The host was great. The beautiful crashing waves were amazing.the view was spectacular!! The only inconvenience was there were only shades on half the windows & on one lg slider, we watched the shade separate from the roll & fall to the floor.(looked like the glue gave out). Bc of that, even with A/C, it got way too warm & uncomfortable in the condo. Overall, the view made up for it!! Thank you so much. We had a great vacation!

We loved the property & it’s waterfront view! The proximity to Magic Sands beach and Magics Beach Grill next door was convenient as well! It was in a family friendly area where my In-Laws stayed nearby. This VRBO made our Kona, HI stay feel Great!

Location next to Magic Sands beach was a plus. The room was clean and the floor to ceiling windows made it feel like we were outside. Beautiful sunsets from the condo. There is no elevator, but we were ok walking up the stairs. There is also no oven, but we went out to eat in the evenings, so we were ok with that. Air conditioning worked well. There is no separation between the bed and the living area. We enjoyed our stay, falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing in at night.

Could not get TV to work but we are not big TV watchers anyway

Beautiful location with crashing waves and fish viewing from the room (yup, could see the fish in the waves). Windows and sliding glass doors on alll the view sides. Nice breeze (never even used the a/c, didn't need it) Condo in great condition. Everything we needed. Good location to get to places moderately easily. Thanks. We'll be back if we make it to the big island again

Great ocean view, close to beach, near almost everything

We loved the unit and the great views of the ocean. This larger unit was helpful for our family of four. Our boys loved Magic Sands beach right next door. They boogie boarded to their hearts content. The condo was well-stocked, including beach toys, chairs, boogie boards, etc. It was the best stocked of the three condos that we stayed at for this trip.

Our stay was amazing. We had the best view of the ocean from two sides of the condo. Beautiful views to wake up to every morning! When it wasn’t cloudy the moon could be seen from the bed we slept in! The Magic Sands beach was so close we loved that as well. Anything we needed for the beach was also provided.

Beautiful place! The room is on the corner of the property, with all windows. The corner windows, perfect spot to see the sunset!

When booking this unit I wondered a little bit about the lack of a balcony. As it turns out, this corner unit with floor to ceiling glass and large sliding double doors on two sides create a wonderfully open space with great views and soothing breezes. It was almost like staying right on a balcony. The active surf below provides all the ocean din anyone could want. We found the unit clean, well appointed, and well stocked - at least for our needs. If our journeys ever bring us back to the Big Island I would definitely book this unit again.

The property is super. If you like beautiful sunsets, oceanfront location, good amenities, fish and turtles swimming by, whales on the horizon, a comfy bed, attentive property managers then you’ll love this property. 5 stars all the way! We can’t wait to return.

We had a nice stay at the Magic Sands. The property is right on the water. You could hear the crashing waves the entire time. Ted was very communicative and helpful, as was the property manager. At check in, the place had not been cleaned but the property manager sent someone over as soon as possible that night to get clean linens in. The following day another person came to properly clean. Once all this was settled we really enjoyed the location right on Ali'i Dr. It was nice to have beach chairs and boogie boards to use during our stay. We would stay again.

This was the first half of a two week getaway with my wife. This was our first vacation rental and it was nearly perfect. Some things that weren’t perfect but I don’t feel it should affect the 5 star is that there is construction on the property and the pool wasn’t available for the first couple days due to a high tide that flooded the pool (tells you how close we were). That said, the condo was clean, well furnished and the desire to be close to the ocean was achieved! Wonderful place to just enjoy the waves from a comfortable chair. I would strongly recommend this condo. It was easy to check in and check out!! Look forward to returning perhaps later this year.

We enjoyed watching the sunset, numerous whales and dolphins swim past everyday. This location is a little out of town and right on the beach, easy access to wherever you want to go for the day. Unfortunately, there was construction going on both below this unit and next to the pool. The condo could use some TLC and more comfortable furniture.

great location right at the ocean

Overall, our trip was relaxing. The facility was constructed in 1966. The disappointing aspect of our stay was the ongoing renovation of the property, and no mention of it taking place. Construction had the parking lot divided, and the sound of jackhammers and other concrete machinery reverberating through the cinderblock and concrete building was very annoying. We could not enter the pool from the front entry and had to walk around to a side gate. A main reason we selected the property was BECAUSE of the pool area pictures. The scaffolding was directly into the pool area, and the pool lounge chairs were pushed to the edge of the pavement. We did not use the pool or BBQ the area was congested or otherwise cordoned off. We would love to return to the unit and recommend it WHEN the construction is completed.

Location, location, location. I doubt there is a better view from anywhere else on the Kona coast. Directly down from our third floor corner room we watched fish swimming in The waves every morning. White sands beach is steps away and the host provided everything we needed for swimming, snorkeling and lounging on the beach. The place is a little old and shows its age, but I wouldn’t let that deter me a moment from coming back. Absolutely fantastic!!

We alerted host Ted about the ant infestation (had video and pics of roughly a thousand of them in the bathroom, kitchen, and on the sofa). A dozen ants on top of the bed we killed but several had gotten under the topsheet which was disgusting. Tried not to let it ruin my husband's 80th birthday but it was terrible. We kept killing them down but the 3rd day was the worst and we both lost sleep. Ted asked us to track down the nice onsite mgr (on OUR vacation!) but she didn't have traps. On last day he had traps brought in and a lamp to plug in on counter (microwave over cooktop not working so it was totally dark when trying to cook after dusk). To make matters worse he fraudulently retained $100 in taxes for nights we prepaid and cancelled within the proper time frame. We were going to let it go but not after he gave NO apology, no adjustment, and what we went through - plus worrying the ants were going to come home in our luggage. Also, the listing shows it sleeps 5 but sleeps 4 max.. It only has one queen bed and one pullout queen sleeper. VRBO opened a case but Ted not responding to them either so we'll have to have VISA deal with him. Would not recommend this rental!

Great location and view.

Loved the unbeatable sunset with sound of crashing waves throughout day and night. Unit was self sufficient, could use some furniture updating but overall acceptable.

This corner unit with all the windows and mirrors makes it feel like you're living in an enclosed deck. Very clean. the view

Nice location. Studio unit. There is a popular beach next door (although watch your time of year since the sand "disappears" exposing rock). We enjoyed the restaurant/bar attached to property. Some construction noise during our stay, but it wasn't too bad since it was at the other end of the building. Pool is very comfortable temperature. View from unit is directly to the ocean and very nice!

Good spot

Wonderful holiday thanks to this amazing apartment right on the ocean. The apartment is exactly as described and the host provides everything you need for a vacation by the sea.(Thanks so much Ted!!!) The location is perfect, so close to the beach, and to Kona, which is great! you can buy groceries at the supermarkets, enjoy the restaurants and shops, and walk around downtown. It is very convenient if you book tours because most of them have a stop nearby the Kona area. We totally recommend it and we will be back. Thanks for all Ted, we have had a wonderful vacation! These were the best two weeks ever! This is the perfect place, the view, the location, and the magic! Best vacay ever! The most beautiful beach, the sound of the waves 24/7, the fantastic, and always delicious Magic's Grill, and the best beach shack in the world!! Location is key. And service second to none. The condo was clean & well stocked, the bed was comfortable, and THE VIEW!!! Had a great stay, hope to come back some day.

Clean and comfortable condo. Bigger than we thought it would be. Great location for nearby beaches, snorkeling and visiting Kona. We could see the beautiful waves and fish right from our balcony. Amazing sunsets.

Bed very comfortable. Location is perfect near beaches and kona. Needs some repairs to lights in kitchen as makes difficult to use kitchen early and late in day. Lack of working roller shades is a negative.

This place is very spacious (being on the corner). It had everything we needed to visit the beach. Cooler, chairs, towels, etc. We only stayed a few nights, but the reserved parking space was very nice and the beach next door was perfect for afternoons. A major grocery store is just mins away via car. Lots of windows let you watch the ocean, and fish activity.

Just chilled in the pool and went to different restaurants

The condo was a fantastic place, loved that it was a corner unit so it had great views of the beach. As described in the listing, the condo was fully stocked with the necessities.

The condo was comfortable for us even with two teenagers. It is beautiful to watch the sunset every night. We were grateful to be able to use the cooler, beach chairs, and boogie board. We would have tried the snorkel gear but we were advised the surf was too high while we were there. Parking and location is easy. We ate at the onsite restaurant but also went into town for dinner a few nights. Even though the Magic Sand beach was “out,” it was stunningly beautiful. We drove south to Captain Cook, north to Kohala coast, over to the east side of the Island, and around Kona for adventures. We appreciated having this condo as our home base.

The view was stunning - ocean view on two sides. You might not want to leave the condo! It is bright and spacious. Plenty of storage. The bed is comfortable, but I chose the sofa bed to be next to the window to view the ocean. All the equipment you need to prepare breakfast or lunch (for dinner, better to plan leftovers, take-out or eat out - once the sun is down the cooking area is a bit dim for meal prep) The blue ice in the freezer was great for packing food and snacks when we went exploring. Beach equipment, Plenty of towels. No folding rack to hang suits & towels to dry, but I had an elastic clothesline. We enjoyed the pool too. We ate twice at the on-site restaurant. The Condo is also a short drive to other shops and places to eat. Overall, wonderful and relaxing.

Nice condo with great ocean view in a reasonable location. Unfortunately the Magic Sands were magically gone and the beach was rocky and gnarly. Kind of rough surf for my taste and ability. We could see lots of yellow tang fish and black ones from the window when the sun came out and the wind was not blowing. Saw the whales breaching from the window and a pod of dolphins. My main problem was with the mirrors on almost every surface. Confusing for me although I know it is to make the room seem larger. Needs another shade in the kitchen to keep the lights from the highway in front from reflecting off the mirrors and windows. You don’t hear the road much because the surf is roaring almost constantly like a train going by. I got used to it. It’s really close. About 20 feet away. Even though the pictures look like the condo has one, there is no balcony. It was curiously removed to make the rooms larger. Not a new building but mostly well maintained. A good stay all things considered.

Had a issue on first night with oven, because of time difference between Hawaii and Canada I was not able to get anyone that night. But in the morning owner did contact us and fixed issue. Great location, 5-star view, had everything anyone could need.

This condo is right next to the waves. Never thought id get tired of the waves but winter swells almost did it. But not quite. Waking up and seeing up and down the coast with the help of the mirrors was at first disconcerting but after i got used to it. It was awesome to see every direction all at once. A very great location and your own parking space was also a bonus. We arrived on a very late midnight flight and no worries about finding or getting into our condo. This is a corner apt, the view is incredible. And ted was quick and to the point in correspondences. There are coolers on site and found the chairs and boogie boards, along with other treasures on the last day. Right in the closet.

The location is good and with good view. But the condo is old. There are dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we got in the condo. There is only one blind in the kitchen and living area which facing the park lot. Feel lack of privacy. Two homelessness guys stayed in the corridor beside our front door for one night. The property is not well managed.

Beautiful views every angles. Next to local park and beach. You see tropical fishes and dolphins right from the sliding doors. Great snorkeling spots right in front of condo. Everything you need for a Hawaii vacation including ice chests, umbrella, and boogie board. Ted is a great host and very accommodating. Definitely come back again if visiting big island.

This property had the most incredible view I have ever had in any location. You are right on top of the water with the crashing waves. Very close to a beach which is a rarity in most of the big island. The rooms inside were well set up.

Being on the third floor we kept the sliding doors open so we could hear the waves crash. A spacious open set up that wasn’t at all stuffy.

Simply walking in and seeing nothing but ocean! That did it. It’s the first place I've ever stayed that was greater than my expectations. I'm ALWAYS let down, but not THIS time! Beyond the view and sound of ocean, it had everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and the location was great too.

Clear information for check in and out . Very clean . Got everything you would need for cooking your own foods , all what you would need at the beach (2 beach chairs, umm, cooler,noodles for floating, boogie boards,2 air conditioning, 2 fans. Sleep 4-5. Walk to magic sands next to the building.Laurdry on site ( I used app to pay for laundry) Beach get crowded but we are next to the beach .

OMG!!! I am seriously planning my next vacation not around my work calendar, but around when 314 is available. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
