The Island: Kauai, the 'Garden Island,' is composed of a diverse terrain that is home to rain forests, canyons, cliffs and beaches. To the north is the rugged Na Pali district, with peaks as high as 4,000 feet, and remnants of ancient places of worship. On the island's east side, the Wailua River wends its way through dense forests and plunges over waterfalls before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. To the south is the tourist district, once the vacation destination of royalty. On the west side, is the sleepy town of Waimea, near where Captain Cook first landed. In the center of the island is Mount Wai'ale'ale, the Earth's rainiest spot.
Activities: In addition to the beach across the river in front of your vacation home, which is about a 10 minute walk around the bay to access it, you can drive a few minutes north or south for world-famous surfing, diving and snorkeling at Tunnels Beach, or continue past the wet and dry caves to the end of the road at Haena. Snorkel there, or start your North Shore hike along Kauai's famed Na Pali coastline. Also available nearby are scuba diving, wind-surfing, sailing, deep sea fishing, submarine tours, top-flight golf courses, spas, hiking, horseback riding, helicopter tours, and shopping and dining. Rent a kayak or SUP and paddle along the Hanalei river. Alternatively, you can just relax on the lanai in the ocean breeze, with a exotic island snack, a smoothie or your favorite tropical drink.

We appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and scenic beauty of the property.
If I could give this home ten stars, I would. The host was great at communicating with me from the time that I booked with her until we departed. She swiftly answered my calls/ texts while we were there. This home IS paradise. It's immaculate, gorgeously furnished and organized. When we entered we could feel and hear the ocean. The view is indescribably stunning. We were able to keep the sliding doors open all day & night and enjoyed several bar-b-qued dinners on the lanai. Every roon has their own bathroom which is helpful with 6 adults. Our adult children LOVED everything about our stay. They said "this is the best week of our lives!!" I AGREE!! Thank you for a flawless time in your beautiful home. Bonus-- there is the cutest little coffee shop across the street- a 15 second walk with delicious coffee and scones This is forever etched in our memory banks. Mahalo
The two master bedrooms and baths were large, beautiful, with views and comfortable. The 3rd bedroom lacks a closet and is small but does have a bath. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice big lanai and enjoyed sitting out there watching the ocean and hearing the waves. The main thing to know is even though it’s just over 3 miles to Hanalei where lots of restaurants and grocery, those 3 miles take almost 15 minutes due to lots of turns and several one lane bridges. So it’s not as quick of a trip to town as you may want. Also can’t get to beach out front without driving down the road. The narrow curvy road with no sidewalks is not really safe to walk. It is very secluded and away from the hustle and bustle. Can chill and just enjoy the beauty.
Those views though!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Wainiha. The home was exactly as listed. The host was communicative and even reached out to us directly during the tsunami situation. WiFi worked 100% of the time which is very important when you’re on the north shore. The home was clean, the two aside neighbors were very friendly, and we loved the three shops directly across the street. We hardly heard roosters our entire trip. Thanks Victoria!
This place has so much going for it. The views are incredible: floor-to-ceiling windows stretch across the whole back of the house. We felt right at home and had plenty of space to stretch out in the living spaces and kitchen (there were 6 of us). The back patio has lots of great seating as well. The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet at night and we could sleep with the windows open so we could hear the ocean waves. We loved that each bedroom had a bathroom (very nicely updated). We all agreed that we will miss this place! It takes just a few minutes to drive to some of the best North Shore beaches. The owner is awesome at communicating and so helpful. She cared for us as her honored guests not just as customers, and patiently answered many questions and provided lots of helpful information. We highly recommend this owner and home!
This location was beautiful! The water was a little rough when we arrived but calmed during our stay. The views are amazing! The rooms are very nice and clean. Plenty of room for all of us. There was a coffee shop and small store right across the street that was super convenient. We'd definitely stay here again. We loved every minute of our Kawai vacation.
You have likely seen the photos for this property so the feedback is simple: amazing and for us exactly what we hoped for when we first saw the listing. The lanai in the back is the place to be…starting when you wake up and ending while watching the sun sets. Even, or especially, when it is raining, the experience/view really made us appreciate the opportunity to stay here.Bedrooms are spacious as are the bathrooms…overhead fans at night were nice. Kitchen had everything you could want…and if espresso is your coffee of choice then the cafe across the street has a great vibe. Also, we enjoyed the conversations with the folks who work there.10 minutes from Hanalei and from Haena, so a great location to get to the beaches and hikes and stores and restaurants.Highly recommended!
We loved going to sleep hearing the waves and feeling the breeze. Kitchen is well appointed. We were 6 adults and a 5 yo. You can see the beach and river but accessing it is not easy. There are plenty of beautiful beaches to explore so just have to plan on driving a little ways. Comfortable beds and great showers.
Very communicative management. Well appointed. Updated kitchen and bathrooms. Nice quiet neighborhood. Cute market with coffee shop and sandwich shop across the street. All good but broken stove knobs, hard to operate the stove.
Great place to stay. Quaint little store and coffee shop across the street was very handy. Beautiful view of the ocean along with the sound of the waves crashing ashore was an awesome experience. Thank you
The property was perfect. Clean, easy to cook in (we made a turkey with all the fixings for Thanksgiving) and a great location. The ocean is visible from every room and I’ll miss falling asleep to the ocean sounds. Beaches were fantastic as was the access to the Na Pali coast! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The house was great and the location was perfect. My only complaint was that it was hot during the day without A/C and the pictures make it look like you can walk or swim across the river right to the beach but that isnt true. Its a decent walk to that beach but in reality thats not the beach you want to hang out on anyways. I will one day, hopefully, stay here again because we had a great time and the set up was just about perfect!
The home was well appointed with every necessity in the kitchen and also beach gear (chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear) was great. Very comfortable home with an incredible view and convenient market and coffee/shave ice/sandwich shop right across the street. Our host was very helpful in making recommendations for activities and restaurants. A most wonderful vacation for our family!
This was our second stay at this lovely, well-appointed waterfront home on one of Kauai's most beautifully isolated
Kitchen is well equipped. View is amazing through luxurious sliding windows. Beds are very comfortable. Wi Fi works, but expect cell phone reception to be spotty because the locals don"t want a tower. Location is perfect for visiting the north shore. If we return, we hope to find this vrbo still available. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay on the North Shore is this very comfortable home! Thank you for the island tips for restaurants, beach parking and adventures! We would love to stay here again!
The house and view is beautiful and amazing. Enjoyed the county market across the street and the local animals that came to visit. No matter where you went on the island you saw many different things and people were pleasant and the food trucks were amazing. Enjoy the fire show, tubing and the side by side adventure.
It is a magical amazing place. We are so happy we picked this lovely property!
Great place to stay, this was our 3rd time at this location. F
