OCEANFRONT! at the Pono Kai Resort in Kauai AMAZING Views AC 2BR/2BA - Kapaa

Joel and Tamara’s condo is absolutely perfect for a stay in Kauai! It’s centrally located, walking distance to town for restaurants, some amazing food trucks, and shopping. The spaciousness of the main living area with it’s expansive view is incredible! The kids walked in first and they were audibly excited with our home away from home. It did not disappoint and perfect for our family of 6.Joel and Tamara were great hosts and communication was clear, concise and appreciated. The unit is part of the Pono Kai resort so we had access to all their amenities. There is a paved walking/biking trail that the runs along the ocean front along with a small beach. There are many other beaches nearby also.Saturday night was a treat as the local community was having a street fair with local food vendors and crafters along with music, etc. Not sure how often they do this but save your appetite that night for the variety of culinary delights prepared by the locals! Also, one of the best breakfasts of our 2 week vacation in both Maui and Kauai was Java Kai in town. The Surfer Girl breakfast sandwich is one of the best we’ve had along with their Avacacdo Toast and Breakfast Burrito. A bit of a wait but well worth it!Once you familarize yourself with the resort you’ll soon find out this is one of the premium 2 story end units that is much larger than the rest of the units. Well worth it! We will stay here again if our travels bring us back to Kauai!

Everything about this place was awesome. The location was great since it was in between the north and south side so we could visit both without too much time in the car. The place was clean, had amazing ocean views and had everything we needed. Even beach chairs and boogie boards. The location was on a beach walking/running trail which was nice since I was training for a marathon. The hosts were top notch with communication on anything we needed. We would stay here anytime we visit Kauai.

The view was everything! Spectacular!The unit was clean and very comfortable The hosts saw to all our needs.

Beautiful view from the balcony, especially the morning sunrise!Place was as described. Great location, half way between the north shore and the south shore.Functional beach area is small but very functional. Additional beach area very close to the north.

A lovely condo located on the beach!! Very well equipped with beach toys and even golf clubs… and the pool and other amenities at the Pono Kai resort were outstanding too! Beds, bedding towels and kitchen supplies were excellent!We hope to stay again!

Great ocean views, condo was clean. Agreat location with plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. We would stay again!

Overall this was a great place for my family. We liked the area and it’s within walking distance of a lot of eating and shopping options. It’s in a good spot to access both the north and south shores of the island. The unit is on the second (top) floor and there was no noise from any other inhabitants. The resort grounds were well maintained with a lot of different things to do - tennis, croquet, giant chess, etc. The pool was a hit with the kids in the evenings. They let kids feed the koi fish every morning.Cons: the front door lock was fairly finicky, there was a code but the mechanism would stick and sometimes not unlock the door.FYI each building has its own coin operated laundry so you may have to wait on others when washing and drying clothes.

Fantastic condo and in a great location. Couldnt ask for a better place to stay with family on Kauai!

Enjoyed our week long stay at the Pono Kai resort. Only issue we had was with the keyless entry since directions on outside of the door wasn’t clear but email instructions from owner helped.

The place seemed more spacious than we expected, and the view was awesome. This is a great location and is walking distance to downtown Kapaa.

This condo is in beautiful Pona Kai Resort with full use of equipment and facilities. Watch the sunrise over the ocean from patio or bedroom. We enjoyed walking along the ocean walkway every morning. Centrally located in Old Town Kapaa

This condo was perfect. The description was exactly what it was. It was so clean and had everything you would need. The view was incredible to just relax and watch the waves. Got to see several whales go by. We brought binoculars which helped. You will not regret renting this property.

This place was perfect for our family of 4. The condo was very spacious and was bigger than expected. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for making meals at home. The view was amazing and sunrises sublime. The location was great if you plan to visit both south and north sides so that you are located in between. The Pono Kai resort was good. Amenities were adequate. You have go to the front desk to check out things like ping pong paddles, croquet set, etc and they close at 6 so we had wished that it was possible to do some of these things after 6. That was our only comment but it is no fault of the condo owner, just an odd resort policy. The resort and grounds were nicely kept. We would stay here again. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We loved our stay at Pono Kai. The location was perfect for exploring all parts of the island. The town of Kapaa has lots of shops & good eats. The sea breeze coming in through the window every morning and night was perfect. There was no need for AC. Very clean and check in/check out were very easy. Would definitely stay again!

Beach front! Fit my family of 5 great. Had all the beach accessories we needed.

Very nice property. We stayed here with grandparents, kids, and grandkids. Six of us in total. Beautiful ocean view and everything we needed for a fun time on the island. Great location. Close to restaurants and grocery stores.

This place was amazing! It was in an amazing location on a resort with lots of things to do and access to so many things around us! The condo had everything we needed and more for our stay. Highly recommend this place.

The week at Pono Kai was awesome. The condo is spacious and has a lot of amenities. The location is perfect for teens who want to venture shopping on their own. Would love to stay there again!

My wife and three young adult daughters stayed for a week over Christmas. Really enjoyed going to sleep at night listening to the waves, having morning coffee on the lanai with the beautiful sunrise, the great beach access, the walkway and short walk to local shops and restaurants in Kapaa. Was a great space and central location to enjoy Kauai! Would highly recommend.
