Beachfront Condo Poipu Beach Amenities Galore

I booked beachfront with direct access to the water but our unit was not close water at all, also there was no AC

Book it! Is it a 5 star resort? No. But the lace was exactly what we needed. Host had some cool beach amenities. Overall place was clean. Keep in mind all units are a tropical open style with shutters. Really didn’t have a big problem so don’t believe the BS. They did do a pest treatment while we were there on the building but didn’t affect our stay. There’s a few items that can be addressed for maintenance but not deal breakers. Location for us was great, close to pool, coffee and laundry. Beach access was actually prime time cause we spent most of our beach time at Poipu and there was access thru the resorts. The bad….no coffee filters lol. We bought a pack and some travel cups and left them there. Hopefully future guest can utilize them. That’s not something I think the host can really be on the hook for our stay on top of. The bed was comfortable and the pull out couch worked great for the kids. There’s a little mildew in the bathroom but it’s a design flaw as well as the climate and style of the units. It’s a tropical paradise people! The stove appeared to be cleaned by the resort and put back incorrectly. Few minutes of messing with it and we go the burners reconnected and the oven to close properly. Overall I would 100% recommend booking the unit and will keep it as a option for future trips to Poipu. It’s a bottom unit but doesn’t have direct access to the grass but again these things weren’t huge for us.

A good value for the south shore. If you want to be close to the beach, this isn’t the condo for you. On a plus side- very close to the road without any noise and across the street from little fish and the sopping center. A pleasant stay for a couple days.

Great property, we had a great stay

First of all wasn’t happy with the extra 318 for the cleaning fee paid after booking on vrbo paid at check in. Room was clean we were thankful able to get into room little earlier- since weather not the greatest. Room is in need of updating- coffee table was unstable was afraid to put anything on it. The toilet was facing towards the shower- if you are a taller or larger person- good luck will be difficult. Was far away from the beach- could hear the loud music from across the street late at night. Had microwave on counter since mounted one broken. Also a kitchen drawer broken appeared stuck. The shower pressure was great though. The encounters we had with those working around the property were great- the housekeeper and grounds keepers- helpful.

We have stayed at Kiahuna Plantation several times in the last few years and love the property. This condo was comfortable and had everything that we needed for our stay. Unfortunately, there were some spaces that were not clean as expected upon check in. The shower had multiple strands of hair on the walls and there were stains on the under side of the toilet seat. There was also hair on the fitted sheet on the bed. We cleaned the areas ourselves and ultimately enjoyed our stay.

Needed a sponge in the kitchen . Beach is not accessible from the property . Overall unit is fine . The workout center ,pool ,restaurant and other facilities is across the street , but it was excellent .

Check in was posted as 3pm. Our room was not ready until almost 4:20pm. So that was a little frustrating. There is a bar across the street that does a live DJ every last Friday of the month. It was very loud and they played until 11:15pm. That would have been nice to know, especially if you have an early morning the next day like we did. Between the bar, construction right outside and the neighbors (which I know they don’t have control over) it wasn’t what I would say is a quiet location as it’s advertised. Maybe we have a different expectation of what that means. It was a clean area and a good location otherwise. Beach was in walking distance and there’s a good amount of stuff within walking distance as well and the bar was good

We had a wonderful stay! The location is great, easy to walk to many places. My kids LOVED the pool and waterslide. The grounds are beautiful! The only downside was the noise; lots of leaf blowers, weed eaters, lawn mowers etc. Also noise from the busy-ish road nearby. However that wouldn't sway us from staying again, just something to know when you book. Thank you for your part in our wonderful holiday!

Great location. Quiet and clean.

Overall the property is pretty much what it claims to be. Finding the correct beach through the maze of buildings is a little annoying but it was a reasonable walking distance. Biggest complaint is the EXTRA CLEANING FEE that isn't charged by VRBO. It is technically in the fine print of the listing, but in my opinion should be in the up front cost paid online.

This unit is in need of repairs and updating. The toilet did not work properly and all the appliances were old. There was a large cleaning which didn't make sense considering the place wasn't that clean. The unit has screens with shutters that can't be sealed off and the screens are old with lots of holes so it is impossible to keep out insects. You may as well be camping. The only saving grace is the complex and location. The property has beautiful grounds and a basically private beach.

This was our first stay on the south end of Kauai and this property with its location and accessibility to the beach and sites in the area was ideal. Our apartment was very nice, comfortable, welcoming. Appreciate the amenities of the complex, towel service, check in, parking.

The athletic club across the street was great. Close to the beach. No air conditioning. A few critters (cockroaches) to contend with. Not a lot of privacy with the open windows open.

I have to tell the story so that no one else goes through the same thing. I arrived in Kauai and spent 4 wonderful days at a resort in Hanalei (which I highly recommend in the north). But when I arrived at this property in Poipo it was a nightmare! They have a nest of cockroaches throughout the unit. According to the management, they tried to kill them with a spray that didn't work (they only spent 2 minutes and they put two traps). They never offered to change my unit. Only Katie the host wanted to give me back the remaining money because I had already spent one night 😱. Not even the full amount... The entire resort is dirty. Unfortunately I couldn't find another room and I had to stay doing thousands of things to not attract more cockroaches. Every day I covered the pipes, closed all my suitcases, and disinfected everything before using it. Definitely not the kind of vacation we expect. I tried to do everything possible so that my young daughters didn't suffer on their vacation. They couldn't even lie on the floor like any other child because of the negligence of the resort. The receptionist mocked me sacrastically saying "welcome to Hawaii" and justified herself by saying that this type of insects were normal. But IT IS NOT TRUE! I spoke with local people who live there and other property owners and they all agree with the same thing. It is NOT Normal!!! The unit has cockroach problems. I hope you take my recommendation!!

Enjoyed how close to the beach we were and loved having access to the pool and athletic club. No a/c in unit but good cross breeze and fans which kept us comfortable. Paid laundry units within walking distance.

Property was fine. Kitchen lacking in some places. Appliances seemed on the cheaper side, which didn't matter too much as we ate out primarily. One of the beach chairs was broken, so both adults couldn't sit together on the beach. Biggest issue was that the property had us scheduled to depart a day before we were booked through and we ended up locked out of the condo while they contacted the owner. Was a little stressful. Location is great for access to shops and restaurants

We stayed here for a few nights toward the end of our trip so we could explore the South shore. Solid location close to Poipu beach and lots of restaurants and shopping. Bed was big and comfy. Our main issue was the gnat problem in the bathroom. It’s a beach front property with a pool but the pool is across the street in the fitness center they partner with; we did not ever go to the pool though so this was less of an issue, just something to consider if you plan to use it. The beach is short walk as the property is closer to the street entrance which did lead to some highway noise.

Best resort property on Kauai.

The suite was very clean and has a very comfortable king bed. It was nice to have two TVs so when we put the little one in the main room to bed, we could watch TV in our bedroom. One of The Tommy Bahamas beach Chairs was broken and the fan in the main room is not working up to full speed, but the fan in the bedroom was very powerful we didn’t miss the AC

Great location. Clean and comfortable. Snorkelling is great on the beach and of course the turtles coming up every evening is amazing. We have tweens and location was great for us. No AC, but you adjust quickly. Open up at night and close up in the mid-morning.

We were just a little disappointed in the details of the condo. Although it was clean, it was a little worn and dated. None of the furniture matched the photos and several items listed didn't match what was listed on the VRBO website. The table legs were so loose we had to call to have them tightened, the living room fan had one low speed and the remote to it didn't work. The box fan didn't work. Since the unit didn't have air conditioning, these things were important. There was no umbrella. One of the beach chairs was very broken and the one beach "boogey" board was actually a tiny kick board. The shower handle needs to be replaced or tightened down but was functional. The bedroom was great! Overhead fan fast and cooling and that room had the only operational tv. Great king size bed, lots of clothing storage. It just felt neglected and like the owner hadn't been there to check on things in a while. We still enjoyed our stay and the price was reasonable, but think the photos and description need updating. matched

I stayed at Kiahuna Plantation with my family when I was a kid, and I was very excited to come back with my children now. It is a truly unique place, a real Hawaii feel as opposed to resort feel. This condo unit is in great shape and well cared for. It is set back a bit from the beach area, but that worked well for us as it was very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful place, beautiful trip. We will be back.

We had an amazing time in Poipu and the condo was perfect for the price. It had everything we needed and more. The location was more than ideal. The beach is just down the street, restaurants, bars, the beach club all near by. It was fantastic. Thank you.

Great home base for our family. One of the folding chairs was broken but everything else was comfortable and as expected.

Everything was as described and in great condition (except the “market” across the street is more a tourist shop than an everyday market). We had a wonderful trip and the host was quick to respond to questions. Thank you!

My wife and I spent 4 days here and had a fabulous time. The condo was tidy and had sand chairs, an ice chest, an ironing board, snorkle gear and a boogie board to use as we wished. The 3 minute walk on the beautiful property grounds to the beach made our time here even more memorable!

This is a very nice place to stay, close to a beautiful beach, though you have to walk a little to get there. You can't hear the ocean from there but there is a little traffic noise. They have everything you could want for the beach, including 3 very high quality snorkeling sets. We'd definitely consider staying here again though might splurge and stay closer to the ocean.
