Great location, easy check in and out. The home was clean and comfortable
Lovely and comfortable. Clean and well equipped. Great communication. An "escape to the country"!
plenty of beach toys, and great views
Great location and very comfortable.
Absolutely awesome place to stay -- thank you to the hosts! Description and pictures were true to the property, everything was clean and well cared for, lanai was beautiful (amazing view!), sofa bed was much appreciated (the property sleeps six people in three beds w/ the sofa bed included). Excellent shower, nice place to park. Less than 15 minutes driving to the center of Kona and 10 minutes to the airport. Host was responsive to any inquiries. No excessive cleaning expectations on check-out unlike some properties. Really well furnished kitchen -- even an electric kettle for hot water. This is the upper level of a two-story duplex type house with an exterior wooden staircase up to the door. Loved hearing the roosters in the yard in the morning and the frogs at night (even though I know they're invasive). Ceiling fans and abundant windows were enough to keep us comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to others.
The property had great views from the lanai and it was very inviting overall. King bed was very comfortable.
great stay!
Clean and relaxing apartment with a beautiful view.
Property is amazing. Great location and amazing neighborhood. While convenient to everything, it is outside of the crazy business of the kona tourist area. Lots of snacks upon arrival with well equipped kitchen. Great beds to sleep on and a television in all rooms. Very easy to communicate with the owner as well. Would not hesitate to stay here again Thank you Charlotte for a great experience.
Loved the place!!! I could live there. Lots of kitchen ware, beach chairs, towels. You name it she had it. Did have a problem with beach umbrella. Called Charlotte & she brought 2 new beach umbrella within an hour. The View was beautiful & peaceful. I would definitely rent again!!
Beautiful little apartment, well maintained and the hostess did a great job of making us feel welcome. There were snacks and music playing as we came in. Very comfortable beds and over all experience. My son said he would love to live there year around!!!
We had a fantastic stay at this charming apartment! The location was perfect for exploring the town and the apartment itself was clean and homely. It’s part of what I believe to be 4 apartments. We didn’t encounter any issues with others living there or surrounding homes. Make note that if you are planning on visiting in the warmer months that with the windows being open you will be hearing the Kokee frogs throughout the night and the roosters early in the morning. Only problem was a WiFi problem and it was easily resolved the following morning. But all in all we’d absolutely recommend her place to anyone visiting Kona.
We really enjoyed the views from the Lanai and the comfortable accommodations. The beds were soft and comfortable. The kitchen was great and it was nice to be able to cook a few meals. We also used the beach chairs and beach toys that were provided which was a great perk.
When we arrived at the property, it was pouring rain. Every window and sliding door was wide open with all fans on high speed. Aside from the security issues of walking into an unsecured residence, there was a very poignant chemical smell (scent machine and mold combo) throughout the apartment. We were there 15 minutes and all immediately got headaches. The smell would not disipate. We contacted the host and she suggested we open the windows. Again, every window was open before we ever arrived. It was concerning that she was unaware of this. We shared our concerns about the safety of the property and she stopped communicating. Rather than continuing to get sick, we put our safety first and left within 20 min of our arrival. We immediately informed the host of this. As it was late in the evening, we had no where to stay. As a result, we had to rebook airfare and shorten our vacation. The host denies any safety issue and refuses to refund anything. She even continues to insist on charging the cleaning fee when the property was never used. We stayed at two other properites on the island and had no issues whatsoever. This property does not represent what the island has to offer, AVOID IT!! We had a great vacation up till this point and are disappointed in this host & property.
Great location. Spacious apartment with tasteful decor. Comfortable beds and nice lanai.
Host/managers were quick to respond and fix some minor issues that cropped up at the start of our 10 day stay. House is well-appointed and we made use of washer/dryer. I actually looked forward to hearing the frogs each night, and the roosters crowing in the morning. The covered deck was really nice since we had a lot of rain. Plenty of towels. Full size fridge. Large bed is very comfy and soft.
The property was very nice, the host was amazing and friendly. She called me when we had issues with the internet and worked to resolve it. We had a memorable stay.
Soft bed. 2nd floor house. A lot of wild chickens. 15 min drove from everywhere. Airport. Walmart, Costco. Washer and dryer was big. Overall great stay.
IT WAS AN AWESOME WEEKEND. WEATHER WAS PERFECT. GOLF AT WAIKALOA VILLAGE & HUALALAI WAS WELL WORTH THE TRIP. THE VRBO PLACE WAS PERFECT, CLEAN & NO HASSLE. BESIDES THE SMOKE ALARM BLARING FROM THE INSIDE WHEN WE GOT THERE, IT WAS A GREAT STAY. THE BEDS & LIVINGROOM COUCH WERE COMFORTABLE. NEIGHBORHOOD WAS QUIET. I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.
Love led being up in the hills and felt like a local. Was dark finding the place up at night! Nature sounds were great but glad we brought ear plugs. A lovely stay.
Super clean. Very friendly and accommodating host. We enjoyed the sounds of Hawaiian nature lullabies and alarm clock (frogs and chickens). Convenient to many Kona activities, the airport, and Costco!
The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed. It was very relaxing. I love the lanai and it was super clean. I recommend it. The downsides of staying there included long drive to South Kona beaches, loud coqui frogs at night, roosters crowing at 3 am, and bed too soft. (I was warned about the roosters from a previous review). It was cool enough to keep the bedroom window closed, which helped with the noise. Pack your sleeping pills if you are a light sleeper! The kitchen had everything. We enjoyed staying up the hill for a change and liked the neighborhood. It is a good value for the price.
We loved our stay here! The space was clean and had everything we could have needed. The hosts have thought of everything with a well stocked kitchen, soft towels, beach gear, towels and more. We loved drinking coffee on the big deck. Other reviews had us a little concerned about being woken up by roosters, but we closed the windows at night and turned on sound machines (one they provided and one we brought) and it wasn’t a problem at all. Would definitely stay here again!
We loved it. Had to get used to no ac but it was no problem at all. The breeze was beautiful.
This property was great. It was just what we needed as a family traveling with a little one ( 20 Months). The place was well equipped with all things cooking, to go containers, and just about every appliance one might need for cooking their own meals. It was great to have this place as a home base as we ventured out for the day. When we returned most evenings we would catch the beautiful sunset from the lanai. Also, a nice place to enjoy breakfast in the morning. The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed and it was pleasant to crack the window and fall asleep to the sounds of tree frogs and other nocturnal creatures. The roosters are a little noisy early in the morning, but I'm sure that's the case across the isalnd, they're everywhere. The beach gear setup was very convenient. The place is well stocked with sand castle supplies, boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs. The snorkel gear was pretty worn, so maybe thnk about renting some if you plan to snorkel. All in all, it was a very inviting home for our stay in Hawaii!
We were in a nice quiet area. The view was lovely. The accommodations were great. Totally had a good time!
I was looking for a central place to stay with diving in mind. View was fantastic and it is below 2000 feet.So very clean and having shampoo and conditioner was so helpful. Yes, there are chickens and dueling feral roosters that start crowing about 3am, close the windows worked well for us, nice and cool by then. Will be back if available again! So
Lovely property. Evenings on the deck were relaxing with bird singing and a nice breeze.
Awesome place to stay, fully equipped with anything you need.
We rented this lovely upper floor 2-bed/1-bath to attend a celebration of life in Kaloko. It was in a wonderful location in a quiet neighborhood. I would give it 5 stars, except there are Coqui frogs that make noise for part of the night, then the roosters start in the early morning. It was very clean, the bed was incredibly soft & comfortable, and they provided snacks! The kitchen was well provisioned. The deck is very nice to hang out on.
Property was large and well-laid out. Lanai was particularly nice, with long-distance ocean views. No A/C, but with windows open breezes kept temperature ok. Communication with host was great. The one problem was noise. There are many feral chickens all around the neighborhood, and they start loudly crowing well before sunrise, waking us all up at 3:30 am. Because the chickens do not belong to anybody, there is nobody who can remove them or remedy the situation.
Nice beach equipment, plenty of towels, overall clean. The chicken started crowing at 3 a.m the first night and the next night, it began crowing at 6 AM.
The house was clean, tastefully decorated, felt very homey, and had everything we needed. The only complaint was that the roosters outside seem to be on a different timezone and can make quite a noise a few times in the middle of the night. So our sleep wasn’t the best but we’re still good with the 5 star rating due to the quality of everything else
Great neighborhood, the neighbors were very friendly. Would stay here on next visit
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.
Fantastic location for Kona/Waimea side adventures. Beautiful home with lots of Aloha. Amazing lanai with epic sunsets. Great parking, easy to find and enter.
Clean and stylish (not quaint at all). Relaxing, with a terrific porch overlooking the ocean. Surprisingly cool, temperature-wise. No air conditioning, but did not need it. Luxurious beds, like sinking into a pan of marshmallow foam. Stay here.
Location, location was perfect, 10min drive to Kailua Kona & 15min to the airport. Check in and checking out was a breeze. Charlotte was a phenomenal host answered question's right away. Accommodations was exactly described on the profile. Will definitely stay here again. Mahalo for the hospitality.
This was an amazingly comfortable and relaxing accommodation, set up in the hill with nature all surrounding. Bedrooms were roomy and the inclusion of fans made sleeping easier (if you are not used to the heat). Only regret was not staying there longer! Thank you.
This was an absolutely beautiful home to stay at for this vacation. Just as it was listed and better...It was private in a quiet neighborhood and attractively decorated and landscaped. The place offered all the extras needed including a shed full of beach items. The bed was super comfortable. The location was close driving to the beaches and other excursions we planned. My most enjoyable aspect will be watching the beautiful sunset every night from the balcony. Just breathtaking. Yes the rooster did crow every morning. It did not bother us. My friends and I found it entertaining and fun to watch the chickens strut around the property. The experience of staying at this property was wonderful.
It was great. Five star experience.
It was perfect. Clean, excellent decor, so comfortable, neighborhoods setting and baby chicks. Hosts thought of everything you could need. I highly recommend this place. The beach equipment was new and I loved the full face snorkel. Mahala.
It was very quiet and everyone had their own space. Very relaxing enjoyed cooking. Thanks for the memories. The thing that was not discussed was that we were not close to anything. You are up the mountain and very hard to see the ocean. The postive out weighs
very clean and quiet place to stay
The unit was easy to find and very clean and comfortable. It was so nice having a washer/dryer for our scuba diving trip. The tenant on the first floor was extremely quiet (we barely knew she was there!). The kitchen is well equipped and there was bottled water in the fridge on our arrival. All the appliances worked fine. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Internet was good. Lots of towels and a comfy couch to stream TV. The only downside are the wild chickens which are all over the neighborhood. We had a very vocal rooster that started crowing at 4am -- suggest you bring ear plugs.
We enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean & cozy. The renovation is nice and beds are comfortable. As another guest mentioned, the neighbors roosters will wake you up early around 4:30-5am. Overall we enjoyed our stay here & had a great vacation!
Quiet. Close to Kona & Kohala (beaches) Nature views & sounds Spacious Local Area ( less touristy) Great beds & bedding
The owners have thought of everything to help make the stay most comfortable - plenty of towels/beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, a well-stocked kitchen. We required a pack n play for our toddler but, when we arrived, the apartment didn't have one. I messaged the hosts to inquire about a pack n play. They bought one and left it on our doorstep that very day! We had such a wonderful time! Thank you!
The location was very convenient location to town, to waikoloa side and my main meeting was at Nelha so that was perfect. Now he forgot 2 white shorts, 1 blue shorts, 1 white tshirt and 1 blue tshirt. Can I somehow pick them up next week? Thank you
It was great
Perfect place, location was great, had everything we needed, loved our stay. However, rooster crows from 3am to about 7am each day, every 5minutes which stole our sleep. Host was gracious enough to provide earplugs which made it tolerable. Loved otherwise everything about it
Huge place! Very warm and welcoming and great location for driving anywhere on the island. Highly recommend!
Great stay!
The condo was immaculate. Very beautiful and clean. It’s like an interior decorator made the layout. The hosts were great, they even gave us free papaya and were very attentive to our needs.
