This house was very well equiped. You will have everything you need, from towels to plates! We especially utilized the washer/dryer every day after going to the beach. There is a pull out couch as well as an extra couch to sleep on the main living area in additional to two bedrooms. There is a beautiful lanai with outdoor shower to rinse off sand after a beach day. Nice swimming beach located .3 mi walk from the house called Makaha beach. The kitchen has a coffee maker, oven and stove, fridge and all the necessities to make some meals once stocked. We saw whales and turtles right off the beach, and most beautiful sunsets.
Great place! Great location! And great host! Kitchen was supplied well. Beds were comfortable. Lots of space to relax. We had a great time.
Location was amazing. We loved having the large yard and covered porch to relax at while still being right by the water. Short walk to swimmable part of beach and the sunsets were unbeatable!
We stayed 5 nights .Location was accurate, house was clean , beach access and views were beautiful.
The location right on the beach is absolutely stunning, it couldn’t be better. Every morning I enjoyed a one-mile beach walk, followed by coffee on the porch while watching the waves crash against the reef. Our stay here was truly wonderful.
We booked this house because we wanted a private residence on the beach. The views and sounds were spectacular! We were very happy with the house and accommodations. It was clean and well stocked with necessities. The host Reyna was responsive answered all questions. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet vacation away from the city.
House was clean and as advertised. Has all the amenities that you’ll need to have an incredible stay. The sunsets are everything you could ever ask for.
Great location and excellent house! Snorkel every day. Far from tourists and still easy to visit the entire island.
This property has everything you’ll need for four people, the owner is nice and quick to respond if you have any issuesThis was our best family vacation
Great place to stay on the beach with our family!
The home was right on the beach on an essentially private beach. It was beautiful and oerfect sunsets and apparently its a section of ocean that turtles love. I deemed it the turtle highway! Only thing didnt like is lack of local eateries and places to walk too but I would definitely rent again! Very peaceful and relaxing. Just a little piece of heaven.
The property sits on the shore of the leeward side of the island up the west coast away from the big cities. If you are looking for a relaxing time in a casual atmosphere this is definitely the place. It has all the basic amenities. Nothing fancy, but nothing missing. The daily sunsets were an amazing pleasure, with the sounds of the waves breaking an added relaxing sound. We look forward to our return visit.
It was like a dream come true. Beautiful area, pristine beach, house was amazing. Comfortable, spacious and pretty much everything you need. Lots of towels and beach towels. Communication was on point. Answered all questions about the area. I traveled solo, and felt very comfortable in the house and the area. You definitely need a car. There is a bus stop nearby, but I would still recommend a car. Wild chickens, beautiful birds, a couple of lovely cats and also a family of brown anole were among my visitors. It was so relaxing, quiet and just perfect for a zen getaway. I highly recommend this property!
Reyna’s adorable beach house is absolutely perfect!! From the moment you walk in, you’re swept away with the incredible view!! The decor was adorable and beachy. The rooms were cute with comfy beds and ceiling fans. The house was stocked with everything imaginable! Beach chairs, beach towels, coffee, condiments, spices, and necessities. You name it, Reyna had it! The pictures in the listing really don’t even do justice to the beach house. It truly is a little slice of heaven!! If I ever find myself back on Oahu, Reyna’s place is where I’m staying!!!
This house was great to stay in. We wanted freedom of movement. The shopping was so good and you are away from the noise. Will definitely in the future stay with Reyna again. The view from the backyard was truly amazing. And our host, also amazing. Thanks.
We had an amazing time. We really enjoyed the sunsets and the view of the sea.
My family visited Oahu for the first time and hoped to stay right on the beach. This house was exactly what we hoped it would be. Right on the beach, easy access to several other area beaches and very quiet. If you are hoping to travel back and forth from other parts of the island there is heavy, slow rush hour traffic but we loved hanging out on the west side. We saw whales in the distance and sea turtles swimming right our front in the surf. We also enjoyed a daily walk down to Aki’s beach to snorkel and catch the sea turtles sunning themselves right on the sand. The house was exactly as pictured and had everything we needed. We hope to return again!
This beautiful beach front home has stunning views and easy beach access. The home was well equipped with all the essentials to make for a relaxing holiday. Communication with the host was informative and easy. Highly recommend this home!
We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! We wanted something low key and away from the hustle bustle of Waikiki and this was perfect . Loved having the option of laying on the bench, sitting in the yard or reading on the deck out of the sun while still enjoying the amazing views and crashing waves!! For us this was the perfect location….thanks Reyna!!
We had a great, relaxing vacation here. It is a distance from nightlife and restaurants, but the isolation and beauty is tremendous. The house is decently stocked with cookware, dinnerware and sharp knives! There are a couple of local grocery stores nearby, and major shopping is a half hour drive East. The beach directly in front of the house is steep, so the surf hits it fairly hard. A shallower, gentler beach is 100 meters west. On calmer days, we saw residents swimming across the bay at Makaha Beach Park. Surfers were active at Makaha Beach every day. There are few visitors to the beach in front of the house, so you get a lot of privacy. There is only one road into Waianea, and it can get crowded at rush hour. There are also homeless encampments on the beach that can be seen on the way to the house, but no one bothered us that far West. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards from further down the beach, and you will see them about twice a day on quads.Highly recommended, if you want peace and quiet.
I’m so happy I cancelled my room at the Hilton and stayed at this beach house. After daily outings to the cities/tourist areas, it was really nice to be “home” and away from it all. I’m not a crowd/city person, so I was happy to have my own kitchen, make my own food and not have to wait in crowded lines for my coffee and meals. I also go stir crazy if I’m cooped up in a small spaces, so to be able to walk outside and have my own private beach whenever I wanted, was more than I could’ve asked for in a vacation. The home’s backyard faces west and we caught gorgeous sunsets every evening and the ocean roared us to sleep every night. Just be aware, that this location is pretty much as far West as you can go and you cannot drive North without going about 30-40 minutes back East. The nearest “mainstream” shopping area is also about 30 minutes away.
We loved the location and space to relax. We loved the access to Mākaha and Aki beach, and Kaena point. We were dazzled by the sunsets and relished the waves from the beachside viewpoint.
This house was the perfect getaway. Quiet, peaceful, comfortable...just perfect for us. The sunsets were gorgeous, the walks on the beach happened from the moment you walked out the back door. Hope to be back!
This place was a hidden little gem on the island. When we were driving up I was slightly concerned with all the homeless tents on the way. Give it a chance. Once we arrived it had everything and more to feel at home. It was a nice place to have silent time after our daily activities.
This amazing property was exactly as described and in the pictures provided. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We renewed our vows on the beautiful beach behind our house at sunset. It came out amazing! Thank you, Reyna, for everything.
Overall we loved the property and the view was amazing! It was a pretty easy drive to other areas of the island to explore. We had plenty of room, and the AC was nice to have, although opening the window at night to hear the waves crashing was very relaxing. The neighborhood was quiet. I would recommend staying here.
This was a great location for sitting in the beach. You never have to leave. If you do want to leave it is a bit out of the way. It just depends on what you want to do. We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room, great water pressure lots of towels and staples in the kitchen. If I had a complaint, it would be no direct ac in the bedroom. We made the fans work to cool the bedroom when sleeping.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here in Makaha! We have made so many memories. This home is set up perfectly for 4. It is equipped with just about everything you need. We have vacationed on different islands and this spot has definitely been our favorite. Private beach front property and a short walk to swim in the ocean..
Amazing experience and host had everything you could possibly need in this beautiful home. Will definitely stay again on our next trip. 10 out of 10 recommendations for this beautiful property.
This house was ideal for our family of 3. Perfect water view, great beach down the road that was safe to swim, AC that worked well, etc. looking forward to staying here again! The host was wonderful.
Owner was on top of things. Had instructions on check in when we landed. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.
We hoped to find a relaxing and quiet beach front house that we could choose to stay close to. But also go on excursions if we choose to. This house is ideal. Clean and updated, and stocked with necessary kitchen items. We can't wait to plan our return.
We have a very good time in Honolulu and would book this same house.
Such a memorable vacation - and booking this beachfront home was one of the reasons we had such a wonderful time! The home is clean and so comfortable - our friendly host covered all of the necessities and more. It's a quiet and homey place to truly soak in the magic of the island. Beautiful sunsets, gorgeous surf views, friendly neighbors and lots of special experiences available within a short walk or drive from the property. The beach and surf on the leeward side of Oahu can be a bit rough - the beach profile can be a tricky to navigate (definitely not like a typical US mainland beach). We are looking forward to another visit! Don't pass up this gem of a house!
What a gem! This house is in a cute and quiet little neighborhood right on the beach... Perfect quiet getaway for our family. We spent a few days in Waikiki doing touristy stuff, but purposely came to this side of the island to get away from the crowds and experience life on Oahu...House backs up to like a private beach... Thank you Reyna for a wonderful experience!
My husband young adult daughter and I had a great time. The house was a perfect for us. We fell asleep to the sound of the surf and would watch the sunsets from the lanai.
If you want the busy social lifestyle of Waikiki, this is not the place for you. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a quiet retreat right on the beach, this place is perfect! The house is clean, open, and inviting, and you can't beat the proximity to the beach. We kept our windows open to hear the surf. The sand just beyond the backyard was just about private. We sat every morning either on the covered porch or out at the edge of the yard with our morning coffee, watching the waves (and the whales in the distance!). In the evenings, when it wasn't too cloudy, the sunsets were stunning. Reyna was a fabulous hostess. Her instructions were clear, and checking in and out was effortless. The town is roughly 35-45 minutes from Honolulu proper because of the low highway speeds, but as I said, that didn't bother us. We were able to spend plenty of time visiting the rest of the island and still had lots of time to relax at the house. We highly recommend walking 3/4 mile up the street to Aki's Beach, where we were able to see a couple of sea turtles basking in the sun. The VRBO had everything we needed, down to a first aid kit (those volcanic rocks on the beach are sharp!) and a Keurig with K-cups. If we ever make it back to Hawai'i, we would definitely stay here again.
The house is in the most beautiful spot of the Island of Oha’u Calm neighborhood and you almost have your own private beach! The house is equipped with everything you need for a day at the beach! It also has a kitchen so you can cook your own meals and enjoy the view while eating! We defenitely recommand this house, and we also won’t hesitate to rent it again!
This was the perfect spot!! We loved waking up every morning to walk on the beach and listening to the waves at night! Reyna was so easy to communicate with and made sure to we had a great trip! We’re already planning our next trip!
Outstanding oceanfront location surrounded by mountains. Private and quiet street. Makaha Beach is the backyard and Aki’s Beach is a short walk. Oceanfront hiking trails nearby. Clean beach house with everything you will need. Beautiful sunsets…
We loved our stay at this home. It was exactly as described. It wasn’t really close to any main attraction but that’s the reason we chose it. I would highly suggest just taking a short drive or walk over to the Akis beach where you will find turtles. I also suggestion mountain magic shaved ice down the road. This will be our 3rd trip to the islands and it was the best shaved ice we have had.
Our stay was in January for 7 nights . Married couple with our adult 22 yr old daughter. Reyna, our contact host, was extremely helpful answering our questions prior to booking and during our stay. The property was represented accurately. Woke and went to sleep to the sound of crashing waves on the beach! Surf was big while we were there and may not be ideal for very small children to swim this time of year at this beach specifically, but, there were times when it was calm and flat enough for paddle boarding and swimming as well. Two life guards on duty everyday on North end of Makaha Beach. You have private beach front access and fabulous sunsets at this property. Quiet. Remote, in that it is approximately 50 minutes from Honolulu. We felt safe . Hawaiian neighbors and beach walkers were friendly. Shout out to LET'S SURF HI. Recommended by local resident . If planning to take surf lesson, check them out. We enjoyed a beautiful drive to the East side of the island for a quaint beach town excursion in Kailua Bay area (calm turquoise water here) after Lanikai Pillbox hike. The North Shore, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor all easily accessed and it was so nice to come back to this relaxing beachfront property. Hope to visit Oahu again! ~Mahalo
10 out of 10! This is the most beautiful treasure on Oahu. Reyna was fabulous in communicating directions for everything. The house was perfect and the backyard was a post card! We've stayed on North Shore, Waikiki and other places in Hawaii. This was by far our favorite.
