Welcome to Island Sands Unit 401, an oceanfront community that sits on the waterfront away from the road. Spectacular ocean, island, and Haleakala views!
Lynn owns this fourth floor 675 sq. ft. condo that provides peaceful ocean viewing and full views of the West Maui Mountains, Molokini Crater, and the islands of Kaho'olawe and Lana'i. From the pool and common grounds, you can see Haleakala.
This unit includes a window air conditioner in the living room and two ceiling fans, FREE high speed 5G (400 Mbps) Wi-Fi Internet access for your laptop and other devices. This unit is a spacious, bright, and beautifully decorated beach-style home. The kitchen is newly renovated and fully stocked with a dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, full-size fridge, and washer/dryer. This home includes a telephone for free calls to USA and Canada and free local cable TV channels.
Everything you need for your Maui vacation is included: linens, bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils, and much more!
There is a vintage art collection featuring Hawaiian artists and a library stocked with books on Hawaiian history. The master bedroom has a King size bed for your sleeping comfort and *FULL* size sofa bed in the living room. This home is a wonderful value and comfortably sleeps, 3 adults. There is an extra charge per night for the third guest.
The complex has a "saltwater" swimming pool with lounge chairs for sunbathing. Enjoy dining and cooking your meals outdoors. There are propane BBQ grills, tables, and chairs for your convenience.
Island Sands is a quiet, friendly place with Aloha Fridays. Enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts 8:00-9:00 am.
Ma`alaea Bay is where the whales play and have their babies. Humpback whales can be seen in abundance from your lanai from November through April. If there is a big south swell, the wave off the harbor, "Freight Trains," can be one of the best in the world attracting expert surfers.
Heading south along the sidewalk and past a few condominium resorts is Haycraft Park and Sugar Beach, the longest undeveloped beach on the island. This is a great beach to swim; walk, jog, bird watch, and shell hunt for miles in peace, away from the crowds. The beach is several miles long and eventually connects you to the community of Kihei.
Less than a mile walk along the sidewalk, head north to the shops and restaurants at Ma'alaea Harbor. The harbor amenities include snorkel and tour boats to Molokini Crater and sunset dinner cruises. Experience family fun at the Pacific Whale Foundation, Maui Ocean Center, Maui Golf, and Sports Park with miniature golf, trampoline, rock climbing, and bumper boats.
This condo complex is centrally located to many popular island destinations. By car, approximately 20 minutes to Lahaina, Wailea, and to OGG airport. Another 25 minutes to Pa'ia and Makawao town. Kealia National Wildlife Refuge and the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary is a short drive away approximately a 5-10 minute drive. There is a Maui Bus stop at Ma`alaea Village, from here you can take the public bus system to almost anywhere on the island.

* A $200 fee will be charged for the replacement of a lost key.

Island sands is my favorite Condos
Cozy, clean and great view. However, the winds were so strong that we couldn't enjoy the outdoor areas. Fully furnished with all you need. Check-in directions said to open both doors for ventilation, but wind was so strong we felt like stuff was flying off the walls.
Loved sitting on the balcony and watching the whales in Maalaea Bay! Lovely condo!
The property was centrally located. We had easy access to wherever we wanted to go. The scenery from the lanai was fabulous. We would stay again.
Great communication from property management. Very easy check-in/check-out. Keyless entry to condo is super convenient. Condo is great & has a LOT of random stuff...beach stuff, sunscreen, after-sunscreen, seasonings, cooking oil, laundry soap/dryer sheets, water filter pitcher, and a TON of books/literature about Maui & things to do there. A LOT of Hawaiian-themed tchotchkes everywhere...possibly too many, as they take up space you might use to put your belongings, but they are cheerful & cute. The winds are crazy & blow right through from the entrance to the balcony...between the wind & ceiling fans, the unit was always comfortable. (The stairwell is across the hall from the condo & the door will bang LOUDLY if it's not closed tightly...) The pool is small, but was never busy. Lounge chairs are really nice...comfy. The grills are nice & worked great. The unit's assigned parking spot is easily seen from the balcony of the condo, which also has an amazing view of the water...we missed the whales, but saw dolphins playing on most mornings. Our only quasi-complaint is about the pillows...there are quite a few of them, but none are very great to sleep on. We definitely recommend this property as a great place to stay on Maui!
IS401 was perfect with ocean and mountain views. It was well stocked in the kitchen from dishes to spices. The people are friendly, and the complex is quiet. You can watch the turtles all day long and never get tired of it. If you're lucky, you may see one resting on the little beach, but please don't disturb. We have stayed at this complex several times and will definitely be back. Thank you Lynn for a great vacation!!
Fantastic space, clean, comfortable. Great overall experience
401 was so perfect for us! It is in the most convenient location, away from all the hustle and in a quiet little nook where you can just sit and listen to the ocean for hours! We had zero issues so that is a plus! We were worried about only having one window unit coming into vacation. But with the lanai doors and windows open all week, it was no problem at all!! We definitely hope to come back!
Our condo had the absolute most uncomfortable living room furniture I’ve ever had to endure for 8 days!!! I actually had DIS--comfort while sitting on living room couch, chairs!!! Very poor to subject renters to suffer with crap like that. Makes owners look so unprofessional, uncourteous. The presentation of property (condo) very deceiving online. Everything was old, very worn and not something I would have chosen had I actually seen in realistic photos! Deceiving. Will not trust VRBO in the future.
It was great. Whales jumping right in front of our balcony. Location wise it's little bit on the side but close to everything.
