Oceanfront, Stunning View, Remodeled, 1 BR, A/C, Pono Kai C305

This condo was a beautiful oceanfront property. The bike/walking path is directly in front of the building, so there was a bit more action there than the listing could illuminate. But the property was beautiful and conveniently located. My granddaughter and I loved the time there.

We had a great stay in this unit. It is exactly as pictured, which is great. Excellent location in Kapa'a, making it easy to get around the island. Local shops , restaurants, coffee shops are really close and wonderful. We will go back!

Lovely location, quiet, no issues at all. We didn’t use the coin laundry, but another guest was very happy with the machines, said they worked quickly and well. Would happily return.

Our stay was wonderful. The view from the patio was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning. The location was also very convenient. We were close to the town of Kapaa and enjoyed walking the bike path that runs infront of the condo. We were a short drive from hiking trails and public beaches.

Perfect location to view the ocean and wonderful sunrises! The unit was just as pictured. The kitchen was very well appointed with most everything you would need to prepare meals. Very clean. The bed was comfortable, a bit on the soft side, but very nice. Lots of fun things in the closet-beach towels, tennis racquets, beach chairs, just bring your own sunscreen (reef friendly per Hawaii) and you are set. A few restaurants within walking distance, quite a few are established food trucks. If you want a little more upscale, you will have to drive to those. Grocery store is about a mile away. We were fortunate spy a few whales in the distance - you do need to know what whale activity you're looking for though, and thanks to the binoculars in the unit, we could see a few tail flips. Despite being a private rental, the resort amenities are available to you-pool, tennis courts, putting greens, exercise room and laundry facilities. A convenient change machine near the lobby will get you all the quarters you need to wash and dry. We did have a slight issue with the HVAC system, but the owner and his on-island contact were very prompt, receptive and helpful. All was well. Mahalo! for a really nice stay.

Very very dirty , started in unit the floors were so dirty I moped four times . The whole condo was very dirty even the cabinets were so sticky, door were nasty . Shower was mold. Bed was nasty took the sheets off to wash them and blood stains where on mattress pad . Sheets were thin and balled up . Towel were old and smells moldy. Unit needs a complete clean up . Tile off the walls . Glass on floor kitchen and bathroom. Walls were painted gloss and all over the walls someone touched up all over the unit in flat paint . Nice view . Living room furniture very Hawaiian but when you sit on them you’re on the floor . Looks nice . Host does not respond. Very nasty place . I have pic of all problems I can forward .

I have stayed at that complex many times over the last 20 years and this had to have been the nicest unit, and of course, the most well positioned there. Lovely balcony with the sound of the waves and the shimmer of the sun in the evening The few concerns we had were taken care of immediately

We were provided with all necessary info on condo beforehand. The condo was very clean and in excellent condition. The ocean views from the balcony were beautiful.

Place is in front the ocean. Great sunrise everyday. Host provided all needed items and clean. Close to all shops

My favorite activity of our whole trip was watching the sunrise each morning on the lanai listening to the waves!

Ocean view was fantastic. Air conditioner didn't work properly after 2 times using it. Called Brenda to tell her about it and she said if might of been the timer was set. We turned the timer off but still didn't work properly. We didn't call her back because we got used to not using it. We did leave her a note stating it should be looked at.I don't think the floors were mopped/swept because there were bugs behind one of the chairs and also found blood spots in the livingroom and bathroom

Beautiful beach view and balcony; the outdoor seating provide a good place to sit and read or take a nap. The air-conditioners and fans are very good once we figure out how to work (had to replace battery in living room fan remote). The living room couch is way too low for us to sit but the two club chairs work out well. All a very enjoyable stay.

Very relaxing. Condo was a perfect fit.

We like the location, and the general property had lovely grounds. The unit itself could use some help. The bed which I was told was new in 2023 is in bad shape. Perhaps it is under a mattress warranty as it should be replaced. It has lumps and bumps, sort of like moguls, and we woke up in pain. After 3 nights we could not take it any more so decided to try out the wall bed. It was a little better. We had to use extra blankets for padding as it was quite hard. The unit was very well stocked and particularly enjoyed the access to beach chairs. The sliding glass door does not have a lock. We were thankful it had a safe. The rug to the lanai was quite dirty and it slipped so we had to relocated it. We enjoyed being able to walk to town.

Just as the pics and listing say. Beautiful sunrises you can watch right from the comfort of your balcony with local eats and shops just a block away.

Central location for visiting the island. Lots of places to eat and shop nearby. Air conditioning worked great in the bedroom and living room. It was nice to be able to borrow a cooler and beach towels.

We loved our stay at C305! We would face found it handy to have 2 gate towels each since the laundry is not in the room but rather in the guest floor, but otherwise, it was great! We loved the view, the choice of ac, the Murphy bed. All of it! It was a wonderful trip and memories we will cherish!

While this is an older building, it has been upgraded and has all the comforts. The location is superb, right on the water with walking path, Swimming pool, hot tub. beautiful grounds, and lots of extras to do., Activities abound at the pool, pingpong, games, and covered patio. I even read a really good book supplied by the owner. Has chairs, coolers, towels for pool available. The location is centered in Kapaa and makes it easy to travel to all corners of the Island. The only improvement I can suggest, is fixing the entrance door so it doesnt stick.. Moisture over time has made it warp in one corner. it takes a little extra force to open and is noisy.. Otherwise it was a great place for us to stay and celebrate our birthdays. Laurie & Gary

Great condo with an amazing view! Well stocked kitchen, beach chairs and beach towels provided as well.

The host was out of town traveling so we didn't hear from him until the day before so that was stressful but everything went smoothly from there. Great location and all amenities you'd need are provided with a Safeway nearby. Furniture was made of cane and a but uncomfortable for sitting. Bed was way too soft for us but glad we had a king.

Older property, but well maintained. We enjoyed the 3rd floor with elevator access and great view of the Ocean! Kauai is changing as always, this place is well located to get to the locations we love on this island. Great hot tube and pool. A functional unit at a reasonable price. Wonderful time on Kaua’i. The condo in Kapaa was in an excellent location, a few steps from the beach. Great place to barbecue or catch a bite at Pacos Tacos nearby. We took many walks along the beach and enjoyed swimming right off the shore. The condo was great, fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy the beach life, comfy bed, great lanai and a kitchen with every gadget needed.

An excellent resort! Condo was as described right on the ocean! Owner easy and fair to deal with! Resort people excellent! Condo well stocked, and stores and restaurants nearby! Great alarm clocks with early rising Roosters!An excellent 2 weeks .Hope to return!

The condo was just as it was advertised and perfect for our needs. Right on the coast and within walking distance of shops, food, the beach, and elevator access was a huge bonus. We watched whales, porpoises, and the sunrise right from the balcony. Hope to visit again someday.

We only stayed 3 nights, but were impressed by the condo. It had everything we wanted, was nice and quiet and very clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely view and lots of fun in Kapaa town!

My family rented 3 units at the Pono Kai Resort. Pono Kai is condo type developement with 10 buildings. This unit is in an excellent location on the third floor near the beach. The unit is extremely well out fitted and easily the best of the three units that my family rented. Kapaa is a short walk away. Pono Kai Resort is about 25 years old and is looking a bit worn but still quite acceptable.

We enjoyed our stay here. You can’t beat the beautiful ocean view! I loved waking up to the sound of the waves every morning. However, make sure you bring your own beach towels! The listing says beach towels are provided but there are only two! We had to go out and buy two more for our family of four which is pretty inconvenient considering we could have just brought our own. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time! Mahalo!

As advertised. Clean quiet nicely decorated. Good kitchen. Right on ocean. Great stay.

The place’s location and the view were very nice. However the place needs upgrading. The bathroom was not very clean especially the toilet. Linens on the bed were old and was not even ironed but It was changed immediately when it was addressed. I am not sure if I will stay at this place again.

Not workingWe had no Airconditioning for 5 days of our stay☀️ Very uncomfortable☀️ Property manager made excuses for the air conditioner not working properly☀️ She should not be a property manager. I can’t recommend this place to stay!!!

This was a nice property with an incredible view. The amenities were also nice. I had concerns about the location based on other reviews which talked about homelessness and addicts on property. We did not have any concerns with this during our visit. The area was very safe and well kept. Furnishings and decor are dated, but well kept up... It felt like home.

view was wonderful. counters and floors could have been better. cleaned ourselves not a big deal. biggest issue was television. was told it was tricky but it was really difficult. wifi was very slow. this is in comparison to other units in the same complex which were much better. oversalll a nice place and satisfied

This property exceeded our expectations and provided everything we needed and more. We loved the option of sleeping in the murphy bed to enjoy the sound of the ocean waves. An ac in the bedroom and living area was lovely, but with the ocean breeze and trade winds, we were able to stay comfortable without using it much. The kitchen was fully stocked, and having access to the beach chairs was great. The only recommendation we would give is to update info for the AC, TV remotes, and location of batteries for remotes. Overall we would stay here again if we ever come back to this beautiful island.

Our condo was nice with a great view and most of the essential items provided. The resort is older with a tiny pool and the beach is narrow during low tide covered at high tide and full of debris. We drove off site for swimming. This location was central for us and we were able to visit all of the island during our week stay.

Great location. Person in charge of on property not so good. TV did not work, condescending response from owner. New TV eventually showed up while we were sailing without notification. I had to program it myself. Outdated appliances. Resort facilities limited. All in all we made it a great time.

My wife and I are extremely happy. with our stay in C 305. We look forward to another stay in the future.

This one bedroom unit at the Pono Kai Resort is very nice with a full kitchen which is well maintained. Unlike some of the other units it has AC which makes it much more comfortable on a hot day. We enjoyed the wonderful view of the ocean at sunrise right from our room. The owner and the on island representative were easy to contact and responded quickly to any questions we had. The awesome thing about this property is that you are just a few steps away from the beach and biking/walking trail. “Bye” until next time.

Well appointed one-bedroom unit; listing and info in unit needs updating. Resort is well-kept and convenient. It’s located right on the beach walk with a terrific ocean view. Listing mentions ac in living room which appears to have been removed some time ago.

From the moment you walk through the door, you feel ease and excitement. The view from the balcony is amazing. The unit is clean and very well stocked! I would check in before hitting the grocery store as many staples have been left behind. Salt, pepper, oil, condiments, cling wrap etc. The grounds at Pono Kai are very well kept and the staff is friendly. It was above my expectations and it really made for a wonderful vacation. I would stay in this unit again without a doubt.

The host was super understanding of my payment blunder and called me to confirm I was indeed coming. I so appreciate that he didn’t cancel my reservation for my mistake. The dual zone air conditioning was a life saver because it gets stuffy. The condo smelled musty like it isn’t used a lot. The apartment had everything we needed including beach towels, shampoo and conditioner, beach chairs. We saw whale spouts off the lanai. The Murphy bed was really comfortable though the king bed mattress was quite squishy. Whatever the case, we really liked the condo and would stay again. Note: I’m a picky traveler with regard to my accommodations and the view plus location plus super host makes it a great choice.

The location and view of this condo is outstanding. It's a good area with a great view, great beach, and plenty of dining options. We would stay here again. Two things i would like to note that could use improvement but arent deal-breakers or enough to signifigantly hurt this review: 1) There is no deadbolt or chain keeper on the door for security. A hotel style door latch or chain keeper would give extra piece of mind for security. The keypad style lock is nice to have but I would have liked both. 2) The condo while cleaned, could really use a deep cleaning. There was quite a bit of dust on the cabinets in the bathroom, there was quite a bit of grit in the rugs in the bedroom, and the water pitcher in the fridge was dirty in the inside. All these things can be easily fixed with a simple deep clean of the condo. Overall, this condo is in a prime location and even of you find a more modern condo, if it doesn’t have the ocean view and great beach like this one, you will regret not staying here.

The unit itself was nice. Check-in was seamless. The view from the unit was beautiful, just like the picture. The walk right by the ocean was exceptional. Access to restaurants nearby were walking distance. The complex itself seemed very tired.

Great location, check-in is a process as you have to check in with front desk. Took 20 mins. Place is very nice and great views, but furniture is dated and a drawer was missing the front.

Oceanfront at its best. Kapaa is perfectly located on the island for travel north, south and west. The 3rd floor unit is right on the beach. Nicely furnished with tile floors throughout. A special thank you to our housekeeper Brenda, for her assistance with a few items. We definitely plan to visit again.
