Kapaa Shore Ocean & Pool View Condo

I would recommend this place especially for the oceanfront location. Host was very kind, accomodating and helpful throughout our stay. Location was central to all areas of the island which made it easy for excursions and hiking. Caretakers of property team were very friendly and keep the area clean. We had 4 people and had plenty of room. Would have loved somewhere in the living area to hang clothes or a dresser to put them. Only recommendation is an upgraded mattress for the pull out bed in the living room but that doesnt deter from the Amazing location and staff. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Had all the basic necessities. Was clean with the exception of some fans and air ducts could’ve been dusted better, just basic overall cleanliness not to be missed. Kitchen did not lack any necessary items needed. The door knobs, screen door, the locking mechanisms for everything should be fixed, more easily to use. Good view of the ocean. The outside grills were clean, very nice to use. Overall, the whole property was pretty clean. Basically no complaints.

The view, pool and location was wonderful. The employee’s onsite are very friendly and helpful. The only real two problems was the bed was too soft had to sleep on hide away and the frame made tons of noise. Flooring had some trip hazards.

Place was in a great location, amenities were clean and well maintained. Would have loved to have air conditioning but we did just fine with open windows and fans.

New appliances are nice. Walk-out level to pool and beach viewing were great too. Furnishings seem a little dated, but not enough to affect the experience. Location is perfect to explore the entire island.

NO air conditioning! My error not realizing. It got up to 91 degrees in the condo. NEED a security door if anything to keep the breeze going through condo. This is a health hazard! My sisters and I (ages from 66 to 70) is dangerous for a heat stroke!ANTS ANTS ANTS.... in the kitchen/dining area. I cleaned up daily sometimes multiple times during the day. And...what kitchen does NOT HAVE a can opener?BATHROOM: water seepage coming from the floor. Maintenance came out and fixed. We made the best of it...being together.

Beautiful view great location

Great central location, enjoyed gorgeous sunrises each morning, lots of thoughtful touches, kitchen had all we needed to cook and eat in the unit, plenty of towels, nice clean pool and grounds. Grateful for onsite laundry. We appreciated the cooler and beach chairs.

We booked a trip to Kauai last minute and luckily this place was available. It was the perfect place to recoup between all of our hikes and kayaking. My kids loved that we had both the beach and a pool right outside our door. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay, although we mainly used it as a place to sleep as we were out and about all day, every day! It was great to have access to a full-size kitchen so we could make and store meals without needing to eat out every day. It was also great to have a separate living room away from the bedroom as it gave us another space to relax in. Having the living room open up to the ocean was amazing, we loved keeping the windows open and listening to the waves crash. Will definitely be back!

Very nice, clean unit in a resort that we have stayed in many times. We love the location and the convenience of being centrally located to everything. Running the path daily to Kelia Beach is always a treat. Was exactly as expected. Check-in/check-out was very smooth and easy.

The condo was clean and nice. We got to see the sunrise most days. I guess maybe I didn’t read the description well enough but I didn’t realize there was not air conditioning. It only came with salt and pepper so be sure to bring your own condiments. Others I have Stayed in have had the basics. The basics meant one roll of toilet paper. We called for more but never got a return call. But on the first day she was quick to call when we got lost To help us. Over all nice stay. Next time I’ll look for air conditioning if I plan to be there in the middle of the day

Our condo at Kapaa shores was in a great location, we were able to walk to the grocery store and it was pretty equidistant to the north and west sides of the island. There is no AC in the unit and with no screen door at the front, we still kept the back and front doors open to get the cross breeze, but had a couple chickens stop by. There really isn't much of a beach on the property but you still get an ocean view. the unit is a bit dated, but we expected that from the images. The host was very responsive - we had a few appliances that didn't work and she acted immediately to fix the issues. One disadvantage is the bedroom faces the parking lot, which means street and porch lights shine in the room, and the sprinklers are right out front. You can't open the curtains because the light shines in and the curtains get wet...with no breeze into the room, it would have been nice to have a window AC unit in the bedroom.

This was my 1st trip to Kauai. I was seeking a central location to the North and South. PROS 30-40 minutes to the North or South. 15 minutes to the airport. A flat, scenic 5 mile bike/pedestrian path right next to the property. A short walk to groceries, restaurants, bars, gas, and more. The resorts next door provided higher end dining as needed. We met many locals at the Taps & Hops Eatery, Mariachi's, Fish Bar Deli, Awa Kava Bar, Big Wave Dave's and more! 1st floor location made it easy to walk out to the pool, shared common grounds and ocean front. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing, although the beach is not ideal for swimming. The exterior grounds are very well maintained by 2 people every day. The unit had plenty of clean towels and gear for the beach (cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, etc.). The kitchen is fully equipped with all the tools needed if you want to cook. I never saw a single bug or critter in the unit. Overall, we found the community clean, friendly & quiet. But if you want to be secluded, this is not the place for you. IMPROVEMENT FEEDBACK To go from basic to great, consider adding a portable AC unit for the bedroom and white shutters (as in some of the other units) to both brighten it and allow guests to sleep with some airflow from outside. A front screen door would also allow airflow throughout the unit if you don't add portable AC units. The bathroom area with the toilet and shower needs an upgrade as it felt cramped and dingy/dirty.

The view and location were fine. We could see the pool and ocean, however there is NO BEACH, even small as was indicated in the description; I specifically asked if there was a safe for valuables, told yes, but no; the windows to the side of the slider are not lockable; the bedroom was extremely stuffy; only ONE of the stand fans worked, but not enough. FILTHY is an apt description as this place is only ever superficially cleaned; I spent time and $ cleaning the filter on the dishwasher and stove to rid the stink, the disgusting shower doors, the coffee splatter, the coffee pot, etc. For the PRICE FEES, you CAN DO BETTER, as cold they.

Overall complex is great, and great location for walking into town or driving north or south. It was nice being on the ground floor with quick access to the pool area. While the unit was clean and tidy, it is showing some wear and tear. The flooring is uneven in places and there is no latch on the patio door - you secure the door with a stick. The bed and pull out couch were comfortable, and lawn chairs and beach towels were provided. Kitchen was adequately stocked, although the only items it had other than dishes were salt and pepper. You'll need to buy/bring everything else. Other units in the complex were stocked with spices, condiments, and dishwasher pods. Overall, it was a great place to spend a week in Kauai. Would stay here again.

I liked everything about this property...what was disappointing was my neighbors above me probably did not realize they had neighbors below them.They must have had children who were constantly running back and forth across their unit and the adults we hearvyfooted.Other folks also upstairs were quite loud late at night.. There was a de-humidifier in my unit that didnt work and was very noisy everytime it turned on automatically..it did not function properly. All in all...i would return and likely stay at this property but will certainly request a unit on the 2nd floor.where i can safely leave the windows safely opened for adequate ventilation....aloha.
