Pali Ke Kua 106, Fabulous view near a bluffs edge

This charming, clean townhome had spectacular views, a well-appointed kitchen, and a super comfortable king-size bed. Don't plan on taking an afternoon siesta if you're in unit 106 as the bedroom windows faced the busy walkway leading to units 101 through 105 and to the property's private pathway to Hideaway Beach. (I could hear lots of conversations and roller bags on the sidewalk during the day through the louvered windows that provided air circulation. But note, it was very quiet overnight.) And the verdant lawn beyond the lanai was as beautiful as the pictures but was for show only - the exotic nene geese continuously re-fertilized it with their droppings. I never missed that there was no A/C for the nights I stayed in late May; I actually enjoyed the sound of the ocean waves crashing below the cliffside property. Finally, there were two separate charges on my credit card shortly after booking: one for the property and one for VRBO's fee. I'd really rather not know how much extra I spent by using the platform.

We stayed four nights and loved it! I liked the dark green tropical decor, the well made and pretty rattan furniture. I appreciated having the use of a cooler, 2 beach chairs and an umbrella. The dining nook is charming and best seat in the house in my opinion. The view was amazing! Privacy was sketchy at times with people from other areas using the grassy area to view sunsets, a group of 7 teens planted themselves for over an hour - but hey, I guess it is an open area. And the path to the beach is right next to the dining nook so we kept that shade closed. By the way, LOVE the shades! The wifi could be slow and iffy, tv buffered etc. Nothing to hinder really, just had to reconnect a few times. I was concerned about no A/C but we were totally comfortable the whole time! Used the ceiling fans and windows. And whenever we left we closed the indoor shades and lowered the lanai shades. Thank you so much, we would stay here again! Beautiful property

Perfect location & view. We were able to set out & watch the whales & had several wanting to know how we were able to get this location. I would recommend this property to anyone coming to this area.

We loved sitting on the porch and watching the sunset each night- it was nothing short of spectacular.The dwelling itself is rundown and in dire need of renovation. Two emails we sent to property management prior to our arrival never received a response, but check-in and out was easy.Overall, if you don't mind not having A/C or anything close to fancy amenities, the fantastic view and amazing location might work for you.

Incredible view. The condo could use a deep clean but it was clean enough. Kaua’i is a very special place.

Excellent location for view and value. This well appointed one-bedroom overlooks entire Hanalei Bay with Bali Hai view. Lanai & grassy overlook makes it complete. Walk steep ramp down to small private beach, or to VG public beach with restaurant, bar & amenities (access via stairs adjacent to 1 Hanalei Bay Hotel). Car needed to enjoy Hanalei retaurants & other amenities. Will Return.

The view was magnificent This was our 2nd Pali Ke Kia visit & we loved it again. The 1st floor unit provided an open area from the lanai to the back yard and ocean view. Just breath taking sunset with the mountains and ocean view

The unit had everything we needed. The only slight negative was a few cockroaches and the 'tv' is really just a computer monitor.

The paratmenr has everything you need- chairs, umbrella, cooler, well stocked kitchen. The WiFi is terrible, even being right next to the modem. And the tv is very very small. In this day and age of inexpensive TV’s it would be nice if they upgraded to something you can see from the sofa.

Had to close the shades to block out the sun, which kind of defeats the purpose of that gorgeous view during the afternoon hours. (Fans have nothing on the beating sun in August.) Also, people often hang out on the lawn to see the sunset, take photos, etc. This didn't bother us, but good to know if you are planning a stay.)We let KVR know when we returned keys to the office that there were MANY dead bugs in the bathroom. Not a handful, but loads. Seems like there is an infestation in the wall or behind the vanity mirror. (I also emailed photos and a video, but did not hear back.) The shower window screen is not flush, so mosquitoes were able to get in. The TV is comically small, smaller than many computer monitors. While we are not visiting Kauai to watch TV, we did want to see the Olympics, and sometimes it's fun to put on a movie. FYI PKK pool is quite small, and BBQing is not permitted on the property. (We saw many units with electric grills on the lanai, but not in 106.) One must walk down the rather steep path to the beach to grill! (We did not.)
