Beautiful landscaping, easy parking, and nice pool. This was our second stay at this condo complex because of how convenient and relaxing it is.
The condo was nice and the location was great. The only issue we had was an infestation of cockroaches. We contacted the manager and they were going to take care of it after we checked out.
The lanai has tables and chairs and is a great place for meals. The condo complex has lush landscaping and a fantastic pool/spa and sunset viewing area. The unit was dated, however it is well decorated with great wall art and knickknacks. The unit is well stocked.

An amazing stay. Property manager was helpful w a late check out. Kona Makai is our favorite place to stay. Quiet, romantic, and peaceful. Not as suitable for little kids…. The plants and grounds are amazing
The condo was well appointed and exactly what we needed. And the property itself was very nice, especially the pool. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!
Gorgeous maintained gardens and property. Beautiful Sea views. Fabulous location. Wonderful amenities. Comfortable home. Quiet, Peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately the email information sent by the owner was grocery outdated. We didn't have the correct code to get into our unit. Then the property manager we were to call if we had any trouble hasn't been the property manager for a year. We didn't have data so couldn't access the wifi to txt the owner. So checking in was an adventure but finally after going and looking for help we found a kind landscape gardener who helped us call the 'property manager' who couldn't help us, and then finally the owner got back to us with the correct and updated information. Other than the above mishap, I highly recommend this property and amenities.
Overall this location was amazing. There was some confusion due to separate emails sent from Verbo and the property owner stating different check in info. However, the local contact, Collin, was very helpful getting it sorted out. The condo was clean. The bed comfy. The view from Lanai is beautiful. There were some standard size toiletries that are likely from or shared with previous guests. If thats a problem, you should bring or buy your own. Also, to avoid extra cleaning costs guests are required to empty trash, and do their own dishes and laundry before leaving...
1) the door was challenging and frustrating to open. The owner informed us a few days prior that they are replacing the door after we leave because it is complicated to work. Didn't help us. Only my husband was able to open the door with some effort. 2) we were notified two days prior to departure that in order for the dryer to work we have to turn on and off the circuit breaker each time. 3) pool is NOT kid friendly. The pool rules say no diving, no jumping, no pool noodles, no cannonball, etc (not safety rules such as no running by the pool). And they enforce the rules.
It was so amazing! So close to the ocean, which I loved! To be able to walk a short little walk down to watch the beautiful sunsets and hear the waves! Close to stores and lots to do. Had everything we needed.
The condo is located in a great location! It's right of the coast line so you have beautiful ocean views and sounds. I awoke to the sounds of tropical birds and frogs every morning! Large 1 bedroom unit! I loved everything about my stay at Mona Makai. I'd highly recommend! Colin was super helpful!
It is very clean and property manager responded quickly for one of my message. Location is very nice, I enjoyed my stay.
So happy we found this property! Host communicated well at every step. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Fully equipped kitchen including coffee and a few seasonings. Roomy bathroom with plenty of towels and soaps. Stacked washer/dryer with soap. Plenty of snorkeling gear. Beautiful ocean sunsets at the end of the property with access to water. Walkable trip to farmer's market (< 1 mi) or 1.5 mi to see most of Kona waterfront shops and food. Best stay of our trip to the Big Island!
We loved this ground level condo. It is in a perfect location , close to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our breakfast on the lanai watching the ocean. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed the Hawaiian art and comfortable bed. We did not want to leave. We hope to be back soon. Mahalo!
