edges. One of the glass tops was chipped with scotch tape on it. My husband sustained a small cut from it. It would be nice to have plastic cups for the pool.

nice place, smallish, but for the price, was very happy. Be aware, if you didn't notice, that the master bedroom is separated from living area by sliding white glass doors, so not as quiet as might be hoped. Great walking distance to Shipwreck and Poipu beaches! Would definitely stay again

The condo had everything we needed and more. Everything was clean and fully stocked. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The private trail was stunning to watch sunrises and sunsets with many sea turtles. Such a great location. We were given plenty of notice about parking changes and all other items. I would recommend this VRBO!

This condo is ground floor with a wonderful patio, steps from the pool, awesome view of the ocean and you can enjoy both sunsets and sunrises from the patio. We have stayed at this condo each time we have come to Hawaii and have never been disappointed. Paradise.

Our stay at Makahuena Resort was nothing short of perfection. The location exceeded our expectations with perfect viewing for sunrises, sunsets and even whale and sea turtle sightings! The kids loved playing in the pool daily and it was just a short 3 min drive to several beaches. Every single bed was very comfortable and clean. The property manager was always prompt to respond to emails and texts and was always available. We will definitely plan to return in the near future!

Amenities were perfect, very nice place! Being on the first floor was perfect for hanging out on the grass and into the pool for the kids. Kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were very comfortable! We loved our stay!

Condo is perfect! Location is amazing and the property is beautiful.

We are a large family (2 parents, 4 kids aged 7-15 and a MIL), and we had a lovely stay over the halloween week. I was there for a conference at the nearby Grand Hyatt (easy beautiful walk), and the rooms accomodated us wonderfully. Nearby ameneties and shops as needed, and lots of local gems to be found. Easy access to the pool for the kids was great, and a short walk to watch the sunrise in the morning with a coffee in hand was magical. Extremely responsive staff, but the property was well prepared enough that I never needed to see them in person throughout the week. Check in was seamless. If I needed another place to stay in Kauai for a meeting in the future, or just in general, I will definitely keep an eye out for this property.

We have stayed at Makahuena multiple times, first time in this listing. The location within the condo complex is great for small kids. Grassy area to run around, close walk to sunset/sunrise and close proximity to the pool. The management staff was easy to work with and fast at communication. We had a larger party and did not feel cramped within the condo. Makahuena itself is a nice complex to stay in, everyone is always nice and the pool/hot tub are never overcrowded. Plus you have good access to the walking trails, 10 minute walk to the beach or short drive. The only thing we found inconvenient was that there was no place to hang out towels/suits to dry outside. Other than that no complaints, we will be back again!

This was an excellent place for our family. It was very comfortable and close to lots of fun things to do. Recommend this if you like being close to the ocean, beaches, turtles, diving or shopping. It was also a very well stocked kitchen.

We booked this place for my daughter’s graduation trip and the location was great. We walked over to the rocks and watched the waves crash in and turtles in the surf. Close to other great beaches and clean and super nice. We will be back!!!! Mahalo!!!

This was our 6th trip to the Poipu Beach area but the closest we’ve ever been to the ocean. Absolutely amazing location and amenities. The Pickleball courts alone made this property a game changer. Wonderful accommodations would love to go back.

Perfect Kauai getaway! We had a fantastic time at the condo in Poipu. The location was ideal, with stunning ocean views and easy access to the beaches and everywhere else on the island. The condo itself was clean and well-equipped, and the spacious outdoor space was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We would highly recommend this property anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing Kauai vacation especially for a large group of people.

Loved the location near the pool and easy access to the ocean view

Good location. Step out to pool and hot tub. Has partial ocean view. Suggestion for the owner is the glass top cofe table should be changed. Many of us was hurt by bump in to the glass top. Overall a nice place to stay.

We only needed a 2 night stay but would stay longer next time. When we first arrived, the condo was only steps away from the parking lot. Very convenient! The entrance was down a few stairs and the landing was very dark. It was difficult to see anything because the light was burned out but we were able to use a phone flashlight to see and the keypad worked great to get inside. Once inside the condo, it was muggy and somewhat musty but that dissapated quickly once we opened the windows and doors and turned on the many room air conditioners (Kauai is muggy in general). The location was great with the pool and hot tub only steps away and the view of the ocean from the patio was amazing! The condo was spacious with 3 bedrooms, a decent sized kitchen and living room. The sofa wasn't super comfortable to sit on but the 3 new recliners were! The beds were comfortable. The main bathroom tub didn't drain well at all but I used the plunger and solved the problem. Our short stay was great! The only thing I wish were different would be patio slider that we could unlock with a key from the outside. One of us always had to walk all the way around to go to the pool (we always locked up when we left). Overall, our time in Poipu was memorable and we would definitely come back again to stay here!

Wonderful property in great location!

We were here 2 weeks in January. Everything was as it was represented - kitchen is well equipped. Altho we're not"beachy" - there seemed to be plenty of equipment, chairs, coolers, etc. The condo is right at the pool so occasionally there are noisy kids or 1/2-drunk young men. Not really an issue tho. We loved having the a/c's - they work great. (altho we only used 2, there is an a/c for each bedroom and one between the living room and kitchen. Contact people were fairly responsive to any concerns we had.

The location of this rental was absolutely perfect. My family of 8 had plenty of room and enjoyed the amenities the condo offers. If/when we return to Kauai, we will stay again!

My wife and I have 6 kids ages 21-3 years old. The size of the property, location and amenities were perfect for all of us. We liked being on the ground floor as there is a lot of noise with our group and having the pool right out our door was awesome.
