Whale watcher's delight! Spacious penthouse, views

This is a spacious, well equipped condo in an excellent location! We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here and were sad to leave. We spent time relaxing on the spacious lanai watching the ocean. Amazing views from the balcony and you can even see the ocean from the master BR. It’s one of the largest 2 BR condos we have seen, and it had all the kitchen gadgets you could want! They even left shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and a starter supply of coffee and laundry detergent which was so nice! It also had a nice assortment of books, games, and some puzzles. We didn’t use them but there were beach chairs and snorkel gear, as well as plenty of beach towels. The path to Hideaway Beach (our favorite) is adjacent, and Pu’u Poa Beach is a short walk away. We found the decor & furnishings very appealing, & beds were nice & comfy. We were a little nervous about lack of AC in May, but this condo has so many windows & fans, and SUCH an amazing cross breeze that it wasn’t an issue! In fact, I was chilly some nights! LOL We look forward to a return visit!

This place is perfect for a relaxing trip to the north shore. Quiet, spacious, close to Princeville and Hanelai - JUST BOOK IT

We stayed a week after staying a week on the south side and we were not ready to leave. This place is beautiful and the pics don't really do it justice. Would definitely stay here again! We did see one whale and several dolphins from the deck. The outdoor grill could use an update but everything else about this place was top notch.

This place is amazing. One of the highest quality VRBO‘s we’ve experienced when you include the incredible views the beautiful apartment and the amenities. This place was awesome. We definitely plan to come back.

Extremely well stocked kitchen and the views of the ocean were beyond expectation. The condo was very clean and spacious! Everything promised came through!

The property was magnificent. The views from the deck are beyond breathtaking. The kitchen is well stocked and there is plenty of room for 2 couples or a family.

We were surprised at all the beach gear. We also liked to use the telescope to view the ocean.The bed was very comfortable as was the living room furniture. Our only issue was not being able to use the balcony much due to a plugged drain, keeping standing water over half the area must of the time. Overall, we could tell the owner has great attention to detail and wants everyone to have a great vacation.

We stayed here for 11 days in March. Overall this property is outstanding. The location is second to none with amazing views access to two outstanding beaches and a large resort hotel. As several reviews have noted the sectional couch in the living room is worn and not comfortable. The sheets in the Master BR were also worn and in need of replacement. Some people may find the lack of air-conditioning to be an issue – however throughout our stay, we were comfortable except during a couple of afternoons when a shower is passed by in the wind died down. The unit is very well equipped in all respects, and the kitchen is equipped with the right amount of the right things that are new and up-to-date. We did have one issue in communications with the management company. They switched out of the app and started communicating through email without giving any notification that they were doing so. This caused some issues with us getting our check instructions in a timely way. Would definitely stay here again.

We (a couple with 2 teenage girls) enjoyed our stay here. The condo is very spacious and could located a short walk from Hideaway beach. The path to the beach is a little steep but very manageable with the roped handrail to assist. We were provided with everything we needed to have a wonderful time including beach chairs, snorkels, mask, umbrella and boogie board.

The unit is a little outdated and still needs a few minor repairs, but nothing that would keep us from staying at this property again. Everything we needed was on-site. The condo was very comfortable and made us feel at home. The views are breathtaking from every room and the top floor unit made us feel like we were there all alone.Thank you to Kauai Kahuna Vacations group. Your staff was first class and very responsive. The welcome texts and access to concierge service was next level.We are looking forward to booking our next vacation at Puu Poa.

Everything was great as usual- the penthouse views are amazing, the condo is roomy and comfy - kitchen supplies are great and a good selection of games and books are available. The beach chairs were very much appreciated - but we couldn't find beach towels in the same place, and because they didn't look like traditional beach towels, we didn't find them for a day or so until the owner told us where to find them and what they looked like. Our only other inconvenience was difficulty with remotes and accessing cable channels. The instructions provided were inaccurate and not sufficient. We muddled our way through and mostly ended up watching Prime instead. Overall a great place to stay and we highly recommend it!

We enjoyed our stay at Puu Poa 405 very much--the views and whale watching were amazing!

Fortunately, this was not the first time we were on Kauai (this was our 6th time), so we were not really upset when it absolutely poured rain (like I have never seen before) for six days and six nights - constantly. We had previously done all that Kauai had to offer. If we had not, this would have been a wasted stay. I am not exaggerating. Accordingly, we could not sit out on the beautiful lanai that overlooked the ocean. We could, however, hear the ocean. We absolutely froze the first few nights in the condo as many windows (eight) facing the ocean would not close. The main bedroom television did not work and four days after we reported it, someone finally showed up and said we needed a new cable box. We did not receive one during our stay. Other issues were similarly not addressed until the fourth day of our six day stay. "Property management" was severley lacking. The main bathroom sink faucet sprayed water everywhere. The locks did not work on either the lanai screen or sliding door. The kitchen was lacking in utensils and the bath towels were only average. The owners obviously do not trust renters with nicer things. We also stayed in a condo on Maui and a house on Oahu on this trip and this condo was the worst in terms of thinking of items renters may need or enjoy and in terms of quality. While this condo could be a wonderful place to stay, it needs updating, repairs (rusted mirrors, one large area of the floor was duct taped) and nicer accoutrements.
