Beautiful location on the coastline. Enjoyed seeing the sunrise every morning from the large enclosed lanai. Pool was well maintained. About a 25 minute drive into downtown Hilo on most days. Puna Trail head is close by (bring good shoes should you plan to go the 2 miles one-way to Shipman Beach. Only slight negatives were the stackable washer/dryer had an unpleasant odor in the hallway outside the downstairs bedrooms, and if you are staying in the upstairs master bathroom you will need to navigate some steps to get luggage up and down. Overall a quiet, relaxing location.
Beautiful home that has everything you’d need. Our family was very comfortable and we will definitely stay there again the next time we visit.
As advertised! Great communication, truly a great property!
Our family of 4 really enjoyed this beautiful home. It was immaculate and well equipped. The views were spectacular. We loved sitting out in the rocking chairs looking out at the ocean. The location was great. Would definitely recommend this house.
The property had so many fine touches. Owner thought of everything. So many places both outdoor and indoor to enjoy the view and stocked with everything we needed. Not sure how im going to survive without that glorious view!
The home itself is beautiful with stunning ocean views from all the rooms. Ultimately, we had a nice time, but there are some inaccuracies of the listing description that need to be corrected. Upon arrival we were disappointed to realize that the primary bedroom, with the most stellar views and en suite bathroom, actually has the QUEEN bed. That was not called out in the description, which may be fine for some, but with an extremely tall husband, we always specifically seek out king beds for our comfort. The photo in the listing of the primary bedroom. “bedroom 1”, mistakenly says king bed, I texted the property manager upon arrival to point out the discrepancy-there was nothing to be done at this point and we would make it work, but I wanted to just let her know. She responded that she would correct the description for others-but It has been almost a week since our departure and no updates have been made. We absolutely would NOT have booked this home, knowing that the primary bedroom was a queen bed. The two king beds are downstairs with a shared bathroom, so we chose one of those rooms and shared a bathroom with our teenager, while our other kiddo got the upstairs views in the primary. The refrigerator icemaker is broken, but bagged ice was supplied. In the living room, there are no blinds on the floor-to-ceiling, north facing window, looks at neighbor’s lanai. The lack of privacy at night with lights on was noticeable. Ocean views & lanai are lovely!
We loved everything about our stay. We booked this house for my Mom's 72nd Birthday. The area around the house was lovely, and it was a short drive to stores and vacation sightseeing. We saw whales every afternoon and evening. I was excited to wake up and view the sunrise with coffee every morning. We enjoyed the pool in the afternoon. The night sky was amazing.I look forward to coming back. I'd stay at this house and in this area again.
Beautiful, very clean and well equipped home. All bedrooms face the ocean. Large lanai. We would happily stay here again.
Location and house was great! Views amazing and got to see some whales! Only negative was the fact that a 3 bedroom house had extra fees for 3rd and 4th person. Seems excessive considering we were booking a house with 3 bedrooms. Other than that, great place!
This home was fantastic! Very clean and better than described. We watched whales and turtles from the balcony the entire week. The owners were responsive and instructions were clear. Would recommend this property again and again!!
Sitting out on the black lava cliffs just off the back patio... gazing at the night starts (without all the light pollution we have at home) was just amazing. A great home.
My husband and I, stayed here for our honeymoon. Everything about staying in this beautiful home, was beyond amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone, wanting a home away from home vibe. The blissfulness was a piece of paradise. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us during our short stay on the Big Island. House is spotless and beds very comfortable. Pool and outside area is a wonderful way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. But honestly just sitting on the lanai, enjoying the view and listening to the crash of the waves was the high point of our visit.
The beauty of this home and its location is beyond words. We loved staying here and hated to leave. The pool was used each day and loved sitting on the laina every night watching the sunset. Wish we could have been able to spend more time here.
Everything about this property, from check in, to location, to the amenities on-site, and even the sad day of check out, was simply perfect. Listening to the waves crashing from the lanai was almost hypnotic. Seeing the sunrise every morning while sipping hot coffee was our favorite part of every day. People will tell you it's on the rainy side of the island, but don't let that scare you. Hilo is such a great little city, away from the crowds on the Kona side, and there are so many fun things to do! We can't wait to come back!
This was the most beautiful place for the last part of our Weddingmoon!! The home was just as described and the views took our breath away! Communicating with the host was very easy and prompt! It is off the beaten path but so worth the extra drive just for the views and privacy. Highly recommended this place!!
The place was superb.
Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is the second time we have rented this house and would not hesitate to do so again.
Lovely home; however was unaware that ice maker in refrigerator did not work. Also, unaware that waterfall on pool was inoperable.
We loved our week long stay near Hilo. This home was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The view of the ocean was stunning, and the constant breeze kept all the bugs away, making our time outside so much more enjoyable. Inside, the AC ensured optimal temperature for sleeping, and the beds were luxuriously comfortable. The property is located in a tranquil neighborhood, perfect for leisurely strolls (no sidewalks but the street is lightly traveled and many folks walk on the road). The highlight for the younger members of our group was undoubtedly the private pool, and everyone found the deck furniture to be exceptionally comfortable. While most adults and children had no trouble with the steep stairs, it's worth noting that toddlers would require supervision. Terry and Amber were incredibly attentive and quick to address any needs or questions we had. We highly recommend this property for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.
Felt secluded. Wonderful views and sounds of the ocean. Spent hours on the Lanais watching the waves crash against the rocks. The house felt like a home away from home, cozy, clean and very nice. Nice amenities, pool was refreshing and the house was in a great location.
This home is perfect for relaxing after a day of Hawaiian adventure. Yes you have to drive but returning to this beautiful home and the stunning views is worth it! Everything you need is provided for your stay. It’s beautifully furnished and spotless. We spotted some turtles just off the coast, we were too late to see whales, but just relaxing and watching the ocean was all we needed. One of the nicest rental houses we have been to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Very well appointed home with everything we needed and lots of room. Great layout and views all around. Pretty neighborhood & quiet.
The property is well maintained and situated on a lush landscape. The view is spectacular, and we spotted a few whales. It's the perfect place to go to disconnect and recharge. It's conveniently located near Volcanoes National Park. I'd highly recommend this to a couple or a family!
We spent a wonderful week in March at Paradise Pali Kai to celebrate a birthday, our first stay on the Puna coast since our previous favorite rental property was reclaimed in 2018. The surf below the cliffs provided a soothing 24/7 soundscape, and we also enjoyed the well-maintained pool, even if a bit chilly this time of year. Although there were only two of us, there's plenty of space for larger groups. Ceiling fans, portable tabletop fans, and window screens provided plenty of cooling without really needing air conditioning during our stay. Having spent many oceanfront vacations in Hawaii, I can say all properties are subject to the harsh conditions of moisture and salt spray, but this home was in very good shape compared to others we've rented. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of cookware and knives, and the electric stovetop was easy to clean, fine for preparing some nice meals during our stay. There are bedrooms downstairs, but most of the living space including bedroom, kitchen, living room, and soaking tub are up a flight of stairs. There's a good handrail but the stairs could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. We didn't see any geckos, but saw numerous small brown anole lizards (with interesting red neck dewlap) near the pool. We also spotted pods of dolphins and several whales. One evening the whales were so close we could hear their breathing! Overall, a wonderful stay, and we look forward to a return visit. Mahalo!
Lovely home. Quiet neighborhood and very private. Used the pool everyday. Only negatives is the cumbersome gate lock. Really needs an update. Also found the steps a bit of a hassle while rehabbing a knee. Would not be suitable for someone with mobility issues. Main house is up a major flight of steps and furniture very low to get up from.
This is our 5th stay and we’re looking forward to number 6.
An absolute paradise with breathtaking views and sounds of the sea. We were greeted by a school of dolphins our first morning here and a whale our last afternoon on the island. The house itself was immaculate, spacious, and adorned with every comfort. Sunrise was a daily masterpiece. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. A true gem.
The house is in the most peaceful, beautiful location. Words can’t describe the tranquility of the ocean, the waves crashing and the frequent visits of the whales and dolphins passing. The pool and gardens are also just perfect. The house has everything anyone can need for a great stay. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting a comfortable place to stay while taking time to unwind and enjoy the beauty the big island has to offer.
