If you are looking for the ultimate Kauai experience, then look no further! Located on the North Shore, the most desirable area of Kauai, known for its tropical lushness, sandy beaches, snorkeling, surf and beautiful sunsets.
This 2 bedroom - 1 bath plantation-style cottage sits on one and a half acres on a quiet residential area outside Kilauea town. From our neighborhood, enjoy beautiful mountain (or 'pali') views. Stunning Hanalei Bay and Princeville are a short drive (10-15 minutes) down the highway. The secluded beach, Rock Quarry, is a quick drive down our residential road.
This bright and airy cottage has 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds for parties up to 2 persons only (i.e., a couple or 2 adult traveling companions). There is an extra outdoor shower used mostly by our guests to fully embrace their tropical experience. The fully equipped kitchen is well outfitted for those who wish to prepare meals. The cottage includes linens, Wi-Fi, TV, washer and dryer and other amenities.

The host was extremely welcoming and contacted us twice before our stay. She sent us information through the mail as far as activities and potential restaurants in the area. The home was extremely clean with every thing Needed for the stay.
Adrienne was such an attentive and gracious host. The cottage was beyond wonderful and gave new meaning to "well appointed"! The space was clean, inviting, and ample. Amenities left nothing to be desired, and the kitchen was equipped for just about anything you'd want to prepare. The location can't be beat if you love the North Shore (but also want occasional access to southern destinations). And we LOVED the outdoor shower!
Very clean and cozy. Kitchen had everything you would need in it. Laundry was nice to have. Outdoor shower was unique. Roosters are very very loud so be aware of that. Lol.
Lovely cottage. We had a wonderful time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, comfortable cottage. In particular, we have appreciated the beauty and peace of this special place on our favourite Hawaiian island. When we return home to the UK, we’ll take back happy memories of sunny mornings drinking coffee on the lanai and gazing up at the star filled sky at night. We have had an amazing time and sincerely thank Adrienne for being such an excellent and caring host.
Fabulous property! Everything was perfect. Very close to great restaurants, beaches and gardens. Highly recommend the farm to table dinner and garden tour at Common Ground (less than 10 minutes away). Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
I loved this 2 bedroom house on an acre of land in Kilauea. Quiet and beautiful, down the road from Kahili Beach
We totally enjoyed our stay at Hale Mahana. We found the property clean and well maintained. We found everything we needed to cook and grill. The area very peaceful and quiet. We would highly recommend Hale Mahana we can't wait to return
In the middle of paradise we stayed in this extremly wellkept and wonderfull cottage. The estate area was big with beatiful views. Kitchen had all modern equipments . The two bedrooms have nice quinnbeds. Even the outdoor shower gets top mark.
Hale Mahana has everything you would expect from a hawaiian cottage. And it is in perfect shape. Whether Lanai, bedrooms, kitchen, outdoor shower, tranquillity or birds music everthing makes the stay perfect. Thank you Adrienne
Perfect for us!!Loved everything Outdoor shower was greatPeaceful, Thank you so much!Thank you s
If this place is available, grab it! Super chill!! Great location. This charming cottage is located in a peaceful neighborhood on a huge piece of land. The veranda looks out over an expansive lawn with Chinaberry tree where a wide variety of birds roost. Beds and furniture are comfy and tasteful; the kitchen has everything you need. There are nice markets in Princeville and Kilauea. If you’re up for a splurge (and like whiskey) eat at Avalon Gastropub - delicious, beautifully prepared dishes and cocktails!
Our stay was great. We really enjoyed being in a quiet part of the island, with shops, restaurants, beaches, and hikes nearby. Adrienne was a great resource for us and she is very organized and thorough!
This was our third time staying at Hale Mahana on the north shore of Kauaii and we enjoyed it this time just as much as the previous visits. We especially appreciated how organized the owner is especially in the rental agreement and in giving directions and suggestions. The house is well-equipped with everything you might need--a well-furnished kitchen, laundry facilities, comfortable furniture, and even an outdoor shower which we used nearly every day. Also, the cottage comes with necessary beach equipment--beach chair, towels, mats etc. Suggestions for restaurants and places to visit were very helpful. My husband and I are in our 70's and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and relaxed feel to the cottage. Definitely we would recommend Hale Mahana for a couple looking to have a relaxing Hawaiian experience.
Beautiful property in a quiet scenic neighborhood. Close to beaches and necessities. Extremely clean. Kitchen has everything needed to cook a meal and more. Adrienne an excellent communicator! Mahalo!!
Perfect little cottage for our stay! Adorably decorated, clean and bright in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Well appointed and convenient location. Easy communications with the owner. Highly recommend.
Lovely property on the beautiful North Shore of Kauai! Peaceful and so Zen. The house is comfortable and well equipped. We will definitely be back
We kept saying the whole time: this is by far the best property we've ever rented. The area is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, it's wonderfully decorated and the private outdoor shower is a real luxury. The best part of all is the host Adrienne. She's super helpful, a pleasure to talk to, and provided great tips anout Kauai. Thank you!
Beautiful location
A nice relaxing week. The house had everything we needed. We loved it
We loved EVERYTHING about this beautiful cottage! Adrienne, you are the perfect host! We loved being back on North Shore Kauai and this cottage was our wonderful Kauai "home." Mahalo nui from Connie and David, Whidbey Island, Washington.q
The owner has really thought about almost everything. Everything is labeled; there are notes, letters and binders. The owner asks for some cleaning help, but in the end all the notes and stickers make it easier to rmeber things for me. There is also a very helpful neighbor who became crucial when the bathroom door became locked the last night with no one inside. The owner said it was not the first time it had happened and it took over an hour-on our last night there- for the neighbor to crawl through a high, small window to open it. I would rather have spent the last night there spending time with my family. In all, however, a great place.
Adrienne’s place is a hidden gem very well located on the North shore. We felt right at home and enjoy the amount of space in and around the cottage, and the cozy cottage. Adrienne was very responsive. We are thankful we could use the beach chairs, towels and cooler. We hope to come back again!
My wife and I expected to find a nice comfortable place for our 10 day stay on the North Shore. What we found was actually much more. The house itself is very comfortable and only 10 minutes or so to groceries, fun and too many beaches to count or remember. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower and in fact never used the indoor one even once! If you enjoy living the quiet life but still being close to all of Kauai’s points of interest… you certainly won’t be disappointed! I’d rate this 6 or 7 stars but 5 is as high as it goes.
Adrienne was pleasant and very helpful to work with. Our search for a quiet, serene “escape” more than met our expectations for our ten night stay. We had all the comforts of home for preparing meals yet didn’t have to venture far for activities and dining out if desired. The lanai was our favorite perk along with the tropical breeze throughout the cottage for the duration of our stay. Mahalo Adrienne!
Had a wonderful time - everything lived up to expectations and we'll be back.
I can't say enough good things about this property. As soon as we stepped in the front door it was even better than expected. The neighbourhood was fantastic and we had some great conversations with the neighbours during our morning and evening walks/runs. We would start and end every day sitting on the lanai watching the birds and enjoying the view. Adrienne was such an attentive host. I really appreciated her reaching out before our arrival and providing us with great information about the area and things to do. And the place had everything we needed which made for a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation. We hope to return again, but next time we'll stay for longer because of how great our experience was.
Hale Mahana was truly an oasis or maybe an ark. Our 10 days in Kauai were fabulous but more than a little wet so we truly enjoyed everything about the house. Adrienne is a dream to work with and she really has thought of everything. The house is well represented by the photos. It was perfect for us (2 women friends traveling together) as both bedrooms were roomy with great air circulation, ceiling fans and incredibly comfortable beds (a big deal because I am never comfortable on other mattresses). One BR stands alone while the second has pocket doors that open to the living room. The bathroom is a good size with great water pressure. The second outdoor shower was helpful. (We only wished there was a better path between the outdoor shower and the front door). The kitchen and living room are open plan and very well equipped with sliding glass doors out to the lanai that is perfect for a glass of wine and incredible star gazing on clear nights. The house has neighbors but they are not uncomfortably close. The roosters are real folks as are egrets and tons of other lovely birds who visit the house. If the windows are open, the house and the entire island, comes with a wildlife alarm clock. Adrienne has provided everything for the beach including chairs and beach towels. We did visit the closest beach (1 mile down the road) several times and it is a wonderful stretch of sand. We highly recommend this house for couples or friends traveling together as a base for your adventures
Staying at Hale Mahana was so enjoyable! It is located in a beautiful quiet setting and you truely feel like you are in paradise! Adrienne has thought of everything to make you feel comfortable and right at home. It is truely a gem and we loved everything about it. ** Highly recommended!! **
This was a very quiet and lovely location- suburban style lawns with some beautiful trees. It worked very well for us, especially sitting on the porch as dusk fell.
Paradise found
