Everything was great!
Lovely home a 2 minute walk from a stunning sandy beach. Home was well-equipped and clean without any issues throughout our stay. There is a coffee shop and restaurant a few doors down.
Great private home ina quiet neighborhood. Very easy access, plenty of space, and an easy walk to a (usually) empty beach.
Loved our stay at the bungalow. Great location. With an infant we loved being able to go to the beach without loading up the car. Only gave a 4 because some newer fans could go a long way without AC.
We very much enjoyed our stay. It was a wonderful location.
This was our second stay and we could not have been happier with every aspect of the rental.
Nice home, convenient to stores and activities. Thank you for sharing it with us
We truly enjoyed the stay in the house, the area, the amazing beaches and snorkeling and having the Na Pali Coast Wilderness State Park so close!
Steps from beautiful beach. Loved the traditional Hawaiian details.
The location is one of our favorite anywhere, with a beautiful walk to a wonderful, low trafficked, neighborhood beach that looks out across Hanalei Bay. The house has nice character and is clean, but is older. It gets hot in the afternoon and into the night on sunny days, as does not have AC. But most places there don't have AC, and you're staying there for the north shore of Kauai, not to spend days in a house. It was perfect for that.
My favorite thing about this property was the birds singing in the morning and the crickets serenading at night. There were a lot of bugs inside and out and lizards, but that’s to be expected staying secluded in the jungle like that. Overall, the place was clean and comfortable. I do think the bedding should be updated. It is old and definitely is beyond feeling fresh. The master shower is a bit odd with the way the shower drain is set up, so that there really is no dry place to stand. Other than that, the layout was really nice. It felt very roomy, and the kitchen was very functional. The neighborhood felt safe and it was an easy walk to the beach. Also not too far from town and there were nice beach supplies to choose from, chairs, umbrellas, ice chests, snorkeling gear, etc.
The location is quiet, ideal distance to the beach, roomy and comfortable. Wonderful host, excellent set up for a family.
The Island beach house is amazing! A perfect retreat while exploring the north shore. The home is older but has a wonThe home i
Lovely location and perfect location for a family.
Our family loved this spot. The house, neighborhood, beach access are perfect. Great for those who love a "true" Hawaiian get away. We did loose power for almost 2 days due to a big storm (lots of homes and businesses were affected) which was a little adventure for us. Keith (property management) was awesome, he stopped by to check on us and offer a generator for the frig. Excellent care! We would definitely recommend and would love to return to this spot.
The bungalow location was amazing. We were so close to the ocean we could hear the waves at night. It was a very enjoyable stay. We will stay here again when we return to Kauai.
The property was exactly as advertised—clean, quiet, and in a fantastic neighborhood just steps from a secluded beach with amazing snorkeling. Our family loved every moment and would absolutely stay here again!
Overall the stay was nice. The location is magical and this part of north shore is so beautiful and special. It does seem that nearly every house is a vacation rental, interesting enough! Communication and check in was easy and great. The main reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the bed / mattresses. They seem ancient and practically broke us. That is a true bummer to feel in pain and sore from sleeping/relaxing on vacation. There’s a foam topper on the master that just ends up feeling wet. Wish they’d make an easy upgrade that would cost about what they’d make from one nights stay. Since we had a 2 year old I do wish the curtains were a bit thicker to help black out the room for naps more. As well, since the doors and walls are paper in some places, there’s not a lot of sound proofing or privacy. This is in some other reviews so it’s just a matter of being aware Overall this was a nice little oasis to have for our stay and return to after beach days or adventures around the island. Thanks for having us!
This was a beautiful property with lots of privacy. There was more than enough room for the two of us but we enjoyed the space to spread out and make it our own for the week. We walked to the beach only steps away to watch the sunrise each morning over the mountains and ocean. We enjoyed meeting people in the community and there were four beaches within biking distance. We biked to the Haena State Park and Hiking Trails as well as beautiful Ke Ke Beach. We would stay here again without a thought. Mahalo
This house was incredible! The amenities were as described. The wood detailing on the building and the kitchen was unique. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach, which seemed almost private. Snorkeling was awesome with turtles regularly available to swim with.
The house is just as described and a short walk to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book this VRBO again!
The house was exactly what we wanted. Quiet, low key, super close to what might as well be a private beach. We went to numerous beaches while staying here and the one closest to the bungalow was 2nd best (hard to beat Hanakāpī‘ai beach). The outdoor shower was super handy and the house had everything we needed. Remote enough that there’s no noise or light pollution but close enough to shopping and gorcery stores. Just about perfect.
The house was a perfect hideaway for our family. Plenty of room, very clean, and lots of fresh air. Our son enjoyed the gravel driveway and sand toys.
This was our second stay at this lovely hideaway on Kauai's north shore, and it once again exceeded our expectations. Thank you again, Acacia!
We enjoyed our day so much and already miss waking up to the tropical views out our bedroom window and sounds of the jungle. We will absolutely be returning to this home and cannot wait for our next trip. Thank you so much for such a magical stay!
Very naturey and absolutely beautiful. The location can’t be beat! The beds were so comfy we all slept great every night. Thank you so much- mahalo!
We loved the house! The floor plan is great and furniture is comfortable. Having an outdoor shower is so useful to rinse the sand off. Close to the beach and lovely neighborhood. I would stay here again!
The property was in a beautiful setting. We likes the accessibility to the beach and hiking.
We really enjoyed our stay in this great home just a 3 minute walk to the amazing beaches on the north shore! The amenities to the property are as described and all the beach chairs and gear we needed were provided.
We absolutely love this house. Perfect layout for a family with teens. Sweet little neighborhood setting. Beautiful beach. Second time we stayed and it was just as wonderful as we remembered!
Great location. We booked a last minute trip to Hanalei and hadn't stayed in Haena before. It is so peaceful and quiet with a short walk to the beach. Rooms and kitchen were plenty big. If you are looking for a modern, updated beach house, this isn't it, but for the price, the spaciousness and adequate kitchen/bathrooms are just fine. The location and serenity? Priceless. Perfect for 2 couples or a family of 5 who are interested in having a home base while they explore the island, or better yet, hanging out at the beaches and state park nearby. Don't miss the new coffee shop down the road. Fantastic.
We had an amazing week in this home! Incredible location. Embedded in a beautiful little neighborhood and right by the beach. This place is close to the best beaches on the island as well as a small town with places to eat and shop while feeling like the edge of the world. The house was clean, cozy and well equipped. We will be back.
The property, scenery, ambiance, location … everything! … was perfect. Every night was incredible, falling asleep to the sounds of the birds, the frogs, and the crashing ocean waves while a cool breeze blew through the house. Our kids loved being able to walk right to the secluded, empty beach and we loved walking out each morning to watch the sun rise over the waves. The whole experience was amazing and one our family won’t soon forget.
Our family really enjoyed our stay!
Pros: Location - a 90 second walk to a beautiful swimmable beach. The house is in a quiet rural neighbourhood. 20 minute walk to Tunnels Beach. Price - the least expensive rental in the neighbourhood. Manager - Acacia was very attentive and supportive from the time we booked to checkout. Amenities and equipment - the house came well equipped in the kitchen and beach stuff. Only miss was a dishwasher, but not a big deal. Cons Photos - especially the yard was made to look more inviting and useable than in reality House - it’s tired - needs big maintenance on all windows and doors, back deck, and bathrooms. There’s not much in outdoor space. The linens felt thin and old - except the towels, both bath and beach were great. Bedrooms - only the master is completely private- the other two have sliding paper doors and are open up at the ceiling. I’d suggest that the house would seem crowded if all the bedrooms were used. That all said, we had a wonderful holiday, and the issues with the house didn’t get in the way much at all.
Overall, the property was nice and remote. It was a short walk to the beach. The listing said there was a hot tub, but we were disappointed when we saw that there wasn’t one there. We booked this place partly because we wanted this option while we stayed at this property.
Place was great. Clean and well supplied with kitchen utensils, towels, beach gear and other necessities. Get ready for tiny lizards in the yard and sometimes in the house :) Super close to the beach. Walls essentially don’t exist, so go with friends who don’t snore ;) This place is great for getting close to nature and enjoying the weather
